Background / History

Soul Beast Origins

Xiao Wu chose human transformation because her mother described the human world as interesting and told her that kind people lived there. Da Ming and Er Ming opposed her decision, repeatedly citing the Blue Silver Emperor’s sacrifice as a warning. She ultimately transformed while secretly hiding from them, then sought safety in a small human city because she feared discovery 22 81.

Her mother had died before Xiao Wu met Lan Changsheng. He remembered her mother as gentle and regretted that his seclusion had prevented him from saving her. Xiao Wu retained a sandalwood comb as her mother’s keepsake 40.

Nuoding Academy

At Nuoding Academy, Xiao Wu became the leader of Dorm Seven. When Sun Li bullied the work-study students and took Wang Sheng’s family money as a “protection fee,” she challenged him despite his strength advantage. Tang San joined her, and their victory forced Sun Li to return the stolen money 17 18.

Tang San later revealed that he knew she was a transformed soul beast. He explained his own connection to Ah Yin and Lan Changsheng, gave her the Lovesick Heartbreak Red to conceal her aura, and invited her to accompany him to Shrek Academy. Moved by his acceptance, Xiao Wu embraced him. He promised to protect her as his little sister, and she called him “Big Brother” 22.

Journey to Shrek

Xiao Wu withdrew from Nuoding Academy with Tang San and departed under Yu Xiaogang’s guidance. Tang Hao protected them during Spirit Hall’s pursuit and made the children fight a surviving short-staff Soul Master as practical training. Xiao Wu was injured during a neck hold, but the pair adjusted their coordination and defeated him; Tang San delivered the killing blow 22 29 30.

During the journey, Xiao Wu met Lan Changsheng and immediately agreed to help end hostility between humans and soul beasts. She described peaceful coexistence as the very reason she had entered the human world 40 41.

At Shrek, she passed Flender’s assessment by using her agility to reach him. Her subsequent training included endurance running, weighted exercise, and physical techniques practiced against Li Yusong without soul power 53 62 63.

Early Field Missions

On a mission involving Red Boars, Xiao Wu hesitated when she saw their leader bleeding. Her discomfort helped prompt Tang San to restrain it rather than kill it. She partially interpreted the boars’ cries, allowing him to understand that they were searching for family members 57.

When the pair later returned with news that the missing child had died, Xiao Wu became distressed and asked whether she and Tang San might also be separated. He answered that they needed to grow strong enough to prevent it 60.

A later Wind Wolf bounty near Qinghe Town proved to be a Spirit Hall trap. Xiao Wu discovered that the supposed scent trail came from only a few hairs. Chi Heng overwhelmed both children with rank-eighty-five soul power; Flender attempted to rescue them, but a hidden attacker struck him down, and the children lost consciousness 63 64.

Training and Black Wind Stronghold

Lan Changsheng brought Xiao Wu and Tang San to learn force generation from the Iron-Armed Azure Ape. Xiao Wu’s progress depended on physical imitation rather than Tang San’s method of inward observation. She eventually adapted the technique to the explosive leg movements central to her fighting style 80 81 82 84.

She tested that training during the Black Wind Stronghold mission alongside Tang San, Ning Rongrong, and Oscar. Her vibrating kicks helped pressure the enemy Soul Grandmaster, while Tang San’s restraints and Oscar’s recovery food supported her. A later full-strength aerial strike missed and strained her muscles; Tang San killed the opponent immediately afterward 86 89 90 92.

Tang San’s Return

After Tang San’s experiences in Slaughter City aged his body and mind by eight years, Xiao Wu was the first of the waiting students to recognize him from his features. She embraced him and asked what had happened, but his unfamiliar maturity and restrained killing intent left her bewildered. Tang San subsequently chose to leave Shrek and travel alone 139.

Tournament Final and Exposure

In the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, Xiao Wu used Teleportation and Waist Bow to throw two incapacitated Black Rock Academy fighters toward the platform’s edge 153.

The final against Spirit Hall became a lethal trap centered on Chi Wang. Xiao Wu and her teammates were injured while trying to protect him, and the referee refused to accept Shrek’s surrender. A later blast of black Evil Fire struck her shoulder and brought her to her knees 156 158.

Shrek ultimately defeated the Spirit Hall team, but the judges left without announcing the result. During the fighting and Xiao Wu’s subsequent injuries, the Lovesick Heartbreak Red fluctuated and leaked her soul beast aura. Bibi Dong recognized her true identity and attempted to seize her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring and Soul Bone 159.

Bibi Dong’s Rakshasa pressure incapacitated most of Shrek’s fighters, leaving only Xiao Wu and Chi Wang barely conscious. As the Pope prepared a fatal Rakshasa Ghost Hand, Lan Changsheng appeared and stopped her attack 159.

Appearance

  • Human form: Initially appears as a little girl with rosy cheeks 4.
  • Hair: Wears a scorpion braid that swings with her kicking movements 89.
  • Build: Remains well-proportioned rather than bulky after intensive training, with visible strength in her physique 63.

Personality

Xiao Wu is outspoken, playful, and proud of her strength. She defends Dorm Seven against bullying, enjoys teasing Tang San, and readily assumes a protective “older sister” role toward newcomers. On meeting Chi Wang, she asks him to call her Sister Xiao Wu and promises to protect him because his Martial Soul lacks offensive power 17 64 105.

Her confidence coexists with a deep fear of exposure and separation. Tang San’s acceptance moves her to tears, while the Red Boar family’s loss makes her fear losing him. Despite those anxieties, she remains committed to human–soul beast coexistence and perseveres through painful training rather than abandoning it 22 60 81 82.

Abilities & Skills

Soft Bone Rabbit Martial Soul

Her natural strengths are flexibility, agility, and instantaneous bursts of power, especially through her legs 17 82.

  • Changes direction in midair and uses an opponent’s momentum to retreat or counterattack 29 30 63.
  • Uses leg locks, neck holds, and waist-driven throws to control opponents 29 63.
  • Struggles to throw opponents with overwhelming strength or a major size advantage, as shown against Sun Li and the Red Boar leader 17 57.

Bow Waist / Waist Bow

Her First Soul Skill supports powerful waist-driven attacks and acrobatic grappling 17 29.

  • Channels force through her waist into kicks and twisting holds 17 29.
  • Can be combined with Teleportation for rapid close-range attacks 153.
  • Close grappling leaves her vulnerable to forceful counters, including an opponent throwing himself backward to crush her beneath him 29.

Vibrating Internal Force

A body-force technique taught by the Iron-Armed Azure Ape, adapted to redirect strength from the ground through her core and into her kicking leg 82 84.

  • Transmits high-frequency vibrations into an opponent’s body, causing shaking and numbness 89 90.
  • Increases the threat of her strikes against stronger opponents 90.
  • Incorrect routing can injure her muscles; forcing the technique in midair remains especially demanding 83 89 92.
  • Later gains additional strength through harmonious symbiosis with her teacher 128.

Teleportation

Allows Xiao Wu to close distance immediately before a melee attack 153.

  • Demonstrated against Black Rock Academy in combination with Waist Bow.
  • The supplied account does not establish its range, usage limit, or associated Soul Ring 153.

Soul Beast Senses and Communication

Xiao Wu can recognize familiar scents and understand some soul beast speech 57 60 81.

  • Locates the Red Boars by scent and detects that a false Wind Wolf trail consists of a few hairs 60 64.
  • Communicates with the Iron-Armed Azure Ape about her transformation and ideals 81.
  • Cannot understand every species completely; she only partially deciphers the Red Boars’ cries 57.

Equipment / Items

  • Lovesick Heartbreak Red — Immortal Herb supplied by Lan Changsheng through Tang San to conceal her transformed soul beast aura. It glows faintly when she accepts Tang San as her brother and is later shown successfully masking her aura. Its concealment fluctuates during the tournament crisis, allowing Bibi Dong to identify her 17 22 81 159.
  • Sandalwood comb — Her mother’s keepsake, carried in a pouch at her waist 40.

  • Iron-Armed Azure Ape — Martial teacher and later symbiotic partner. Tailors his instruction to her flexibility and explosive leg strength 82 84 128.

  • Da Ming and Er Ming — Protective companions in the Star Dou Great Forest who opposed her transformation and cared for her deeply 22.
  • Tang Hao — Guardian during the flight from Nuoding. Although his Titled Douluo strength initially frightens her, she trusts that Tang San’s father will not harm her 28 41.
  • Ah Yin — Affectionate elder whom she calls “Auntie.” Welcomes Xiao Wu warmly and offers to reprimand Tang San if he mistreats her 61.
