Background / History

Possession of the Third Prince

Xiong Jun selected Dai Mubai because White Tiger’s power-oriented nature was compatible with his own abilities. His plan depended on becoming human in soul essence: success would let him pursue the Sea God inheritance, while a soul-beast essence would make following Tang San toward the War God position a fallback 2.

He began undermining Dai Mubai’s intelligence when the prince was three and a half. By the time of his martial soul awakening, the child genuinely suffered from severe cognitive impairment. Xiong Jun deliberately made him smile during the ceremony, convincing Dai Weisi and the Star Luo Emperor that his condition had been an elaborate disguise 3 4 5.

Seven days after the awakening, Xiong Jun isolated the prince’s room and began possession. He erased the remnant soul, sealed his own power into the body, and completed the process over three days. Finding that his soul essence was now human, he adopted Dai Mubai’s name and committed to seeking Sea Godhood 5.

Escape and the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Dai Mubai maintained his vacant outward behavior while secretly cultivating for three years. He deliberately postponed his first Soul Ring until his martial soul evolved, then used news of the second prince’s death and Dai Weisi’s approaching men as his opportunity to leave the palace 6 7 8.

The Star Luo Emperor interpreted the escape as proof of exceptional cunning and dispatched Black Panther to protect him. Dai Mubai also fabricated a powerful teacher, inadvertently leading the emperor to believe that a missing imperial granduncle had become his Titled Douluo mentor 8 9 10.

In Heaven Dou, he negotiated with Dugu Bo over the venom afflicting the Dugu family. In exchange for a complete remedy, Dugu Bo swore to protect him from the Heaven Dou Imperial Family, assist during the next Soul Master Tournament within his capabilities, and never deploy his poison in an imperial war. Dai Mubai then used the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well to refine his body and condense his second ring 11 13.

Building His Shrek Circle

Dai Mubai enrolled at Shrek Academy after ordering Black Panther to construct a luxurious three-story villa there. He drew Oscar, Shao Xin, Ma Hongjun, and Zhao Wuji into his circle through cultivation advice, material support, training, and personal rapport. Flender gradually realized that the academy’s loyalties no longer centered on him 16 19 21.

Zhu Zhuqing later joined him with no resentment over his departure. The resources and training plan he had left behind, together with Zhu Zhuyun’s explanation, had convinced her that he was protecting her. Dai Mubai promised to spare Zhu Zhuyun after learning that she had secretly helped her younger sister 27 28.

His martial soul evolution initially prevented successful fusion with Zhu Zhuqing. He gave her access to Lovesick Heartbreak Red, then arranged the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger’s sacrifice to complete her martial soul transformation. He took the Evil God Pearl for himself, awakening his second martial soul; afterward, their Darkgolden Demon God Tiger fusion finally succeeded 28 29 30 41 42 43.

Conflict with Tang Hao

Tang Hao first confronted Dai Mubai to break his pride and make him easier for Tang San to control. Dai Mubai resisted, revealed his abnormal ring configuration, and fought despite the danger of Ring Detonation. Although badly injured, he forced Tang Hao to surrender the Clear Sky Sect’s Unique Techniques and secretly marked him with Lock-On 33 34 37 38.

Following further seclusion, Dai Mubai’s physical strength was sufficient to clash with Tang Hao without Soul Power. When Tang Hao secretly doubled back and attempted to kill him, Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing used their fusion skill against his nine-ring detonation. Dai Mubai finished the battle with Sky-Rending Claw, tearing Tang Hao apart and annihilating his soul power 69 73 74.

Seventh Ring and Divine Ascension

After receiving treatment arranged by Dugu Bo, Dai Mubai spent a month condensing his seventh ring at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. He used his remaining beast origin and Dragon Core energy rather than sacrificing Xiao Wu to himself. He subsequently threatened Xiao Wu into sacrificing herself to Zhu Zhuqing, using Tang San, the Sky Azure Bull Python, and the Titan Giant Ape as leverage 75.

Dai Mubai secured a hundred-thousand-year Void Nether Leopard for Black Panther, bound the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud with his blood, and established cooperation with Di Tian. Three years later, Bibi Dong launched a continental war. After Tang San’s death, Dai Mubai inherited the Asura God position, had Star Luo unify the continent, and established Spirit Hall as its state religion 76.

As a God King, he arranged divine inheritances for his allies, including the God of Darkness position for Zhu Zhuqing and the Water God position for Shui Bing’er. He also gathered Qian Daoliu’s remnant soul through the properties of Zhu Zhuqing’s Lovesick Heartbreak Red, preserving the possibility of resurrecting him in the Divine Realm 76.

• Dark-golden radiance envelops his body when he manifests his Indestructible Vajra True Body 38.

Personality

Dai Mubai combines long-term planning with deliberate deception. He conceals his strength behind apparent foolishness, invents a teacher to explain his resources, and allows others to construct useful misconceptions. He values godhood and freedom of action over becoming Star Luo’s sole imperial heir 5 7 9 10.

He assesses people according to their usefulness and willingness to cooperate. His initial interest in nurturing Zhu Zhuqing depends heavily on their fusion potential, and he openly acknowledges his inability to devote himself exclusively to one woman. Her recognition by Lovesick Heartbreak Red nevertheless moves him to accept her sincerely 19 26 27 29.

His generosity is selective but substantial. He rewards loyal followers with rare herbs and Soul Bones, appreciates Zhao Wuji’s straightforward familiarity, and treats Dugu Bo more generously after the latter risks himself to protect him. Against enemies or unwilling resources, he readily uses coercion, assassination plans, and threats against loved ones 16 31 51 57 75.

He also enjoys comfort without abandoning cultivation, choosing luxurious accommodation, good food, wine, and leisure in Suotuo City while steadily strengthening his body 16 19 21.

His second martial soul forms when the Evil God Pearl activates his other bloodline and fuses with it. Both of his martial souls are described as exceeding ordinary super martial souls and standing below god-level martial souls 42.

• The pearl’s source power remains inside his body after awakening.
