Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Fifth Generation Divine Body 87 Karl upgrades himself after the Nether River Civilization selects the technology as its Cosmic Threat Level reward. He had publicly offered to share the technology with qualifying civilizations in exchange for joining his Unknown Energy Source expedition. 83 87

Background / History

Karl devoted himself to researching Void Essence, the Void, death, and the Ultimate Fear. His experiments consumed the lives of several planets, and his extreme focus on Void research ultimately led to his expulsion from the Super God Academy. He also proposed theories concerning Void Creatures and “Sub-Creatures” dimensions. 90

He regards death as a possible key to a higher stage of life rather than an absolute end. Although his studies later shifted toward the Void, he continued to employ mass death and soul-based experiments in pursuit of knowledge. 82

Karl believes the Void represents the next direction of technology. The Immortal Qin Empire's emergence unsettles him because its technology suggests another route to advancement—and possibly survival against the Ultimate Fear—outside his own Void-centered theories. 13 37

Appearance

Karl is usually composed and cold-faced, with illusory, hazy eyes. His manifestations can fade from sight or persist after the destruction of his apparent body. 10 19 30 120

  • Typically maintains an unreadable, calm expression even under threat. 13 117
  • Can appear as a non-corporeal spirit body after abandoning his physical body. 24
  • Uses a “Phantom Body” state in which his visible form can be destroyed without killing him. 120

Personality

Karl is an intensely curious scholar whose pursuit of knowledge outweighs morality, political stability, and individual lives. He is particularly obsessed with the Void, the Ultimate Fear, and the technological secrets of the Immortal Qin Empire. 37 83

He is patient, soft-spoken, and manipulative. Karl maintains a courteous front with allies such as Hua Ye, while privately treating them as useful tools for his wider plans. 30 He repeatedly engineers conflicts, disseminates selective information, and offers powerful technology to drive other civilizations toward objectives they may not fully understand. 60 83 103

Abilities & Skills

Big Clock Operation

Karl possesses the Big Clock, a supercomputer central to his calculations, surveillance, genetic analysis, and Void research.

  • Located the Immortal Qin Empire beyond the Known Universe. 11
  • Used its computing power to monitor Liang Bing and analyze the wavelength emitted by the Gabriel Armor. 37
  • Deduced Leina's genetic link and created a Gene Lock that sealed her solar authority. 63
  • Analyzed Yu Qin in an attempt to crack her gene lock. 116

Void Theory

Karl has the Known Universe's most advanced understanding of Void theory and can apply it directly in battle and transportation. 119 122

  • Transported Leina and Pan Zhen to the Nether River Star System without moving himself. 119
  • Opened the Void early enough to trigger concern from Ye Chen and former Angel leaders. 122
  • Seeks to use extreme stellar-level energy to reach what he calls the “Void level.” 120

Void Engine Technology

Karl develops, installs, and manipulates Void Engines.

  • Installed Void Engines for Hua Ye and Shi Hao. 13 30
  • Tampered with Shi Hao's Void Engine to trigger a supernova explosion intended to kill Holy Keisha. 23 24
  • Uses Void Engine technology as leverage in his alliances and schemes. 30 83

Spirit Body and Phantom Body

Karl can abandon his physical body, allowing him to survive destruction that would kill a conventional god body.

  • Survived the supernova that destroyed an entire galaxy because he had already discarded his physical body. 24
  • Entered a Phantom Body state in which Pan Zhen destroyed most of his visible form without harming him. 120
  • The Phantom Body is described as lacking direct power of its own, but its intangibility makes Karl exceptionally difficult to kill. 120

Illusion Body and Soul Technology

Karl possesses Illusion Body Technology and conducts experiments involving souls.

  • A spear passed through his body without leaving a wound or drawing blood. 82
  • Killed an attacker with a gesture, extracted the attacker's soul, and used it for experimentation. 82

Mechanical Lifeform Modification

Karl can create or provide enhanced mechanical bodies.

  • Ordered Shi Hao to receive a conscious, tireless body comparable to a god body, alongside a new-generation Void Engine. 37
  • Later gave Shi Hao a mechanical body for operations against the Triangle Civilization. 45

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Big Clock — Supercomputer used for calculations, observation, genetic analysis, and Void research. 10 37 116
  • Void Engines — Devices Karl installs, modifies, and weaponizes; one was used to fuel the supernova that killed Holy Keisha. 23 24
  • Leina's Gene Lock — A restraint developed through analysis of the Sunlight genetic link, sealing Leina's solar authority. 63
  • Void-level activation device — A device built by Karl that requires the power of a Fifth Generation Divine Body Sun Goddess to activate. 119 120

Relationships

  • Morgana / Liang Bing — Co-conspirator and uneasy ally. They collaborated against Holy Keisha, but Morgana remains wary of Karl's ambition and Ultimate Fear research. 18 62 86
  • Holy Keisha — Principal adversary. Karl engineered her death through a Void Engine-fueled supernova, viewing her Justice Order as an obstacle to his research. 23 24 44
  • Hua Ye — Temporary ally and expendable tool. Karl supplies him with Void Engine technology while concealing his own schemes. 13 30
  • Sino — Loyal subordinate and attendant at Death Academy, tasked with reporting intelligence and carrying out Karl's orders. 30 37 108
  • Soul Reaper — Respectful attendant who relays Karl's communications and defends his reputation. 13
  • Shi Hao — Subordinate supplied with Void Engine technology and a mechanical body; Karl previously used Shi Hao's engine as part of his trap for Keisha. 23 37 45
  • Di Leina — Target of Karl's long-term plans. He provided Fifth Generation Divine Body technology to draw her back to Liesun, then sought to use her stellar energy to activate his device. 107 117 119 120
  • Pan Zhen — Opponent who attempts to protect Leina and the Liesun Civilization from Karl's designs. 117 120
  • Yu Qin — Captive whose genetic potential Karl analyzes and whose power he exploits to forcibly activate Leina's stellar energy. 116 120
  • Ye Chen — Object of Karl's intense interest and suspicion. Karl seeks to understand the Immortal Qin Empire's relationship with the Void and later attempts to rally civilizations against it. 37 62 103

Story Role / Major Arcs

Ranking List and the Immortal Qin Empire

When the universal Ranking List appears, Karl acknowledges that even his Void research cannot account for it. He uses the Big Clock to locate the Immortal Qin Empire, discovering that it lies beyond the Known Universe. 2 11

The Empire's displayed technology destabilizes Karl's faith in his own theories. He begins questioning the Ultimate Fear and wonders whether the Empire has mastered—or survived—the Void by a means he does not understand. 13 37

Fall of Holy Keisha

Karl and Morgana's original plans involved Blue Star, Leina, and the removal of Holy Keisha. Karl eventually exploits Hua Ye and Shi Hao's Void Engine to set a supernova trap for Keisha. 18 23

The blast destroys the galaxy and kills Keisha, while Karl survives as a spirit body. Keisha's calm acceptance of her fall leaves him irritated and unable to understand her conviction in justice. 24

Unknown Energy Source Expedition

After detecting an abnormal energy signal connected to the Immortal Qin Empire's coordinates, Karl invites other civilizations to investigate it, publicly suggesting it may be related to the Void or Ultimate Fear. 60 61

He later admits to Liang Bing that he intends to prepare an attack on the Immortal Qin Empire, claiming to possess secret weapons despite recognizing the Empire's overwhelming technological superiority. 62 103

Fifth Generation Divine Body Scheme

The Nether River Civilization receives Fifth Generation Divine Body technology after ranking second in the Cosmic Threat Level. Karl chooses it over the Fifth Generation Void Engine, then offers it to civilizations with Fourth Generation Divine Bodies if they join his expedition. 83

Karl uses the technology as leverage to remove Leina from Blue Star, offering it to Liesun in exchange for suspending foreign military activity and recalling her home. 107 After Leina upgrades, he invades the Liesun Star System and attempts to “borrow” her for his Void device. 117 119

Opening the Void

Karl incapacitates Pan Zhen and Leina, captures Yu Qin, and uses Yu Qin's power to force Leina's stellar-level energy into activation. His objective is to unleash power beyond the stellar level and witness the descent of the Void. 120

The resulting Void disturbance is recognized by Keisha and He Xi, who identify Karl as the only figure in the Known Universe capable of opening the Void at that scale. 122

Public Warning and Loss of Credibility

Karl later distributes footage of a Void Creature to civilizations across the Known Universe, publicly apologizes for his past errors, and claims that his attempted communication with the Immortal Qin Empire led to the disaster. 141

Angel King Yan challenges this account after an Immortal Qin fleet destroys an Abyssal Maw without attacking her or Morgana, undermining Karl's attempt to portray the Empire as an unquestionable threat. 143
