The smell of Ozone in the air hadn't dissipated when a heavy, oppressive, and pungent stench rushed in. The temperature plummeted below freezing within three seconds. Lynn could even see his own breath turn into white, icy mist.

He leaned back against the Throne, which was twisted from a mahogany desk, his fingertips casually stroking the armrests. In front of him, Wanda was looking down. The hem of her dark red trench coat fluttered even without wind, and wisps of viscous Scarlet Particles, like living venomous snakes, climbed up her ankles, corroding the surrounding metal debris into pools of boiling molten iron.

"Sizzle--"

Susan had just offered up the Negative Zone Energy Matrix and was immersed in immense joy. Sensing the surging killing intent behind her, she instinctively activated a ghostly blue Invisible Force Field, protecting herself and Lynn behind her.

"What? Is our Witch jealous?" Susan raised her chin, her blue eyes filled with the arrogance of a victor. She glanced at the pile of wood chips crushed to powder at Wanda's feet, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "Besides going crazy and destroying the house, what else can you provide for your master? Can your little bit of magic even light up the entire Manhattan?"

This sentence precisely triggered Wanda's already stretched nerves to the limit.

Wanda suddenly looked up.

Those once clear green eyes were now completely devoured by Scarlet Chaos Magic. There were no pupils, only two wildly burning blood-red flames.

"Shut up, you lowly bitch who tries to curry favor by stealing your ex-boyfriend's junk."

Wanda's voice was terribly hoarse, each word sounding like it was being squeezed out from between her teeth. She didn't even glance at Susan, completely ignoring the Invisible Force Field that could withstand missile bombardment, and walked straight towards Lynn.

Susan's expression changed, and she was about to activate the Force Field to bounce Wanda away.

"Step back."

Lynn uttered two words calmly. His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable authority.

Susan bit her lip, a hint of resentment flashing in her eyes, but she obediently withdrew the Force Field and retreated to one side of the Throne. She stared intently at Wanda, wanting to see what other tricks this madwoman could pull.

Wanda walked up to Lynn.

Instead of kneeling down humbly like Susan, she straddled Lynn's lap. Her cold hands gripped Lynn's cheeks tightly, with such force that they almost left bruises on Lynn cheekbones.

"Lynn..." Wanda gasped for breath, her warm breath brushing against Lynn's nose. Her eyes were bloodshot, tears welling up but instantly evaporated by the raging magic. "What is an intelligence network? What is unlimited energy? Those inanimate objects can't protect you."

She lowered her head, pressing her forehead firmly against Lynn's.

"I just want you to live. I just want you to be completely safe and sound in my sight."

Lynn looked at the Scarlet eyes so close to his face, a faint smile curving his lips. He didn't push Wanda away; instead, he reached out and embraced her slender waist, his thumb gently stroking her spine through the fabric.

"So?" Lynn's voice was low and seductive. "How are you going to prove to me that you're more useful than them?"

This sentence became the final straw that broke Wanda's back.

"Laugh!"

Wanda suddenly opened her mouth and bit her tongue hard, drawing blood.

A mouthful of blood, mixed with pure Chaos Origin, was sprayed directly onto Lynn's white shirt.

Lynn narrowed his eyes slightly. He didn't flinch.

Because he could sense that there was no aggression in this mouthful of blood; instead, it carried an extremely pure and obsessive protective will.

"My soul is the lock, my origin is the boundary."

Wanda plunged her ten fingers into the back of the Throne behind Lynn. She tilted her head back and let out a shrill, piercing scream.

Boom--!

The top floor of the Baxter Building was instantly engulfed in a blinding red light.

Not only the buildings, but the entire Manhattan sky was stained with a thick layer of blood at this moment.

Lynn's vision was filled with Scarlet. He could clearly feel an extremely domineering force expanding wildly outward from the Throne he sat on, and even from him as the absolute physical Anchor.

One kilometer.

Ten kilometers.

Fifty kilometers.

The Scarlet magical ripples swept across the entire New York City like a tsunami, penetrating reinforced concrete, underground pipes, and even the Spatial Barrier of nothingness.

On Lynn's retina, the System Panel was flashing wildly.

[Skyfather-level Chaos Magic Detected Constructing an Absolute Defense Barrier...]

[The barrier core has been bound to the host's biological information.]

[Barrier Range: Fifty kilometers in radius, centered on the host.]

[Barrier Rule: Any life form or energy entity that harbors substantial malice, murderous intent, or voyeuristic desire towards the host will trigger indiscriminate Chaos Oblivion upon entering the barrier's range.]

Lynn took a deep breath.

Cool.

An ultimate sense of security, surpassing all things, seeps into every part of my body through my pores.

Chapter 117: Shadow Guard, Gwen Stacy's Obsessive Protection

This isn't some kind of bulletproof vest or energy shield. This is a conceptual-level Causality defense. If someone harbors murderous intent towards him from fifty kilometers away, and if that person dares to step into Manhattan, without Lynn or even Wanda a finger, the entire barrier will instantly wipe them out at the molecular level.

Wanda's magical Dimensionality-Reduction Strike, was brutally and forcefully smashed under Lynn's feet.

"Did you see that...?"

The red light gradually receded and disappeared into the air, transforming into an invisible barrier that was imperceptible to the naked eye.

Wanda slumped weakly in Lynn's arms. The depletion of her primal magic had left her face as pale as paper, and her breathing was intermittent. But she was like a lioness who had won a territorial battle, gripping Lynn's collar tightly, turning her head to look at Susan beside her with a condescending and superior gaze.

"Technology can be hacked, intelligence networks can be turned," Wanda chuckled, a glaring blood still clinging to the corner of her mouth. "But my barrier only recognizes him. Anyone who dares to approach him with malice will die."

Susan's face turned extremely pale.

Her prized Negative Zone Matrix paled in comparison to Wanda's almost self-destructive and insane offering. She could even feel the remaining Chaos Particles in the air repelling her Invisible Force Field.

For a fleeting moment, she had the urge to kill Wanda.

The barrier has begun to issue a hostile warning to her!

"You're crazy..." Susan gritted her teeth and took a half step back.

"I've gone mad." Wanda buried her face in Lynn's neck, greedily inhaling the scent of gunpowder and cologne emanating from Lynn. "I've gone mad ever since he shielded me from that laser beam in the Sokovia Ruins."

Listening to Wanda's sickly murmurs, Lynn reached out and patted her back, like soothing a fiercely protective hunting dog.

Extreme fairness means squeezing every last drop of value out of them.

Natasha gave him her eyes.

Susan gave him her heart.

Wanda gave him an indestructible armor.

Now, he has the confidence to completely overturn the table in the dangerous Marvel universe.

Lynn picked up the freshly poured red wine from the table next to her and gently swirled the glass. The Scarlet liquid reflected a hazy glow under the light.

His gaze seemingly casually swept over a ventilation opening in the corner of the hall's ceiling.

There, in a deep shadow.

Gwen Stacy Stacy hung upside down on the cold metal beam like a lifeless ghost.

She was wearing her signature black and white Spider-Man suit, and half of her face mask had been torn off.

Gwen Stacy stared intently at the scene unfolding on the Throne below.

She watched Natasha control the world by typing away on her keyboard in the basement; she watched Susan present the Infinite Energy Matrix; she watched Wanda use her primal magic to create a prison around Lynn, protecting her completely.

And what about her?

Gwen Stacy lowered her head, looking at her hands wearing white gloves.

The edges of the gloves were still stained with blood from killing Mutants in the ruins.

She had nothing.

She doesn't have the vast resources of S.H.I.E.L.D.., the top-tier technology of the Fantastic Four, or the Skyfather-level magic that can alter reality.

She was just a homeless dog who had fled from another universe.

"What should I give you..." Gwen Stacy's chest heaved violently, her nails digging deep into the flesh of her palms, piercing her skin and drawing bright red blood.

A strong sense of inferiority and an extreme possessiveness were raging in her mind.

The image of Lynn cutting the Silk and falling into the Abyss on the Clock Tower once again haunted her vision like a nightmare.

no.

Absolutely not.

If he can't prove himself more valuable than those three women, Lynn will eventually treat her as a dispensable accessory. Lynn will get tired of her and abandon her.

All they can offer are external things.

A chilling chuckle escaped Gwen Stacy's throat. Her once clear eyes were now filled with bloodshot veins of obsession, and a dangerous, eerie green tinge even shone deep within her pupils.

"I'm different. My life belongs to you."

Gwen Stacy loosened her grip on the beam.

Her body, like a weightless feather, silently blended into the depths of the ceiling's shadow.

Since they couldn't defeat those three monsters on the front lines, and since they had no resources or magic to rely on...

Then she would give up all dignity and life as a "human being".

She wanted to completely erase her own presence, combining her Spider-Sense and Invisible Force Field to the extreme. She wanted to become a shadow beneath Lynn's feet, the sharpest and most obedient knife in his blind spot.

24 hours.

Working tirelessly, without sleep or rest.

Even his breathing was in sync with his heartbeat.

"I will always be watching over you, Lynn." In the darkness, Gwen Stacy gripped the Silk Dagger, which was coated with highly charged Bioelectric Charge. "Anyone who dares to touch you, I'll slit their throat."

Even the three women below were no exception.

A more deadly battle of close protection and assassination quietly unfolded in the shadows of the Baxter Building.

Lynn took a sip of red wine, a satisfied, cold smile curling at the corner of his lips.

The fourth one is completely insane too.
