Fury's overt scheme, the hammer in New Mexico
The cold blue light from the tactical tablet shone on Lynn's face.
In a desolate desert with endless yellow sand, lies a massive, bottomless Meteorite Crater. At the very center of the crater, a short-handled metal warhammer stands silently. Ancient runes are faintly visible on the hammer's surface.
"Mjolnir." Lynn's thin lips moved slightly, uttering an unfamiliar syllable.
"What?" Natasha tilted her head back, blood still seeping from the ruptured wound in her abdomen, staining the white bandages crimson. She didn't care about her own life or death; her eyes were filled only with fanaticism for Lynn. "Master recognizes this?"
"It's just a hammer." Susan walked over, her footsteps treading the marble floor. She glanced at the screen, her tone laced with disdain. "Nick Fury went to all that trouble, bypassing our internet censorship, just to send a picture of a hammer to the global Dark Web? Has his brain been fried by nuclear radiation?"
"He's not crazy." Lynn casually tossed the tablet onto the coffee table.
A crisp "snap" broke the tense atmosphere in the living room.
"He's fishing." Lynn leaned back, sinking into the soft leather sofa. He picked up the glass of ice water he'd just been holding and swirled it. The ice cubes clinked against the glass. "And it's a calculated, high-stakes scheme."
Gwen Stacy slipped silently off the sofa back like a nimble night cat. The Bioelectricity dagger in her hand spun rapidly between her fingers, leaving a trail of eerie blue arcs of electricity.
"I'll go find him." Gwen Stacy's voice, hidden behind her mask, was chillingly murderous. "Gouge out his only remaining eye, chop it up, and feed it to the dogs."
"You won't find him." Lynn took a sip of ice water, the cool liquid suppressing the burning sensation in his throat that belonged to the Dark Phoenix. "That old fox is probably hiding in some underground bunker that's cut off from all external connections, watching the screen like a mouse, waiting for me to take the bait."
Wanda leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window and snorted coldly. The Scarlet Particles dancing at her fingertips became agitated due to her emotional fluctuations, tearing tiny black cracks in the air.
"I don't care what kind of broken hammer it is, just say the word and I'll go to New Mexico right now and flatten that Meteorite Crater along with the surrounding sand." Wanda raised her chin, her eyes radiating arrogant superiority.
"Smooth it out? You'll be playing right into Fury's hands."
Lynn put down her water glass and glanced at the four women in front of her.
Fury's schemes were as transparent as a blank sheet of paper to Lynn.
Baxter Building is now an absolute Iron Bucket fortress. It is protected by Wanda's Chaos Magic Barrier covering the entire Manhattan, and by Susan's extremely compressed Invisible Force Field defense. In addition, there is Gwen Stacy's 24-hour assassination network and Natasha's global Intelligence Terminal.
Fury has completely depleted his conventional forces. He can't mobilize the army or send out special agents.
He knew very well that as long as Lynn stayed in New York, among this group of food-grubbing madwomen, even if a nuclear bomb were dropped on him, Wanda would instantly Oblivion him into ashes.
Therefore, he had to lure Lynn out.
How to import it?
It is an extraterrestrial creation that is beyond Earth's technological understanding and contains enormous unknown energy.
Fury knew that Lynn was frantically collecting higher-dimensional power. From the X-Gene Serum to the Negative Zone Matrix, Lynn's ambition was undisguised. This mysterious hammer that suddenly fell from the sky and couldn't even be lifted by the military's most advanced cranes would definitely ignite Lynn's predatory desires.
Once Lynn leaves New York's absolute defensive perimeter and steps into the untouched desert of New Mexico, Fury can unleash his last trump card hidden in the shadows—perhaps the military's space-based weapon, perhaps other hidden superhumans, or even the alien forces behind that hammer—to carry out a scheme to kill someone with a borrowed knife.
"A very crude trap." Lynn's lips curled into a cruel smile. "But I'm falling for it."
He raised his left hand and glanced at the back of it. Beneath his pale skin, the Dark Gold Phoenix flames had just been forcibly suppressed.
Just now in the Bathroom, he smashed the interstellar mental imprint of Hela, with a single punch. This was no small matter. Being targeted by a Yandere Deity who wields the power of death, and having been imprisoned in Asgard's underground prison for thousands of years, her mind had long been twisted to the extreme.
Odin's seal won't last much longer.
If Hela breaks free of her chains and descends to Earth, it will be a true catastrophe. Although Lynn's physical body has now undergone a transformation, he still needs more resources to confront a Universal-level Deity in person.
That hammer, Mjolnir.
It contains the Thunder power of Thor, and is also inscribed with the spells of Odin, the All-Father.
This is more than just a weapon; it's the perfect springboard to make contact with Asgard and gain access to the divine realm. If we can decipher the rules within, or use this opportunity to reach into Odin's treasury, we'll have the means to counter Hela's threat.
risk?
Lynn was never afraid of taking risks; he was only afraid that the rewards wouldn't be big enough.
"Get ready." Lynn stood up, straightened his black silk shirt, and said in an unquestionable tone, "I'm going to New Mexico."
The words had barely left his mouth when...
The air in the living room instantly dropped to freezing point.
All four women's eyes were fixed on Lynn at the same time.
"No!"
Wanda was the first to speak. Her Scarlet magic erupted instantly, forming a giant blood net that sealed off the elevator door and all exits in the living room. Her once clear eyes were now completely filled with red light, revealing a hysterical stubbornness.
"Those filthy things outside have been watching you! You were injured in the Bathroom just now, I smelled blood!" Wanda pressed closer, her chest heaving, her high heels clicking. "I will not allow you to leave my barrier even a step! Anyone who dares to let you out, I will kill them!"
"Stop your ridiculous tricks, Wanda." Susan took a step forward, not to be outdone.
A pale blue Invisible Force Field rapidly spread beneath her feet, colliding violently with Wanda's Chaos Magic, producing a piercing sound of energy friction.
Susan turned to Lynn, her tone laced with a morbid humility and fanaticism. "Master, Fury has definitely planted heavy firepower in New Mexico. The building's Energy Matrix cannot function without me, but if you insist on going, I must protect you closely. My Force Field can withstand any physical attack."
"What's so special about your little Force Field?"
Gwen Stacy hung upside down from the ceiling chandelier, like a venomous spider ready to pounce on its prey. The dagger in her hand was pointed directly at Susan's nape. "I'm not going anywhere. I'll hide in my master's shadow. In the desert, whoever dares to come within ten meters of him, I'll slit their throat."
"The desert terrain is open, your Mutant Power too conspicuous."
Natasha abruptly stood up. The sudden movement ripped open her abdominal wound, and blood streamed down her thigh, but she didn't even flinch. She gritted her teeth, her eyes like those of a fiercely protective old wolf. "I know the military movements in New Mexico better than anyone. I know all the outposts and blind spots there. Master, you need a guide and Intelligence Officer."
Four women.
Four distinct yet equally deadly energy fluctuations.
The temperature in the living room fluctuated between extreme cold and scorching heat. The expensive Persian carpet began to tear piece by piece under the pull of magic and Force Field.
They stared intently at each other, the murderous intent in their eyes almost tangible.
Neither side was willing to back down.
Everyone wanted to be the one by Lynn's side, the one who would monopolize his attention. What's more, they had just realized that an unknown higher-dimensional being was trying to take advantage of Lynn. This extreme insecurity caused their possessiveness to explode completely.
Lynn stood at the very center of the storm, coldly observing this Shura Field that could potentially lift the top of the building at any moment.
Bring them all?
He nipped the idea in the bud as soon as it crossed his mind.
Traveling with these four devastatingly Yandere, they could start a local war over who gets in the passenger seat on the way to New Mexico.
Moreover, Heimdall of Asgard is standing on the Bifrost overlooking the Nine Realms. If he were to brazenly attempt to steal the hammer with these four murderous women, Odin would undoubtedly unleash a lightning strike, prematurely triggering a cosmic-scale melee.
His New York Headquarters couldn't be left empty. This building held the foundation he had just established, and someone had to stay and look after it.
But the problem is...
Who should I take?
Who should be kept?
This is absolutely a fatal decision, walking on a knife's edge. If any one of them is taken, the remaining three will go completely berserk due to extreme jealousy, and might even tear Manhattan apart.
Lynn looked at the four women in front of him, who were almost going crazy for him, and a dangerous sneer slowly crept onto his lips.
It's time to test the results of the acclimatization efforts over the past few days.
