Pushing the Goddess of Death Away, Facing Divine Power in a Mortal Body
In these two completely different times and spaces, two terrifying forces capable of melting the soul exist in the absolute gap.
In the Real World, the orange-red light spewed from the Destroyer Armor had already burned through Gwen Stacy's last Web Shield. The scalding plasma mercilessly licked Lynn's cheek. The stench of burnt flesh mixed with Gwen Stacy's scalding blood blocked his nostrils.
In the Simulated Space-Time of Helheim, Odin's hurled Gungnir, carrying terrifying kinetic energy capable of tearing apart stars, had already shattered the gloom above the Underworld. The blue-white divine light magnified rapidly in Lynn's pupils, and wherever it passed, the dense Death Energy melted away like snow splashed with sulfuric acid.
The wrath of the God-King is not to be profaned.
"Get out of here! You madman!" Hela's hoarse scream exploded in the Death Energy.
This once arrogant Goddess of Death now only had extreme panic in her eyes. She struggled desperately, trying to use her remaining divine power to push away Lynn was blocking her way. She was not afraid of death; she had already died once before due to Odin's betrayal. But she would never allow this arrogant man, who dared to point fingers at the world and dared to rebuke the king of the gods on her behalf, to be reduced to ashes because of her weakness.
"Get out of my way! This is my destiny!" Hela grabbed Lynn's shoulders with her backhand, her nails digging deep into his flesh, trying to throw him behind her.
But she couldn't pull it.
Lynn's legs were rooted to the cold, Black Rock of the Underworld. His kneecaps cracked under the weight of the Gungnir, and the muscle fibers in his calves snapped inch by inch, blood flowing down his boots and into the cracks in the rocks.
But his back was straighter than ever before.
"Destiny?" Lynn grinned, his mouth slick with blood, a chilling sneer spreading across his face. "In my dictionary, there is no such thing!"
He abruptly swung his hand back and grabbed Hela's pale wrist. The terrifying power fused with the Super-Soldier Serum and Spider Genes was unleashed without reservation at this moment.
"You..." Hela was stunned.
"Remember, your life belongs to me." Lynn stared intently into Hela's wide, emerald-green eyes, his voice low yet undeniably domineering. "I won't let you die, not even Odin can take it away!"
Before he finished speaking, Lynn suddenly exerted force in his waist, like swinging a rag doll, and threw the Goddess of Death, who was Universal-level being, backward with great force.
"No--!"
Hela's body traced a black parabola through the air before crashing heavily into the Death Marsh a hundred meters away. She desperately scrambled to her feet, reaching out to grab something, but all she saw was that slender yet mountain-like figure looming between her and destruction.
On the Eight-Legged steed suspended in mid-air, a flicker of surprise crossed Odin's single eye.
The high and mighty God-King simply could not comprehend it. A lowly mortal, devoid of even magic, faced with a divine artifact capable of piercing through a planet, not only did not cower on the ground like an insect, but instead actively pushed aside the sinner he was to punish, using his fragile flesh and blood to meet Asgard's Strongest Divine Punishment.
"Foolish ants." Odin coldly raised his scepter.
The speed of the Gungnir surged once more, its blue-white light illuminating the entire Underworld in a ghastly white glow.
Ten meters.
Five meters.
One meter.
The immense pressure arrived first. The Black Rock beneath Lynn's feet instantly vaporized, and the surrounding air was compressed into a hard solid, completely blocking all his escape routes.
Lynn didn't dodge, nor did he want to.
He slowly raised his head, staring directly at the world-destroying divine light. There was not a trace of fear of death in his eyes, only the extreme madness of a hunter watching his prey fall into the net.
"Come on, old man, let me see just how powerful you really are!" Lynn roared inwardly like Beast.
"Boom--!"
The tip of the Gungnir struck Lynn squarely in the chest.
There was no explosion, no loud noise.
There was only one chilling sound of Oblivion.
Because the system's Pain Suppression was disabled, Lynn clearly experienced what it meant to be "utterly annihilated, body and soul" in that instant.
The blue-white divine light pierced his sternum in an instant. The extreme heat evaporated all the water in his body in a fraction of a second. Before his blood could even splatter, it boiled and vaporized in his blood vessels, bursting every inch of his veins.
"Ugh--" A muffled groan, barely suppressed, escaped Lynn's throat.
pain.
The excruciating pain was indescribable, like ten thousand red-hot steel saws tearing wildly through his nerve network. His skin charred and cracked at a visible speed, and large chunks of Carbonization flesh peeled off, revealing the stark white bones beneath.
But he did not fall.
He clung to his last breath, his feet firmly planted on the ground, letting the power of the Gungnir ravage his body. He wanted to forever etch this arrogant, fearless attitude into the depths of Hela's soul.
"Lynn!" Hela stumbled over, her dark green eyes filled with Scarlet veins.
She watched as the arrogant man crumbled little by little in the divine light, watching him use his broken body to shield her from all destruction.
Her heart, which had been frozen by Odin for a thousand years, was utterly shattered at this moment.
"Bite!"
Just as Lynn's internal organs were about to be completely vaporized, a crisp mechanical voice rang out deep within his mind.
[A fatal blow has been detected to the host; vital signs have dropped to zero.]
[Substitute Death Skill has been triggered.]
[Target: Hela.]
[Judgment: The host, with a mortal body, successfully withstood All-Father Odin's full-force attack head-on, preserving the target's life.]
[Settling simulation evaluation...]
The system's notification sound was like heavenly music, briefly pulling Lynn away from the maddening pain. He knew he had won this gamble.
And they won beautifully.
The divine light gradually dimmed. After piercing Lynn's body, the Gungnir exhausted all its kinetic energy and transformed into a stream of light, flying back into Odin's hand.
Lynn was reduced to a charred, riddled-with-holes shell.
A large, transparent hole, the size of a bowl, had been ripped into his chest, the bones at the edges still emitting a blinding red light. The muscles in his legs were completely Carbonization, and he could only barely keep from falling thanks to his skeletal frame.
"Lynn..."
Hela rushed to him, her hands trembling as she reached out, but she didn't dare touch him. She was afraid that if she used even the slightest force, this man would shatter completely like a sand sculpture.
The mighty Goddess of Death was now weeping like a mortal girl who had lost everything.
"Don't... cry..."
Lynn struggled to pull at the corners of his charred mouth, forcing a smile that looked more like a grimace. His vocal cords were burned, and he could only produce a faint, hoarse friction sound through the airflow.
He raised his hand, now just a skeleton, and very slowly and gently hovered it above Hela's cheek, making a gesture as if wiping away tears.
"My woman... Odin... is not to be touched..."
The moment the words fell, a chilling wind carrying the Death Energy swept through the Underworld Palace.
Lynn's charred body had finally reached the point of disintegration.
Starting from his fingertips, his bones and flesh transformed into a sky full of fine gray ash. This ash swirled in the wind, gently brushing against Hela's face, before gradually dissipating into the endless darkness.
