Smashing the Calyx Beast to Pieces!

Tony had improved the formula for all of Lu Wen's Pumpkin Bombs.

They had been high-explosive bombs to begin with, and after Tony adjusted the formula, their explosive power went up another notch.

Over a dozen bombs rained down, instantly blasting pits all over the Calyx Beast's outer skin.

But they couldn't damage its Spirit Breath Seed, so they weren't much use! He still had to handle this himself.

His golden Wrist Blades sprang out, and the Glider beneath his feet revved up. Lu Wen became a golden blur, furiously slicing through the Calyx Beast's body.

The Calyx Beast didn't have the Double-Jawed Beast's massive, sturdy body. Having evolved the ability to fly meant its body had to be lighter and more fragile.

After being worn down by Mark and the others, it couldn't even form a Scent Mist Shield to protect itself.

Its bones were still hard, but they couldn't withstand blades of light formed from three-thousand-degree lasers! Only its large size kept it from being sliced to pieces on the spot.

It even tried to swing its body into Lu Wen with its momentum, just as it had before, imagining that he would either dodge or be smashed to pieces like the previous humans. Instead, Lu Wen hammered it straight back with a punch packing over a hundred tons of force.

It already looked like a hammer anyway~

Lu Wen jumped off the Glider and had Venom extend tendrils to anchor his feet. Then he grabbed the horn on the Calyx Beast's nose and forcibly dragged it out of the air.

Once he landed, he unleashed every ounce of strength in his body! Gripping the Calyx Beast, he slammed it around wildly, letting it experience the treatment Hulk had given Loki.

Throughout Nirvana Hall, there was nothing but the crash of buildings being smashed apart and the Calyx Beast's humanlike wails.

"Holy moly! Boss, he really isn't human, is he? What human has that kind of strength?!" Xiadou stared dumbstruck at the Calyx Beast howling as it was slammed around, once again shaking the hem of Bai Yuekui's clothes in shock.

She had already lost count of how many times she'd been shocked tonight.

"Boss, could you... do that?" Even the normally composed Suixing stared wide-eyed in shock as she asked Bai Yuekui tentatively.

"Without using Source Matter Potential, I couldn't do it with physical strength alone. He really is powerful," Bai Yuekui said with a frown.

Her pretty face, which had remained cold and stern all this time, could no longer maintain its composure either. Shock was written all over it.

The Devorant's mournful cry rang across the Wasteland.

The Calyx Beast lay motionless on the ground, its once-ferocious eyes now as lifeless as those of a dead fish.

Because of Venom's presence, its Devorant vision couldn't detect Lu Wen through emotional fluctuations.

But it was a Metamorphosis Type, and its biological eyes could still roughly make out Lu Wen's motionless figure standing nearby.

Against Pan-Species Types, as long as someone maintained Dragon Bone Village's Origin Return State and stood still, their biological eyes saw no real difference between a person and a rock.

Looking at the motionless Calyx Beast, Lu Wen didn't completely let his guard down. He knew this thing was slowly recovering through the Ecosystem Network.

He had simply had a sudden thought: if he let Venom possess this Calyx Beast, could Venom control it and free it from the Mana ecosystem's control?

If Venom copied its genes, then returned to his body and passed the benefits back to him, could he get himself some triple helix DNA to play around with too?

He didn't know what that stuff did, since he had been a total slacker at school, but Boss Bai cared a lot about it. Besides, only this kind of DNA could enter the Ecosystem Core, so it was probably something pretty incredible.

"Forget it, forget it. Better not act on a sudden bright idea."

Lu Wen shook his head slightly, inwardly talking himself out of trying this completely unknown idea.

As the saying went, it wasn't bad people racking their brains you had to fear, but fools having bright ideas!

Because no one knew just what might happen because of that one bright idea.

He didn't consider himself particularly clever, but he didn't want to go out of his way to be an idiot either. When it was time to behave, he had better behave~

He didn't want to screw things up and wind up dead halfway through...

Extending his Wrist Blades again, Lu Wen prepared to score a few more cuts into the Calyx Beast and dig out its Spirit Breath Seed.

The dying Calyx Beast suddenly raised its enormous head, and a green energy pulse began gathering in its throat!

It was clearly planning one desperate final struggle, ready to take Lu Wen down with its ultimate attack.

Seeing this, Lu Wen stopped too, and orange light began blooming from his chest!

This was his first time charging the Nuclear Chest Cannon while Venom was bonded to him.

"Venom, can you handle this?"

"Absolutely, boss! I've been waiting ages for this!!!" Venom's excited voice echoed inside Lu Wen's mind.

Ever since tapping into the nuclear reaction in Lu Wen's chest, Venom had wanted to try firing the High-Heat Energy Blast he had once feared most from his own body and see how it felt!

As the nuclear energy gathered, orange veins began appearing across the chest of Venom's black exterior.

Up above, Bai Yuekui had already been preparing to save Lu Wen when she saw him stand still in the face of the Calyx Beast's attack. But what happened next once again overturned her fresh assessment of his strength.

Just as the energy pulse spat out by the Calyx Beast was about to reach him, the Nuclear Blast erupted from Lu Wen's chest!

This time, he and Venom were releasing it together! With the added charge-up, this Chest Cannon was even more powerful than the one he had used against Homelander!

There was no earth-shattering boom. The two blasts of energy collided, causing only a tremor in the air.

But this final dance of the Calyx Beast ultimately proved futile...

Bit by bit, the orange energy pushed the green energy back into the Calyx Beast's mouth.

"Be a good beast and turn into points!"

Lu Wen suddenly pushed harder! The Nuclear Chest Cannon pierced straight through the Calyx Beast!

The blast also successfully shattered the Calyx Beast's Spirit Breath Seed, and its enormous body rapidly dissolved into a puddle of black, mudlike living soil.

"Okay, that's 3,000 points in the bag."

Lu Wen exhaled and wiped the nonexistent sweat from his forehead.

He looked around, decided there was nothing else useful here, and promptly stepped onto his Glider to leave.

He couldn't be bothered with whatever spines and other bits remained here. With Devorants all over the world, there was no reason to keep grinding away in this place.

"All right, anything else? If not, let's go. I've got what you wanted too."

"What's with those looks? What, never seen anyone as badass as me before?"

Standing on his Glider, Lu Wen puffed out his chest smugly as the five of them looked at him like he was a monster.

"Nope..."

Shanda and the other three spoke in unison.

They had only ever seen Boss Bai fight Devorants like that a handful of times! And every time, she had been badly injured and needed to rest afterward.

But even if Boss Bai could use Source Matter Potential to kill Devorants of this level, she had never done it in such a brutal way!

Was this guy really not some kind of Monarch-Class Polar Slasher in disguise?

Having inadvertently shown off in a big way, Lu Wen felt thoroughly pleased.

Bai Yuekui didn't take the material from Lu Wen's hand. After those two simple words, she turned and led the way.
