Inside the tent, Magnus woke from his drunken slumber.
He rubbed his aching temples and instinctively looked around.
"Brother Li? How did I end up here?"
Ye Qiyan sat calmly nearby.
"You got drunk yesterday, so I let you sleep here."
Magnus looked at the bedding beneath him and scratched his head awkwardly.
"Sorry for taking your bed..."
"It's fine. Quite a few interesting things happened last night. I couldn't have slept anyway."
He smiled faintly, stood up, and headed outside.
"As for what happened, you'd better ask around yourself. We still have more hunting to do today."
Although Magnus was puzzled, the mention of hunting left him no time to worry about anything else. He hurriedly took his equipment out of the spatial device his family had given him and followed Ye Qiyan.
Everyone in the camp was discussing the previous night's events. Stories about the Demon Mecha-Dragon Man Altos were spreading like wildfire, and even without deliberately asking around, Magnus soon learned the gist of what had happened.
He was deeply shocked by, and envious of, "Altos's" strength.
But he was even more confused as to why such a powerful Train Conductor would join the Imperial Sequence, a terrorist organization, and why he insisted on wreaking havoc everywhere.
Ye Qiyan offered no opinion.
He had no intention of explaining himself.
Good and evil, restoration and destruction?
Did any of it matter?
