Chapters 676–700 Vol. 7 Read

Ch. 676Does anyone want to avenge it?

Ye Qiyan revealed his familiarity with Don Quixote, Anjie, and Mo Shi, then killed the stone man who had caused trouble in the Arena. He stood beside Don Quixote and challenged the gathered Train Conductors to avenge the dead stone man.

  • Ye Qiyan recognized Don Quixote and Anjie, while Daxim trembled under his gaze and could no longer sense his Demon Card.
  • Zhao An recognized Ye Qiyan as the person he had met in Red Maple Valley, lost more of his sanity, and collapsed; Shangguan Yingxue realized Mo Shi had called Ye Qiyan by name.
  • Mo Shi greeted Ye Qiyan, who used Red Tears to appear before the Train Conductors and shot the stone man with Ebony.
  • Ye Qiyan asked whether anyone else wanted to cause trouble, and Don Quixote joined him and offered his friendship.
  • Ye Qiyan thanked Don Quixote, smiled at Sancho, and asked the crowd if anyone wanted to avenge the stone man.

Ch. 677Mo Shi's Information

Ye Qiyan discussed Mo Shi’s fear of death and whether she should use her system wish to gain Stamina, telling her that the stat would not determine whether she could die. When Shaya appeared in the city pursuing another Card Sequence owner, Ye Qiyan suspected trouble was gathering but decided to stay and watch what happened.

  • Ye Qiyan returned to Mo Shi and showed her the Demon Card: Pride while she admired his Card Sequence.
  • Mo Shi showed Ye Qiyan her system panel and asked whether she should use her wish to gain a Stamina stat so she could feel like a real human and Train Conductor.
  • Ye Qiyan told Mo Shi she was already humanlike and that lacking Stamina did not mean she could not die; Mo Shi admitted she was afraid but accepted his advice.
  • Shaya appeared beneath the simulated sky, chasing a figure as a brilliant winged Angel Nun, and Ye Qiyan recognized her as another person gathering in the city.
  • Ye Qiyan considered leaving because so many notable people had arrived, but decided to stay, buy special cups, and watch the unfolding events.

Ch. 678Shaya's Revenge

Shaya killed one of the people who had sealed her and agreed to attend the Guild Competition after learning Ye Qiyan would be there. As Monrojina pressured Joel over Miatila’s key, the Nation on the Ship’s fleet fractured and Alphat came under attack.

  • Shaya hunted down and killed a woman who had helped seal her, then agreed to attend the Guild Competition when Joel told her Ye Qiyan would be there.
  • Monrojina told Joel that Miatila’s key was hidden in a Capsule Tunnel and warned that searching for it could expose the Nation on the Ship’s claims of freedom.
  • Joel insisted that Miatila belonged to him and that he would find the key, interrupting the formation of a chain tied to Monrojina’s ritual card.
  • Ye Qiyan received Shaya’s message while watching a Demon Person in the Pearl Light Arena.
  • The Alphat broadcast announced that three ships had rebelled, Alphat was under attack, and the Capsule Tunnels had been damaged.

Ch. 679The Heart of [Time Stagnation]

Ye Qiyan recognized a beating heart in the virtual sky as the source of the suicide bombings and the time stagnation spreading through the Nation on the Ship. Joel's forces struggled to control the crisis while the Heart of God of Time left most people motionless, and Ye Qiyan’s interface warned him that God-Sucking Insects were coveting human minds.

  • Ye Qiyan noticed that system communications and trading had been blocked, then saw suicide bombers erupt across the Alphat as an enormous heart beat above the City.
  • The Nation on the Ship’s other three starships attacked the Alphat’s weak points, while mutinies and sabotage broke out aboard all three ships.
  • Joel learned that the Louxi’s guns had been seized, suicide bombers were attacking the Heka’s control room, and Abucado members were fighting aboard the Shande.
  • Joel sent thousands of mechanical sentries from his space research institute to the other starships and revealed that the Nation on the Ship was his train, pulled along tracks by a locomotive.
  • Joel discovered that the Heart of God of Time had stopped his subordinates, though his own mental quality let him resist its effect.
  • Ye Qiyan’s Personal Interface showed that mental time stop was ineffective on him and warned that God-Sucking Insects were coveting human minds.

Ch. 680A Knight's Warhorse Would Never Stop Charging

Ye Qiyan remained unaffected by the God of Time’s heart stopping time and sent Don Quixote to attack the giant carrying it. He then rode toward the giant himself, ordering Eve to kill the God-Sucking Insects while wondering whether the Resource Baron or someone from Abucado was behind the crisis.

  • Don Quixote asked whether destroying the heart would restore Sancho, and Ye Qiyan confirmed it would.
  • Don Quixote charged out of the Pearl Light Arena on his Gradually Strengthening Old Nag to fight the giant carrying the heart.
  • Mo Shi described Don Quixote’s power as a Talent and asked Ye Qiyan whether he wanted to save the people frozen in time; Ye Qiyan said he did not know.
  • Ye Qiyan decided he wanted to take the Resource Baron’s shield and learned from the system that God-Sucking Insects could help produce Blank Divine Cores for creating False Gods.
  • Ye Qiyan rode Road Hog toward the high-rise giant and ordered Eve to kill the God-Sucking Insects as they launched suicidal attacks against him.

Ch. 681Charge at the giant!

  • A gunshot forced Resource Baron to dodge, and he spotted a black-haired young man with eight revolving Demon Cards, who joined the battle.

Ch. 682The impossible level eighteen

Ye Qiyan confronted the Resource Baron, who revealed that Altos’s Train Level was only 18, and began a battle amid the rain. The Resource Baron unleashed gemstone fighters and a host of resource monsters, while Ye Qiyan’s allies struck back.

  • The Resource Baron recognized Ye Qiyan as Altos and questioned how his Train Level could be 18, while Lisette captured his image in a photograph.
  • Ye Qiyan ordered Red Tears and the Raven Demon to attack the Resource Baron.
  • The Resource Baron summoned Gemstone People from a ring, and an assassin attacked Ye Qiyan from behind before Lisette accelerated time and struck it away.
  • Red Tears pressured the Resource Baron, who summoned more Gemstone People and revealed that they could endlessly revive.
  • Ye Qiyan directed the Raven Demon to unleash death, preventing the Gemstone People from reviving.
  • The Resource Baron opened three spatial gates and combined metal, timber, and mechanical parts into powerful Resource Monsters.

Ch. 683The spear that pierced the heart/Resource Baron's doppelganger

Don Quixote pierced the God of Time’s heart, ending the time freeze and allowing Ye Qiyan to unleash his forces against Resource Baron. Resource Baron tried to escape with Don Quixote, but Ye Qiyan cut off part of his doppelganger and challenged him to bring his real body.

  • Don Quixote drew the giant’s attention and pierced the heart above its head, breaking the time freeze.
  • Ye Qiyan summoned his mechanical legion and empowered his allies with Rebellion and Mechanical Star.
  • Resource Baron ordered resource monsters and God-Sucking Insects to attack across the City and Alphat while he harvested the resulting power.
  • Resource Baron tried to seize Don Quixote and flee, but Ye Qiyan struck him beneath the full moon and severed part of his finger.
  • Ye Qiyan recognized Resource Baron as a doppelganger and taunted him to bring his real body.

Ch. 684Miserly Grandet~

Ye Qiyan and his allies stopped the Resource Baron’s attempt to seize Don Quixote, forcing the Baron to spend several gemstone abilities for nothing. The Baron’s Doppelganger remained in the ruined city, furious at his losses.

  • Ye Qiyan recognized that the Resource Baron was a stingy Doppelganger with limited power and mocked him as Grandet.
  • The Resource Baron used his fourth gemstone to release eerie creatures from a cloud of mist and ordered them to capture Don Quixote.
  • The Demon Raven used Ye Qiyan’s Storm Eye Stone to dispel the mist and drive back the eerie beings.
  • Ye Qiyan attacked the Resource Baron with Moonshadow, White Night, and his Gear Sword, but the Baron blocked them with his fifth gemstone and redirected their force into the ground.
  • Lisette used the empowered Black String glove to tear apart the eerie compound eye threatening Don Quixote.
  • The Resource Baron realized his fifth gemstone had won him nothing and cursed over his mounting losses.

Ch. 685Not strong enough!

Ye Qiyan drove off the Resource Baron’s doppelganger and reflected on how much stronger he still needed to become. As his crew gathered resources, Draken declared that he would catch up to Ye Qiyan and challenge him someday.

  • Ye Qiyan forced the Resource Baron to retreat after the Baron recovered his ring and escaped with his doppelganger through a scroll.
  • Ye Qiyan judged himself too weak to defeat the Baron’s doppelganger outright and resolved to keep improving his abilities, equipment, forces, and train.
  • Ye Qiyan ordered his crew and nanite swarms to collect the basic resources left behind by the battle.
  • Draken and Shanmo discussed the battle’s scale, and Draken decided their weakness gave them room to grow stronger.
  • Draken shouted to Ye Qiyan that he would surpass him and asked to fight him once his train reached Ye Qiyan’s level.

Ch. 686Their Objective

Ye Qiyan used Bewitchment to question Abucado mercenaries Draken and Shanmo about their objective in the City. He learned that they were searching for Miatila and its Capsule Tunnel key, then asked about their Leader’s Talent.

  • Draken told Ye Qiyan his Train Level was thirty-five and vowed to challenge him after reaching level forty-five.
  • Ye Qiyan used Rebellion × Bewitchment to force Draken to reveal that Abucado had been hired by the Ancient Council to seek Miatila in the City.
  • Draken explained that Miatila might be an Intelligent System from a destroyed technological world and that the City Lord had received it as a gift.
  • Shanmo revealed that Miatila was tied to a system Hidden Quest and that a related key was hidden in one of the City's Capsule Tunnels.
  • Ye Qiyan considered seeking more information from Monrojina and asked the mercenaries about their Leader’s Talent, which they said they had never seen.

Ch. 687The City Gradually Fell Quiet

Monrojina investigated the hidden threats behind the attack on the Nation on the Ship and met Mo Shi, who asked her about Card Sequences. After the fighting ended, Ye Qiyan received an invitation from City Lord Joel to attend a banquet.

  • Monrojina realized that a high-ranking mole had altered the sentries’ permissions and wondered whether the attackers were searching for Miatila.
  • Monrojina confronted Mo Shi, who said she had found her by sensing a scent like Ye Qiyan’s and asked for help obtaining a Card Sequence.
  • Ye Qiyan collected spoils from the Resource Baron as the Alphat stopped shaking and the rebels’ attack ended.
  • Popei approached Ye Qiyan and invited him to a banquet on behalf of City Lord Joel.

Ch. 688True freedom

Ye Qiyan rejected an invitation to a banquet and refused to deny the Imperial Sequence’s violent reputation, then considered leaving the City to pursue Miatila and the Fork in Destiny. With the Guild Competition set for the next day, he wondered whether he could trigger the Fork in Destiny again.

  • Ye Qiyan told Popei that the Imperial Sequence’s destructive acts were true and asked when Train System chat access would return.
  • After communication resumed, Ye Qiyan exchanged messages with Shaya, Zhao Xi, and Zhuxing Tu, who promised him a gift.
  • Ye Qiyan asked Zhuxing Tu about Miatila, but she said she did not know and offered to pay a price to find out.
  • Ye Qiyan reflected that he wanted to explore Miatila and Ultraspace more than compete in the Guild Competition.
  • Ye Qiyan recalled that Ascension had let him reenter a Platform World and decided to try triggering the Fork in Destiny again.

Ch. 689Train Level: 19

Ye Qiyan secretly performed Ascension on his train from a hotel rooftop, reaching the Endless Wasteland and raising the train to level 19. The system offered him a choice to resume his Conquest Adventure, while Ye Qiyan learned how City worlds interacted with the Train System and treasure hunting.

  • Ye Qiyan released his train onto the hotel rooftop, blocked the entrance, and used [Pride] to keep people from noticing his Ascension.
  • Ye Qiyan started Ascension, and his train plunged through the Void into the Endless Wasteland as observers aboard the Alphat noticed the destruction around the hotel.
  • Mo Shi watched the dazzling light from the Pearl Light Arena, while other witnesses debated whether they had seen a Dragon or a train.
  • Ye Qiyan accelerated through swarms of monsters and completed the upgrade, raising his train to level 19 and prompting the system to offer him a choice to continue his Conquest Adventure.
  • Ye Qiyan asked why WALL-E could not search for treasure in the City, and the system explained that City worlds had traded away their Platform World status for its protection and that permissions could be bought with enough Train Coins.

Ch. 690[Miatila · Ultraspace!]

Ye Qiyan chose the Miatila · Ultraspace stop and uncovered Miatila, a huge mechanical device, after passing the space’s test of resolve. The system gave him a hidden quest to activate Miatila, pass its Trial, and hand it over.

  • Ye Qiyan chose to continue adventuring and selected Platform Two, Miatila · Ultraspace.
  • Ye Qiyan entered the strange, boundaryless space and sent the Nanite Swarm, Augustine’s Mechs, the Giant Eagle, and Demon Raven to explore.
  • The absolute quiet put Ye Qiyan’s companions and machines to sleep, but Ye Qiyan awakened and realized the space was testing their will to move forward.
  • Ye Qiyan saw streams of light form a path to a transparent gate, behind which stood a huge white mechanical device: Miatila.
  • The system triggered a hidden quest asking Ye Qiyan to activate Miatila, pass its Trial, and hand it over.

Ch. 691A name

Ye Qiyan used his Blasphemy Card, Anchor, to bypass the locked door in Ultraspace and discovered a storage device containing the Train System’s incomplete True Name, Miatila. After learning its history and that opening the device would give the system its name, he opened it to claim the promised reward.

  • Ye Qiyan tried the door in Ultraspace, found it required one of four Keys, and used Anchor’s abilities to pass through it without a key.
  • He appraised the device beyond the door and learned it was a Level 12 storage device containing an intelligence named Miatila, the Train System’s incomplete name.
  • The system told Ye Qiyan that the Golden Race had purchased its name, and that Train Conductor Joel had placed Ultraspace there while searching for the remaining Keys.
  • Ye Qiyan learned the two missing Keys were already in the city and held by human Train Conductors.
  • Ye Qiyan opened the device, expecting to give the Train System its name and receive a reward.

Ch. 692Train System · Miatila (II)

Ye Qiyan activated the storage device, triggering a Train System update that gave the system intelligence the True Name Miatila and permanently bound it to him. The update granted Ye Qiyan powerful new authorities, while the Void God Court learned that Space had lost authority to his Blasphemy Card and resolved to confront him at a level 11 platform.

  • Ye Qiyan activated the storage device, and the Train System announced an update that left Train Conductors and major factions unable to learn its contents.
  • The Void God Court discovered that Space's authority was declining after the power behind Ye Qiyan's Blasphemy Card reclaimed its authority over space.
  • Space identified Ye Qiyan's Blasphemy Card as the cause, and another Supreme being vowed that they would act when Ye Qiyan reached a level 11 platform.
  • Gray Fog sensed that the update might affect its cooperation with the Train System but received no explanation.
  • The update bound Miatila, the Train System intelligence with a True Name, permanently to Ye Qiyan and awarded him Platform World authority and one use of The End · Miatila.
  • Ye Qiyan learned that Miatila's name could speed its own progress and wondered whether the system itself could bring about the End.

Ch. 693Collecting the space · Returning to the City

Ye Qiyan took Miatila Ultraspace into his Level 12 storage device and returned to the Alphat Mothership as the Guild Competition day began. At the research institute, Joel discovered the space had vanished and freed his train from its old promise so it could seek true freedom.

  • Ye Qiyan learned that Miatila Ultraspace could be stored as an item and bound the Ultraspace Storage Device to himself.
  • Ye Qiyan chose to take the entire space, then used the Anchor to voyage back to the Train Conductor Grand Hotel.
  • Ye Qiyan noted that the Guild Competition and Stasia and Alice’s arrival were due that day, and set out to retrieve the roadblock.
  • Joel told Popei that surveillance showed no sign of who had taken Miatila Ultraspace and said they would no longer be bound by their promise.
  • Popei bowed as Joel ordered the crew to set out in search of true freedom.

Ch. 694A city on the verge of breaking apart

On the day the Guild Competition began, City Lord Joel announced that the Nation on the Ship would leave the Capsule Tunnel and return to the Wasteland, giving everyone outside the city ten days to depart. He promised to move the ordinary residents aboard the Alphat, leaving the city to drift through space as a true Nation on the Ship.

  • Ye Qiyan read the Public Chatroom messages, where Stasia invited the others to her concert and Zhuxing Tu warned that the day would be interesting.
  • Monrojina messaged Ye Qiyan that anything significant would happen during the Guild Competition, then left her message unfinished.
  • Joel addressed the city, declared that he was no longer bound by his promises, and offered two keys, a Level 8 Item, and 300 Train Coins as prizes for the individual competition winner.
  • Joel announced that the four ships would return to their Carriage forms and that everyone outside the Nation on the Ship had to leave within ten days.
  • Joel said he would transfer the urban area aboard the Alphat so the ordinary residents could remain in space as the Nation on the Ship.

Ch. 695Upgrade options for a level 19 train

As Joel prepared to leave the Nation on the Ship, Ye Qiyan opened the level 19 upgrade options before heading to the Guild Competition. The system presented four costly upgrades, and he began inspecting their effects while scrambling to cover a small shortfall in Train Coins.

  • Joel suppressed the troublemakers, gave ordinary people ten days to decide whether to stay, and arranged for other Cities to take those who wanted to leave.
  • Joel's former train crew returned to his side, and he planned to set off in ten days.
  • Ye Qiyan opened the upgrade options for his level 19 train and discovered that all four options cost 1,000 Train Coins, leaving him 62 coins short of buying them all.
  • Ye Qiyan examined the Transboundary Enhancer for Weaponry carriages, the Massive Train Space Expansion, and the Spatial Matrix enhancement card, noting their potential uses.

Ch. 696Purchasing the options

Ye Qiyan examined the upgrade options, bought the Module Enhancement Card Matrix and Sacred Honey Syrup, and considered how the syrup could enable another self-ascension. He also noticed that the Guild Competition allowed unaffiliated Train Conductors to enter and questioned the City Lord Joel’s motives.

  • Ye Qiyan studied the Sacred Honey Syrup and Heavenly Realm Stimulant Elixir, then reflected on how Train Coins and advancement created a virtuous cycle for those who kept moving forward and a vicious one for those who stagnated.
  • Ye Qiyan used the Demon Card: Pride to survey the City and saw Wanderers who had traded away their trains for permanent residency.
  • Ye Qiyan checked the Guild Competition rules and found no requirement to belong to a guild, while noticing that entry was no longer limited to the two newest batches of Train Conductors.
  • Ye Qiyan spent 2,000 Train Coins to buy the Module Enhancement Card Matrix and Sacred Honey Syrup.
  • Ye Qiyan realized that drinking the syrup would bring his stamina and mental energy to 400 points, possibly allowing him to undergo self-ascension again.

Ch. 697Stamina: 400/Hyperspace

Ye Qiyan drank Sacred Honey Syrup, which strengthened his Astral Sacred Crest and raised his maximum Stamina to 400. He then Ascended a Module Enhancement Card into an Ultraspace Matrix card, creating a private hyperspace for his train, though entering it left a rift behind.

  • Ye Qiyan drank the Sacred Honey Syrup, and the Astral Sacred Crest absorbed its holy effects and gained resistance to them.
  • Ye Qiyan's maximum Stamina increased from 350 to 400, and he demonstrated his greater strength by punching through his bed.
  • Ye Qiyan used Ascension on the Module Enhancement Card · Spatial Matrix, spending 300 Stamina and 300 Spirit to transform it into a Module Enhancement Card · Ultraspace Matrix.
  • Ye Qiyan used the enhanced card to upgrade his Storage Matrix, removing its daily storage limit and allowing permitted units to enter and leave the space.
  • Ye Qiyan opened an azure spatial doorway and saw his train inside the private hyperspace, then realized entering it left a rift in his original location.

Ch. 698Preparing to compete

The Supreme · Space raged over the Blasphemy Card stealing its authority, while Fate urged it to wait five years for the human responsible. Ye Qiyan registered for the expanded competition under the vampire identity Li Xiaosheng, while members of the Future Guild struggled with fading memories of the previous day.

  • The Supreme · Space destroyed and reshaped worlds in anger after the Blasphemy Card stole its authority.
  • Fate predicted that the human would reach a Level 11 Platform World within five years, and The Supreme · Space began preparing for their arrival.
  • Joel extended the competition again, with entrants assigned battle-royale-style matches according to their registration times.
  • Ye Qiyan disguised himself as the vampire Li Xiaosheng and used Bewitchment to register without undergoing the required tests.
  • Ye Qiyan put away his Competitor Ticket, recalled his arrangement to watch with Zhao Xi, and vanished using Sky-Seizing Wings.
  • Daxim trembled and Zhao An struggled to remember, while Shangguan Yingxue retained Ye Qiyan's name despite her fading memories.

Ch. 699Guild Competition: Opening

Shangguan Yingxue struggled to remember Ye Qiyan as the Guild Competition began, while Ye Qiyan watched the opening team match beside Zhao Xi and Shaya. Monrojina manipulated the circumstances to make Daxim use his Demon Card, and she targeted a gifted Future Guild contestant to ensure her plan succeeded.

  • Shangguan Yingxue nearly lost herself while trying to remember Ye Qiyan, but Mo Shi interrupted her and led her toward the competition.
  • Ye Qiyan sat between Zhao Xi and Shaya at Pearl Light Arena, and the Guild Competition officially began.
  • The Future Guild entered its first team match with Mo Shi, Shangguan Yingxue, Zhao An, Daxim, and other contestants.
  • Daxim feared that Altos was watching him and resolved to fight without using his Demon Card.
  • Monrojina explained that she wanted Daxim to use his Demon Card in front of Ye Qiyan, then used Riot Strings to control a gifted girl on the Future Guild team.

Ch. 700A familiar presence~

The Guild Competition turned against the Future Guild when Monrojina revealed her three level 8 magical beasts and reversed the fight. As Daxim was tormented in the Arena, Ye Qiyan sensed a familiar presence from him: a Demon Card.

  • Anjie summoned Allens, whose level 8 mechanical form overwhelmed the opposing guild’s members.
  • Monrojina controlled the bespectacled woman and unleashed three level 8 gem magical beasts, shifting the battle in her guild’s favor.
  • Shangguan Yingxue considered retreating, but Don Quixote charged into battle and Mo Shi used her Death Shadow talent to fire a bullet of Death Energy.
  • Monrojina’s controlled woman repeatedly attacked and secretly healed Daxim, while a voice in his mind urged him to use his Demon Card.
  • Ye Qiyan sensed the presence of a Demon Card from Daxim and realized why he had found him interesting.
