Appearance
- Squad uniform: Wears the Uchiha squads’ distinctive black uniform bearing the clan’s fan emblem 88 90.
- Susanoo armor: Manifests pale yellow energy armor around his body 202.
- Eight Gates transformations: Opening five gates enlarges his muscles and makes his veins prominent; the Seventh Gate produces blue sweat vapor, while the Gate of Death surrounds him with blood-red steam 124 125 202.
Personality
Raimei is combative, boastful, and eager to claim powerful opponents before his companions can. He challenges the Fourth Raikage with excitement rather than fear, immediately claims Imu as his opponent, and becomes frustrated when Madara also wants to fight Yamamoto 125 211 238.
His loyalty to the Uchiha outweighs respect for established authority. He refuses to abandon assigned targets because they are the daimyo’s relatives, dismisses the daimyo’s guards as dogs, and rejects the Celestial Dragons’ claims to godhood in favor of the Uchiha Clan 90 202.
He carries out collective punishment without hesitation, including exterminating ministers’ households and participating in the destruction of the Land of Iron. Nevertheless, the daimyo’s accidental death briefly unsettles him: he composes himself, reports the incident to Fugaku, and accepts responsibility for the mission’s outcome 89 92 144.
His impulsiveness also appears outside combat. He eats unfamiliar food-bearing plants despite Leidong’s warning and grows impatient when no opponent arrives at Sabaody, prompting him to propose attacking Mary Geoise directly 199 209 210.
Abilities & Skills
God’s Blessing — Comprehensive Enhancement
One of Raimei’s Mangekyō techniques strengthens him across physical and ninjutsu-related attributes 60.
- Enhances physique, speed, reflexes, chakra reserves, and ninjutsu power.
- Has no fixed time limit, but requires sufficient eye power to maintain 60.
God’s Blessing — Positive-State Lock
His second identically named technique locks his current positive condition and prevents negative status effects from affecting him for three minutes 60.
- Enables him to exploit otherwise fatal forbidden techniques; Seiichi specifically recommends the Eight Gates and Reaper Death Seal after learning its effects 60.
- Used before opening the Gate of Death against A. After winning, Raimei deactivates God’s Blessing, returns to normal physical condition, and automatically leaves the Gate of Death state 124 125.
- Its protection is time-limited, not permanent immortality 60.
Eight Gates and Taijutsu
Raimei’s fighting style centers on physical enhancement and direct, overwhelming attacks 121 163.
- Uchiha Style: Wave Strong Fist: Meets A’s Lariat while using the Fourth Gate, although the impact sends him crashing through trees 122.
- Seventh Gate — Gate of Wonder: Uses it during his battle with A; by his encounter with Saint Charlos, he can open it without injury 124 202.
- Eighth Gate — Gate of Death: Combines it with God’s Blessing to use its lethal power without suffering the normal fatal outcome in his battle against A 124 125.
- Night Guy: Forms his red steam into a dragon-shaped attack and delivers a kick powerful enough to warp space. It obliterates A and later tears a world-boundary rift when used against Imu 125 211.
- Technique preference: Avoids Evening Elephant because he considers it less imposing than Night Guy. During his protected three-minute window, he favors repeated use of his ultimate attack 125.
Susanoo
Raimei uses Susanoo both as a large combat construct and as close-fitting armor 91 202.
- Kills Chiriku with a single Susanoo punch 91.
- Blocks gunfire with pale yellow Susanoo armor 202.
- Contributes eye power alongside his companions to transform Gyuki into a gigantic, multicolored armored form for the assault on Mary Geoise 210.
Genjutsu
Raimei is not particularly proficient in genjutsu, but his Sharingan still provides effective perceptual interference 91.
- Secretly alters part of Asuma’s perception during their fight.
- Creates an opening that allows another Uchiha to stab and behead Asuma 91.
Earth Release and Mobility
- Earth Release: Turns over scorched ground to bury battle traces, then levels and compacts the soil after destroying estates 89.
- Body Flicker Technique: Evades Asuma’s Dust Wind Technique during the fighting at the Daimyo’s Mansion 91.
Equipment / Items
- Power Level Scouter — Uses it to assess Saint Charlos; the device cannot register a power level for him 202.
- Storage scrolls — Carries confiscated valuables out of the Land of Fire’s capital in an enormous scroll roughly half a person’s height 92.
History
Ninth Squad and the Land of Fire Capital
As captain of the Ninth Squad, Raimei reports the capture of spies investigating the Uchiha Clan to Fugaku. After tracing them to the Land of Fire’s capital, he selects thirty subordinates and travels there openly, without disguising their affiliation 88.
His squad destroys nine ministers’ households in less than an hour and a half. They confiscate valuables, burn the estates, and flatten the grounds with Earth Release. Finding the estates of the daimyo’s nephew and son-in-law deserted, they loot and destroy those properties as well 89.
Chiriku summons him to the Daimyo’s Mansion, where Raimei maintains that the raids were ordered by the Uchiha Clan Head against proven threats. The daimyo attempts to settle the dispute by demanding the seized wealth and a thirty-percent stake in the Uchiha Factory. Raimei refuses to leave without his remaining targets, provoking a confrontation with the guards and Twelve Guardian Ninja 89 90.
Raimei kills Kazuma and Seito, defeats Chiriku with Susanoo, and uses genjutsu to help a squad member kill Asuma. The daimyo also dies: Raimei realizes that a chakra blade he punched away during the battle struck the ruler in the head 91 92.
After looting and destroying the mansion, Raimei returns to report to Fugaku. News of the incident alarms the other daimyo, whose governments move toward a joint declaration of war against Konoha 92.
Battle Against Kumogakure
Assigned to Fugaku’s force, Raimei announces that he has mastered the Eight Gates and wants to challenge A. Their initial clash sees him intercept the Raikage’s Lariat with the Fourth Gate, only to be hurled through trees 121 122.
He later confronts A with the Seventh Gate open. When A attempts to reach Killer B, Raimei activates God’s Blessing, opens the Gate of Death, and forces a decisive exchange. His Night Guy overcomes A’s Hell Stab: One-Finger Nukite, leaving only a fragment of the Raikage’s metal belt. Raimei returns to normal as the Uchiha and Konoha forces cheer his victory 124 125.
Imperial Appointment and the Land of Iron
During Seiichi’s governmental reorganization, Raimei becomes head of the independent Assassination Division, reporting directly to the emperor 144.
Seiichi then orders Raimei and Leidong to destroy the Land of Iron with fifty Mangekyō Sharingan users and ten thousand jōnin. Over three days, they wipe out everyone outside the imperial forces. The country’s destruction on December 31, Konoha Year 54 completes the Uchiha Empire’s unification of the Shinobi World 144.
Raimei subsequently joins the expedition to ancient ruins, leaving a blood vial behind before Kaguya teleports the explorers away. By the later account of their development, he has reached Six Paths level 159 163.
Travels in the Pirate World
Raimei accompanies Seiichi’s party in the Pirate World and kicks down Arlong Park’s gate before the confrontation with Arlong 170.
Later, he travels with Group Four, which includes Shisui, Yanren, Leidong, Mu, and Gyuki. He samples unusual food-bearing plants in the Forest of Temptation and supports visiting Sabaody Archipelago. During the journey, his question about their heading exposes Yanren’s lack of directions; Mu discovers they have flown the opposite way 199 200.
At Sabaody, Saint Charlos orders the arrest of those who have not knelt. Raimei opens five gates, kills most of the bodyguards, dodges Charlos’s shot, and breaks his arm. Protected by Susanoo armor, he then kills Charlos with an energy attack and proclaims the Uchiha the only true God Clan 202.
Mary Geoise and Imperial Consolidation
Bored with waiting for opposition, Raimei proposes using an empowered Gyuki to attack Mary Geoise. He persuades Shisui and the others to participate, contributing eye power to Gyuki’s armored transformation 209 210.
When Imu appears, Raimei claims her as his opponent and immediately uses the Gate of Death and Night Guy. His kick tears a rift between worlds and sends her into it, annihilating both her body and soul. The attack draws Seiichi and Hikari to the scene 211.
Following the Pirate World’s submission to the empire, Seiichi sends Raimei against an alliance of underworld rulers and major pirates. He defeats them and refuses Shanks’s request for mercy, sinking Shanks, the Red Hair Pirates, and their dismantled ship 213.
Bleach World
Upon entering the Bleach world near the Battle of Karakura Town, Raimei eagerly selects Yamamoto as his opponent, only for Madara to claim the same fight 238.
At the Soul King’s chamber, he initially hopes for another battle. Seeing the Soul King’s severely disabled condition leaves him stunned, and he departs with Seiichi and the others without fighting him 307.
