Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Elite jōnin; Three-Tomoe Sharingan 1 His starting strength when his past-life memories awaken; he considers himself unable to survive a confrontation with Itachi and Obito.
All-around Kage Level; dual Kamui Mangekyō Sharingan 1 His first check-in increases his chakra, mental power, combat experience, and overall strength. He selects dual Kamui as his ocular ability.
Right-eye Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan 5 A system reward guarantees successful Mangekyō fusion. Fusing Obito’s right eye removes his right-eye Kamui’s time limit and attack restriction, eliminates transportation delays, and begins merging their dimensions.
Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan in both eyes 11 Fuses Obito’s other Mangekyō into his left eye. His strength increases severalfold, while long-range Kamui becomes much faster and less costly. The system assesses him as “one of the Shinobi World’s strongest.”
Mount Myōboku Sage Mode 25 Obtained through a check-in rather than conventional training; he can enter the mode immediately. Unlocks a chain-check-in objective for Perfect Sage Mode.
Ryūchi Cave Sage Mode; Peak Super Kage assessment 30 Obtains a second Sage Mode through a check-in. His system panel lists both versions and assesses his overall strength as “Peak Super Kage.”
Hanzō’s peak strength; Strong Kage swordsmanship 43 An Amegakure check-in further improves his chakra and taijutsu. His swordsmanship alone rises from barely Kage Level to Strong Kage; this is an additional specialization, not a reduction in his overall rank.

Background

Feng Yao was a Naruto fan in his previous life who died suddenly after staying up late reading novels. He was subsequently reborn into the Uchiha Clan from birth, rather than taking over an existing person’s body. His memories of that previous life awakened in Konoha Year 56, when he learned that the clan’s planned coup—and the massacre he expected to follow—was only three days away 1 11.

Before regaining those memories, he had already become a jōnin and a member of the Konoha Military Police Force. He, Shisui, and Itachi were known as the Three Uchiha Prodigies. He was also Shisui’s friend and had visited Fugaku’s home with him when Sasuke was little 2 3 6 12.

As a child, Feng Yao defended Izumi from a group of Konoha villagers who were bullying her. Their relationship developed into that of childhood sweethearts 44.

Appearance

  • Hair and features: Long black hair, later described as shoulder-length, with sharply defined features 1 13 15.
  • Clothing: A long, dark-blue robe distinctive to the Uchiha Clan 1 13.
  • Weapons: A black sword at his waist; after taking Obito’s possessions, he also carries the Uchiha Gunbai across his back 1 5 13.
  • Eyes: His initial Mangekyō has a black wheel-shaped pattern. After fusion, his Eternal Mangekyō is described as a complex, straight-wheeled spiral 1 5 34.

Personality

Feng Yao places the Uchiha Clan’s survival above loyalty to Konoha. His attachment is personal: he considers himself a genuine Uchiha, and rejects the idea that greater individual strength alone can resolve generations of hostility toward his clan. This leads him to favor relocation over becoming Hokage or founding a village that he would have to defend indefinitely 10 11.

He combines decisive planning with coercion and extreme violence. He threatens Sasuke’s life to force Fugaku to confront Itachi, uses Kotoamatsukami to secure Orochimaru’s loyalty, and destroys the Sarutobi and Shimura compounds during the Uchiha’s departure. His concern for his own people does not extend equally to Konoha’s other inhabitants 2 14 22 37.

With people under his protection, he is often gentle and informal. He encourages Naruto, patiently emphasizes fundamentals in training, and forbids Orochimaru from treating Karin and her mother as experimental subjects. He is also openly appreciative of Izumi’s quiet support 12 16 20 22 23 44.

Despite his confidence, he prepares for threats that could endanger others. He initially avoids confronting Nagato without overwhelming strength and later delays Itachi’s departure because Pain’s wide-area techniques could harm the clan 16 22.

Abilities & Skills

Invincible Check-in System

The system grants rewards at eligible locations and displays a private status panel 1.

  • Location rewards: Include Kage Level strength, customizable Mangekyō abilities, guaranteed eye fusion, two Sage Modes, and Hanzō’s peak strength 1 5 25 30 43.
  • Irregular availability: Feng Yao cannot obtain a reward simply by calling the system whenever he wishes; check-ins become available at particular locations 4 13.
  • Absolute Control: Receives three uses of an ability that controls one target for one second while “ignoring all rules” 1.
  • Secrecy: He conceals both the system and his reincarnated identity from others 34.

Dual Kamui

His chosen Mangekyō ability combines long-range spatial warping with transportation and intangibility 1.

  • Long-range attack: His left eye warps away the middle of a tree approximately one hundred meters away during his first test 1.
  • Transportation: Moves himself and others into the Kamui Dimension; he pulls Deva Path Pain inside before Pain can unleash repulsive force 1 33.
  • Intangibility: After the right-eye Eternal Mangekyō fusion, he can remain intangible indefinitely and attack without becoming vulnerable 5.
  • Improved left eye: Its absorption speed increases enormously after fusion. Flying Thunder God is specifically identified as fast enough to evade it 11.
  • Earlier limitations: Before fusion, intangibility lasts only a few minutes and prevents him from attacking while it is active; he also remains concerned about Mangekyō blindness 1 5.

Kamui Dimension

His original dimension is a bright, apparently endless plain, separate from Obito’s space 1.

  • Internal teleportation: He can mark locations within it and teleport between them 1.
  • Expansion: Fusion with Obito’s dimension introduces mountains and valleys, making it resemble a small world 5.
  • Mass relocation: He tells the elders that its capacity is theoretically limitless and that he can admit people and open or close access at will 17.
  • Confinement: Uses it to isolate Orochimaru, negotiate privately with Pain, and fight the Eight-Tails 14 34 50.
  • Known exception to isolation: Nagato’s connection to the Six Paths of Pain remains intact across the dimensional boundary 33.

Susanoo

Feng Yao manifests a golden Susanoo and later deploys its complete or Perfect form 7 27 37 38.

  • Close defense: A skeletal manifestation blocks a Root ninja’s sword strike and crushes the attacker 7.
  • Summon combat: Uses full-body Susanoo and clones to overwhelm Jiraiya’s summoned toads 27.
  • Large-scale destruction: Its sword strike destroys the Uchiha compound and razes the Sarutobi and Shimura compounds, killing thousands of their members 37.
  • Deterrence: The display forces Konoha’s defenders to accept the Uchiha’s departure 38.

Genjutsu and Mental Control

His initial system reward includes Kage-Level genjutsu, further strengthened by his Mangekyō 3.

  • Resistance: Itachi’s Tsukuyomi fails against him, as does the toad sages’ Toad Confrontation Chant 3 27.
  • Direct restraint: Traps Fugaku, Orochimaru, and Kabuto in illusions 2 14.
  • Izanami: Uses it to force Itachi to confront his failures, then spares his life 5 6.
  • Kotoamatsukami: Uses Shisui’s eye, carried by a crow summon, to secure Orochimaru’s allegiance 14.
  • Jinchūriki control: Controls Naruto’s tailed-beast transformation against Root and later subdues Killer B and the Eight-Tails 7 10 48 50.
  • Izanagi: Listed among his skills, though no activation by Feng Yao is documented in the supplied events 11 30.

Sage Modes

He acquires the Mount Myōboku and Ryūchi Cave versions of Sage Mode directly through check-ins 25 30.

  • Immediate use: Mount Myōboku Sage Mode feels innate, allowing him to enter it without the usual training period 25.
  • Strength enhancement: By Chapter 30, his strength with Sage Mode is described as approaching the Six Paths level 30.
  • Unfinished objective: Perfect Sage Mode requires check-ins at all Three Great Sage Lands. Only Mount Myōboku and Ryūchi Cave are documented as completed 25 30.

Swordsmanship, Taijutsu, and Ninjutsu

  • Taijutsu: Shatters Itachi’s Susanoo with a single kick 5 6.
  • Swordsmanship: Uses Uchiha Style Swordsmanship and later gains Hanzō’s peak combat experience, bringing his swordsmanship alone to Strong Kage Level 1 43.
  • Fire Release: His skill panel lists the Great Fireball Technique and Phoenix Flower Jutsu 1 30.
  • Mobility and clones: Uses the Body Flicker Technique and Crow Clone 1 27 48.
  • Instruction: Teaches Naruto and Sasuke water walking to build chakra control before more advanced ninjutsu 22.

Knowledge of the Shinobi World

His past-life memories provide information about hidden identities, bloodlines, future conflicts, and the Ōtsutsuki threat 11 14 34 45.

  • Political leverage: Reveals Obito’s identity and the origin of Nagato’s Rinnegan 34.
  • Research direction: Assigns Orochimaru work on Hashirama cells, White Zetsu cells, Impure World Reincarnation, and material from Sasuke intended for research into Indra’s chakra 14 16 21 22.
  • Claimed foresight: Tells Nagato that his eyes can see the past and future to conceal the actual source of his knowledge 34.
  • Visual demonstrations: Uses genjutsu to show Nagato and Konan future events, including their deaths, the Fourth Shinobi World War, and later Ōtsutsuki invasions 45.

Equipment & Summons

  • Black sword — His regular weapon, carried at his waist and used to sever Danzō’s right arm 1 8.
  • Uchiha Gunbai — Taken from Obito’s Kamui Dimension. He uses it to generate a tornado that scatters incoming ninjutsu 5 48.
  • Crow summon — His original summoning companion; carries transplanted Sharingan, including Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami eye 4 14.
  • Ibuse — Becomes his second summoning beast after he signs a summoning contract 44.

Relationships

  • Uchiha Izumi — Childhood sweetheart. She supports him without intruding on his responsibilities, and they share a dango date after the clan’s relocation 44.
  • Shisui Uchiha — Friend and fellow Uchiha prodigy. Feng Yao considers restoring him through an improved Impure World Reincarnation to strengthen the clan 3 6 30.
  • Uchiha Setsuna — Elder who proposes Feng Yao’s appointment as clan head and helps execute his defensive and relocation plans 2 11 17.
  • Fugaku Uchiha — Predecessor and subordinate. Initially coerced into opposing Itachi, he comes to regard Feng Yao as the clan’s best hope 2 6.
  • Itachi Uchiha — Initially an enemy whose planned massacre Feng Yao prevents. After defeating and sparing him, Feng Yao includes him in the clan’s plans 5 6 22 43.
  • Sasuke Uchiha — Student who calls him “Brother Feng Yao.” Feng Yao explains the clan’s conflict with Konoha and secretly collects his hair for Orochimaru’s research 21 22.
  • Naruto Uzumaki — Student and protective younger companion. Feng Yao promises Minato and Kushina that he will look after Naruto, although he previously controlled Naruto as a weapon against Root 7 10 21 22 24.
  • Orochimaru — Subordinate researcher whose loyalty is initially imposed through Kotoamatsukami. Feng Yao values his scientific abilities and supplies him with information and research material 14 16 22.
  • Karin and Xiang Nai — Rescued from Kusagakure and placed under Orochimaru’s protection. Karin becomes attached to Feng Yao and is disappointed to find Izumi beside him 15 16 44.
  • Nagato / Pain — Initially an assassination threat, then an ally who entrusts Amegakure and Akatsuki to him 19 34 47 50.
  • Konan — Becomes his deputy while retaining responsibility for monitoring his conduct 47.
  • Jiraiya — Political opponent and defeated sparring partner. Feng Yao challenges his assumptions about Naruto’s welfare and Konoha’s treatment of the Uchiha 24 27.
  • Danzō Shimura and Hiruzen Sarutobi — Principal political enemies. Feng Yao exposes Danzō’s stolen Sharingan and rejects Hiruzen’s demand that the clan remain in Konoha 8 10 37 38.
  • Obito Uchiha — Enemy whose Mangekyō eyes Feng Yao takes and fuses with his own 4 5 11 34.
