• Naruto befriended Sasuke and Hinata through fishing, meals, and visits, while Hiruzen arranged for Sasuke to spend time with Naruto and cautioned Itachi to keep Naruto’s identity from the Uchiha clan.
• At the Academy, Naruto declared that he wanted to become Hokage, Hinata said she wanted to see him achieve that dream, and Sasuke said he wanted to become Naruto’s big brother.

Itachi and Tenzo seized Root and crushed an Uchiha rebellion while Naruto reunited with his parents, welcomed Karin into his life, and grew closer to Sasuke and his classmates. The arc ended with Itachi leaving for Root after the massacre, as a soul entered his belly.

• Danzo’s Root Base was devastated by Shisui’s Spiral Gun, and Sarutobi later took control of Root while Danzo resisted handing it over.
• Itachi and Tenzo subdued Root’s members and took command, with Itachi using his Mangekyō on Otsu and the others.
• Hashirama helped Naruto and Kurama play cards, then stopped Naruto from opening Kurama’s seal when Minato appeared, and Minato and Kushina later reunited with Naruto in the Sealing Space.

Tobirama and Hashirama guided Itachi and Naruto as Danzo’s plot against Naruto ended in Danzo’s death, while Sasuke began training to surpass Naruto. The story left Naruto and his friends enjoying a hot-spring outing as Itachi and Tobirama continued their work together.
