  • Ōnoki urged the Iwa Shinobi to continue attacking, hoping they would kill the Third Raikage before Konoha could turn its attention to them.
  • The Kaguya clan members asked Takahashi Yū to join the fight, and he agreed, declaring that only he would kill the Third Raikage.

  • Ōnoki told Takahashi Yū that it was the end of Iwagakure Year 48, around Konoha Year 49, and that the war was still ongoing.
  • Takahashi Yū called himself a passing brawler and charged at the Third Raikage and Ōnoki.

  • Ōnoki ordered Higashi Shibito to return with the reserves, and the Third Raikage released his summoned creature as the leaders watched the attack.
  • Rasa repeatedly failed to lift his squad above the attackers’ killing-intent spikes, then used Magnet Release: Gold Dust to turn the nearby ground into gold dust.

Ch. 161Still Trying to Run?

Rasa turned the battlefield into a sea of gold dust, but Takahashi Yū trapped him inside a barrier of killing intent and crushed him beneath the dust with a powerful stomp. • Sarutobi confronted Danzo in the Hokage’s office and urged him to stop the advance on Sunagakure, which had agreed to hand over Rasa.
  • Danzo insisted that handing over Rasa would not settle Takahashi’s blood feud and accused Sarutobi of siding with the Land of Wind.

Ch. 166Days Without Takahashi Yū (1)

Orochimaru’s attempts to implant Hashirama cells in Uchiha Fugaku continued to fail, while Hiruko prepared new kekkei-genkai experiments for the western battlefield. Setsuna reflected on how the Uchiha had gained acceptance in Konoha and hurried to answer the Hokage’s summons.

  • Orochimaru’s twelfth Hashirama-cell injection killed Fugaku, who used Izanagi to return alive and surrender another blinded three-tomoe eye.
  • Hiruko warned Orochimaru that only three spare three-tomoe eyes remained for experiments because three were needed as insurance for the Undying Squad’s Mangekyo users.
  • Hiruko learned that volunteers implanted with Explosion Release and Lava Release were stable, then ordered the first group sent to the southwestern battlefield under Gekko Yūma’s command.
  • Hiruko requested Root’s involvement and ordered a full basic load of “Tobirama Number One” and intelligence delivered to the western headquarters.

Ch. 167Days without Takahashi Yū (2)

Setsuna visited Danzo, who appointed an Uchiha as captain of the Third ANBU Division and asked him to advise on Fugaku’s and Shunji’s Mangekyo abilities. After reading their classified records, Setsuna suspected the abilities were fabricated to hide rebellious intentions and fled to review the clan archives.

  • Danzo gave Setsuna an appointment document for the captain of the Third ANBU Division and asked him to name an Uchiha for the post.
  • Danzo asked Setsuna to explain how Fugaku and Shunji could better use their Mangekyo abilities, based on Uchiha records.
  • Setsuna read that Fugaku’s abilities silenced opponents and disrupted chakra, while his other eye drew out potential through self-suggestion.
  • Setsuna read that Shunji’s eyes enabled mental communication, either through a token or by looking at someone, and suspected Fugaku and Takahashi Yū were hiding rebellious plans.
  • Setsuna asked Danzo to let him go home and consult the clan archives, then hurried out of the office.

Ch. 168Shimura Danzō of Another World (1)

Ch. 171Righteous Danzo? No! Murderous Danzo!

Takahashi Yū told Danzo how his life unfolded in another world and warned him against implanting foreign body parts. After Danzo reaffirmed that he was still a Konoha warrior and chose to trust Takahashi Yū, Yū placed a Wave Seed in his heart, granting him power that grew with his killing intent.

  • Danzo reacted with joy to learning that Masato, Lan, Hideki, and many Shimura Clan members had survived, then grew despondent as Takahashi Yū recounted his future failures and hardships.

Meanwhile, Hiruzen Sarutobi negotiated a peace treaty with Ōnoki and the Third Raikage, leaving the Raikage uncertain about Konoha’s leadership and Ōnoki wary of a future conflict.

  • Danzo learned that Ryoma had gone to gather Root members and ordered the remaining Root ninja to collect two years of information on Kirigakure.
  • Takahashi Yū cautioned Danzo that events in Kirigakure might change, while Danzo claimed his spies could foment internal strife.
