As Uchiha Gen examined the machine and gave its stored energy to Gengar, a time disturbance brought a mysterious white-eyed figure through a spatial opening.

• Sarutobi Shinnosuke discovered that Uchiha Ganghuo and Obito Uchiha had awakened identical Mangekyō Sharingan, and Ganghuo erased Shinnosuke’s memories of the events.

On his birthday, Uchiha Gen received Ryūjin Jakka and awakened its flame-based sword force at the cemetery, surprising Hatake Sakumo. After the blade’s heat subsided, Sakumo gave Gen a birthday cake and explained how he had learned the date.

• Hatake Sakumo sensed the sword force forming around Gen and watched as the blade appeared and ignited the cemetery’s fallen leaves.

Hatake Sakumo celebrated Uchiha Gen’s birthday and mentioned that his friend Might Duy was heading to the Land of Water battlefield. On the Eastern Battlefield, Ebisu, Genma Shiranui, and Might Guy were ambushed by the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, who began attacking them.

• Hatake Sakumo told Uchiha Gen that Might Duy was going to the Land of Water battlefield, then took him to celebrate his birthday and collect his presents.
• Ebisu, Genma Shiranui, and Might Guy headed back toward Konoha’s camp while discussing their missions and staying alert.

• Might Guy opened the Gate of Healing and launched Daytime Tiger, smashing Fuguki’s water pufferfish and piercing his Water Rage Waves.
• Juzo Biwa took advantage of Guy’s attack and swung an enormous Kubikiribōchō at the Daytime Tiger.

Might Duy used the Eight Gates to defeat the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and reunited with Might Guy, while Gengar collected their weapons for Uchiha Gen. On the moon, Asura confronted the sealed Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and realized she was repeating commands through her body's instincts.

• Might Duy unleashed the Eight Gates’ crimson steam and killed Suikazan Fuguki and the five remaining members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
• Might Duy explained the Eight Gates to Might Guy, and the two embraced in tears as Gengar secretly collected Samehada and the other Ninja Blades.

• Asura watched Kaguya Ōtsutsuki repeat her plea to be released, then closed his eyes and plunged his alternate dimension into darkness.
• Uchiha Hikari resolved to go to Konoha but realized she did not know the way, so she followed the direction she sensed through [Yachihoko].
• Yahiko shared hard biscuits with children in a war-scarred village and reaffirmed his determination to end war.
• Ōkuninushi told Yahiko that he was about to depart and urged him to keep pursuing his dream without grieving their parting.
• Yahiko asked Ōkuninushi to describe his era, and Ōkuninushi invited him to bring Nagato and Konan to listen.

Ōkuninushi told Yahiko how Shiba’s seed drained the ancient world, triggered disasters, and transformed him into Ōtsutsuki Shibai, a being wielding omniscience and omnipotence. Ōkuninushi was unsure how the final battle ended and warned Yahiko that some of his memories might have been fabricated.

• Ōkuninushi described the peaceful ancient world and the Heavenly Flood and other disasters that followed.
• Ōkuninushi explained that the god Shiba planted a seed in the world’s ley lines, draining the world and causing the disasters.
• Amaterasu Ōmikami, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, Ōkuninushi’s father, and two Mysterious Existences fought Shiba, but the seed took over his body and became the Calamity Tree.
• The tree revealed itself as Ōtsutsuki Shibai and gained power that could make his thoughts and words become reality.
• Ōkuninushi said the gods later gave themselves to restore the world and became Fallen Gods, but he could not recall the battle’s outcome clearly.
• Ōkuninushi told Yahiko that Indra had sealed his memories and that some of the memories might be false.

Yahiko and Konan asked Ōkuninushi about Indra and the history behind his contract. Ōkuninushi described the Calamity Tree's return and the rise of a new god, ending with the world's consciousness asking the surviving gods for help.

• Yahiko asked whether the person who altered Ōkuninushi's memories had also tampered with Nagato's, but Ōkuninushi said Nagato's memory problem was connected to his eyes and left the rest unresolved.
• Konan asked about Indra and Ōkuninushi's contract, prompting Ōkuninushi to recount events from thousands of years earlier.
• Ōkuninushi said Shibai Ōtsutsuki was divided and his father banished the divided body, but Shibai was not completely dead.
• People from Beyond the Stars brought a Calamity Tree Seed, awakening the true Calamity Tree and turning fallen gods, including Amaterasu Ōmikami, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, and Ōkuninushi's father, into Tainted.
• One of the two People from Beyond the Stars betrayed the other and took the Calamity Tree's fruit and things Shibai had left behind, becoming a god who defeated the Tainted and ruled the world while planting more offshoots.
• Ōkuninushi said the world's consciousness later appeared and asked the surviving gods for help.

Ōkuninushi explained how Ōtsutsuki Shibai merged with the world’s consciousness, leading to the Sage of Six Paths and his brother sealing away the deity. He revealed that Indra later devised a way to deal with the world’s corruption, but stopped before explaining the method.

• Yahiko reacted in shock when Ōkuninushi revealed that the Shinobi World was alive.
• Ōkuninushi explained that Ōtsutsuki Shibai had used the Calamity Tree to merge with the world’s consciousness and pursue Ascension, causing widespread disaster.
• Ōkuninushi said the world’s consciousness used humanity’s faith to create the Sage of Six Paths within the deity, who raised him and his younger brother.
• Ōkuninushi recounted how the Sage of Six Paths and his brother sealed away the deity, after which evil spirits returned and spread corruption across the world.

When Little Douzi and other children disappeared, Nagato traced them to Iwagakure ninja heading toward Kusagakure, and Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan flew after them.

• Ōkuninushi explained that Indra absorbed the Tainted into the Sharingan and warned Yahiko’s group about Fallen Gods still scattered across the world.
• Cheng Qian told Yahiko that Little Douzi and several other children had gone missing and showed him a hair ribbon found nearby.
• Nagato used his ocular power on the ribbon and saw Iwagakure ninja abducting the children.
• Yahiko told Konan to prepare their flight and arranged for Cheng Qian and the others to continue toward the Land of Rain.
• Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan flew toward Kusagakure to rescue the children.

After Cheng Qian died, Danzō entered the Dream World seeking the legendary God's Eye. In Konoha, Hiruzen tried to recruit Uchiha Gen for a mission, but Gen walked away despite Hiruzen offering techniques from the Scroll of Seals.
