"So the rubber forest stretched all the way to the lake, and the Tree King had been here all along?"

"But it was a tree, not a fish. Why would it leave that important giant turtle alone and come into the lake?"

Lin Yuan looked to his left, toward the Giant Tree Forest. There was a clear trail left by something enormous moving from the lake onto the shore, presumably the Tree King's tracks.

To his right was the Consortium's team, led by his old acquaintance, the "Manager."

Farther away was the Black Blood Society's team, headed by a burly man with a full beard.

After a moment's thought, Lin Yuan climbed out of the coffin and said to Bai Ling,

"I'm going to have a chat with the Manager. Want to come along?"

Bai Ling shook her head.

"I don't need to... um, since you're not using it anymore, could I borrow the coffin to lie down for a bit?"

Before Lin Yuan could ask, she volunteered an explanation.

"When that giant turtle looked at me earlier, it actually passed on a lot of things. I need an environment where I can recover my sanity and unpack that information in peace."

"I see. Go ahead, then." Lin Yuan nodded.

No wonder the giant turtle had stared so hard at him too. It had probably wanted to pass something on, but unfortunately, he couldn't receive it.

With Lin Yuan's permission, Bai Ling lay down in the coffin without hesitation.

Lin Yuan headed toward the Consortium's team on his own.

Only Lilia remained where she was, blinking.

"Wait, isn't that my coffin? Why did those two decide who got to use it so naturally?"

As soon as Lin Yuan approached the Consortium's team, the Manager came forward to greet him.
