Biodata
| Feature | Value |

| Name | Lilia (莉莉娅) |
| Species/Race | Wooden doll; identified as an eldritch being, though her exact nature is unknown 12 37 |
| Gender | Female |
| Affiliation | Crew of the Lin Yuan 8 |
| Occupation/Role | Lin Yuan’s first crew member; close-range fighter, lookout, and transporter during land exploration 8 9 18 |
| Status | Alive; able to revive repeatedly through her coffin 49 |
| First Appearance | Chapter 7 7 |
Appearance
- Body: A wooden, human-shaped doll with delicate features, scarlet eyes, and slender legs. Her body has detachable components, including her jaw and limbs 7 8 18.
- Clothing: A Gothic outfit that regenerates along with her body when damaged 18 40.
- Signature equipment: An enormous black scythe taller than herself and a pitch-black coffin that follows her 7 12.
- Bearing: She can appear elegant and aristocratic, performing an impeccable courtly curtsy. Her casual speech and scatterbrained behavior usually undermine that impression 7 10.
Personality
Lilia is carefree, impulsive, and blunt, often insulting Lin Yuan without realizing how her remarks sound. She habitually invents nicknames for him, including “Captain Lazybones,” “Captain Coffin Thief,” and “Captain Turtle.” Her confidence frequently exceeds her judgment: she readily volunteers to explore, only to become lost shortly afterward 8 9 18 28.
Despite her threatening introduction, she is not indiscriminately violent. During their first encounter, she refuses to attack the badly injured Lin Yuan, explaining that she only wanted to punish him for blocking her coffin—not kill him. She later enters the water despite her discomfort because she is worried about his condition 7 12.
In combat, Lilia is fearless against opponents who cannot destroy her in one blow, willingly trading injuries for attacks. She nevertheless recognizes her limitations and calls on Lin Yuan when a much stronger enemy appears 18 22 43.
Her memory is unreliable. She retains fragments of extensive knowledge about the sea but often cannot recall crucial details, sometimes knocking on her own head while trying to remember. She attributes this to having slept too long and shows no particular desire to recover her missing memories 8 16.
Abilities & Skills
Resurrection and Regeneration
Lilia can reconstruct damaged parts in place or revive inside her coffin after being destroyed 7 18.
- Repeated resurrection: After Lin Yuan punches her apart, she returns from the coffin unharmed roughly a second later. No revival limit is demonstrated 7.
- Limb reattachment: Severed limbs heal completely when she puts them back into place 18 43.
- Automatic repair: Wounds close after embedded weapons are removed; even a hole through her chest and damage to her outfit regenerate 18 40.
- No demonstrated conventional vital point: The gray caterpillar’s attacks on her chest, head, and limbs fail to prevent her recovery 39 40.
- Limitation: Resurrection does not increase her immediate fighting strength. Powerful enemies and repeated area attacks can destroy her as soon as she emerges, forcing her to remain inside the coffin 19 24.
Physical Attributes and Melee Combat
| Attribute | Documented capability |
|---|---|
| Strength | Approximately 15 in player-stat terms, according to Lin Yuan’s estimate 18 |
| Health | Approximately 250 HP in player-stat terms, according to Lin Yuan’s estimate 18 |
| Stamina | Does not tire or require sleep 19 21 |
| Defense | Ordinary Skeleton Pirates can wound her deeply or sever her limbs; weaker than Lin Yuan’s Active Wooden Armor 18 |
| Range | Primarily close combat; lacks an effective ranged attack against the Rubber Gorilla 43 |
- Attrition fighting: She defeats Skeleton Pirates by continuing to attack while repairing their damage to her body 18.
- Stronger opponents: She kills the Skeleton Pirate Captain despite its slightly superior offense and defense because it cannot destroy her in a single blow 24.
- Distraction: She draws groups of Rubber Beasts into a prolonged melee, opening a route for the Adventurer Group 45 46.
- Utility work: Uses her scythe to fell trees, climb trunks, and dig an escape route 19 24.
Coffin-Based Protection and Recovery
Lilia’s coffin is an inseparable part of her. She knows that they cannot be separated, but does not fully understand its nature 49.
- Exceptional durability: Lin Yuan injures his arm striking it without leaving a mark. It also shelters both of them from the Main Sea creature’s attacks without transmitting the force inside 7 13.
- Captain’s recovery: Through the crew contract, Lin Yuan receives a weakened version of her recovery trait. Resting inside restores his health, damaged weapon compartment, and even his severed ankle 9 13.
- Land exploration: Staying inside stops Lin Yuan’s grounding-related durability loss and gradually repairs him, allowing Lilia to drag him across islands 18.
- Sanity restoration: Bai Ling recovers Sanity while sheltering inside 48.
- Automatic proximity: The coffin follows Lilia underwater, generates a waist-fastened chain on land, and teleports to her if she moves too far away 12 18 49.
Mental Link
While Lin Yuan rests in the coffin, he discovers a connection that lets him observe Lilia’s surroundings and communicate with her mentally 18.
- Enables him to direct her movements and supply questions during conversations 21 39.
- Neither knows whether it comes from the crew contract or the coffin 18.
- Lilia can sense changes in Lin Yuan’s power through their contractual bond 28.
Eldritch Nature and Sanity
- Sanity-attack immunity: The laboratory wraith’s madness-inducing soul flames do not harm her 22.
- Effect on observers: Seeing her causes Bai Ling to lose Sanity during their first encounter 37.
- Detection limitation: Like Lin Yuan, she lacks the Sanity-based discomfort that ordinary players use to detect stronger transcendent powers and follow their traces 41.
Unusual Perception and Knowledge
- Blood analysis: By smearing blood onto her coffin, she identifies it as fifteen-minute-old human blood belonging to a forty-four-year-old man without transcendent powers 38.
- Hidden treasure sensing: Detects an unseen object on the laboratory’s apparently empty platform and recognizes that special power is needed to bring it into their world 22.
- Borrowed memories: Experiences memories from the perspective of Gru, the corrupted treant. These reveal the route to the hidden laboratory; the mechanism is unexplained 21.
- Sea knowledge: Explains the Shallow Sea, Main Sea, Deep Sea, and Abyssal Sea, and recalls powerful Main Sea creatures such as Ice Crystal Giant Pythons and Melville Giant Sharks 8 34.
- Reliability: Her knowledge is limited by memory gaps, including an inability to remember how she herself could become stronger 13 16.
Water Walking and Underwater Limitations
- Runs and stands on the sea’s surface as though it were solid ground 7 12.
- Initially reports that entering seawater makes her dizzy, weak, and unable to exert strength 12.
- When following Lin Yuan into shallow water, she experiences discomfort but not the severe symptoms she expected 12.
- Her discomfort is not permanently resolved: she later refuses routine underwater hunting, despite having entered the water to rescue him 32.
Equipment
- Black coffin — Her resurrection point, protective shelter, and means of transporting Lin Yuan on land. Its material and grade are unidentified. Lin Yuan wonders whether it might be her true body, but this remains speculation 18 24 49.
- Black wooden scythe — Taller than Lilia, exceptionally sturdy and sharp, yet almost weightless to Lin Yuan. Used for fighting, excavation, and timber cutting; Lin Yuan borrows it to salvage Life-Deprived Life Wood from Skull Island’s hull 7 19 24 27.
Background / History
Summoning and Recruitment
Lilia awakens after hearing a summoning voice and feels compelled to become a crew member. She also senses that something bad will happen if she neither obtains a ship nor joins someone else’s crew in time. The reason for this instinct, like much of her earlier history, is missing from her memory 8.
Her first encounter with Lin Yuan becomes a fight after he prevents her from leaving her coffin. Once the misunderstanding is resolved, she identifies the scent of a summons on him and introduces herself formally. A mysterious box in his blueprint subsequently produces the Contract of Fate, which she signs without reading 7 8.
The contract permanently links their fates, requires her to obey his orders and harbor no thoughts of betrayal, and grants her permanent crew status. Lin Yuan’s empty crew cabin becomes “Crew Member Lilia’s Living Quarters” 8.
The Main Sea Creature
After Lin Yuan is dragged toward the depths by invisible chains, Lilia helps him retreat into her coffin. They remain inside until the attacking creature withdraws. She then identifies the Prey Mark placed on him and explains that the creature will attack again after recovering, giving him a limited opportunity to prepare 12 13.
Skull Island
Lilia becomes essential to exploring Skull Island after Lin Yuan discovers that he cannot remain ashore without losing durability. She drags him inside her coffin, defeats the beach’s Skeleton Pirates, and continues inland under his direction through their newly discovered mental link 18.
After the encounter with the Undead Tree, her memories of Gru guide them to the hidden laboratory. She senses its concealed treasure and survives the subsequent spatial-vortex disaster by sheltering in her coffin. Once the shock waves stop, she digs them out and defeats the Skeleton Pirate Captain in a cavern, completing the beginner dungeon and earning Lin Yuan the Paradise Sea Chart 21 22 24.
Rubber Island
While searching the misty jungle for rubber, Lilia finds human blood and analyzes it through her coffin. She subsequently interrupts a gray-robed Diving Club member’s attack on Bai Ling, questions him at Lin Yuan’s prompting, and repeatedly destroys his gray caterpillar, forcing him to expend replacement puppet bodies 38 39 40.
Bai Ling joins their search and supplies the transcendent sensing that Lilia and Lin Yuan lack. Lilia fights Rubber Beasts, serves as a distraction outside the Giant Tree Forest, and continues transporting her captain. During their later dealings with Spotlight, she accompanies Bai Ling to discuss obtaining a ship capable of land travel 41 42 46 49.
Relationships
- Lin Yuan — Captain and permanently contracted crewmate. Their partnership combines constant teasing with practical dependence: she supplies recovery, transportation, and tireless labor, while he handles enemies beyond her strength 8 18 22.
- Bai Ling — Rescued player and exploration companion. Initially frightened by Lilia’s eldritch nature, Bai Ling gradually recognizes her friendliness and helps compensate for her poor navigation and inability to sense transcendent traces 37 41 42 43.
- Gru — Corrupted treant whose memories Lilia experiences after their encounter. No earlier relationship between them is established 21.
