Studying Ryuto

When Ryuto awakened in the Senju camp, Tobirama questioned his origins, independent energy system, and extraordinary recovery. He considered an outsider with unknown power a potential threat to the clan, but Hashirama stopped the interrogation when Ryuto refused to explain further 31.

Tobirama subsequently agreed to spar with Ryuto in exchange for research cooperation. Their tests established Ryuto’s strengths and exposed his lack of combat experience. After failing to reproduce ki through chakra or sealing methods, Tobirama proposed a practical exchange: regular sparring, general Senju taijutsu instruction, and battlefield intelligence in return for demonstrations and combat data 33 34.

He also helped test Ryuto’s theory that surviving near-fatal injuries increased his strength. The controlled fight produced useful endurance and recovery measurements, but Tobirama concluded that conventional methods could not push Ryuto into genuine mortal danger while guaranteeing his survival 35.

When Hashirama and Ryuto departed to train for their deathmatch against Madara and Izuna, Tobirama remained responsible for the camp. He raised security to maximum, doubled patrols, and ordered strict inspections of everyone entering or leaving 46.

Investigating the Hidden Mastermind

After a controlled Izuna gravely wounded Rena while targeting Ryuto, Tobirama investigated the attack with Mito. Comparing Senju, Uchiha, and Uzumaki records revealed recurring incidents of mental manipulation concentrated within those three bloodlines 58 59.

Working with Izuna, he assembled evidence that the clans might share an origin in the Sage of Six Paths: the Senju and Uzumaki inheriting the sage’s body, and the Uchiha inheriting his eye. During the lunar conflict, he rescued Izuna from Tenshu’s puppets and moved Tenshu from the underground laboratory to a marked location on the moon’s surface. Tobirama relayed orders between the alliance’s five battlefronts. When Kaguya incapacitated its strongest fighters, he evacuated them with Flying Thunder God before her killing attack could land, then urgently called for Ryuto 89 90.

After Ryuto was stranded in another dimension, Tobirama used a previously placed Flying Thunder God mark as the link for a massive summoning array. The allied fighters supplied their remaining chakra, allowing him to bring Ryuto back.
