Background / History

Design career

Tang Jiang won top interstellar design awards while studying at the Milan Royal Design Academy. She subsequently established her own brand and studio, becoming a sought-after designer whose haute couture attracted clients from both the entertainment industry and elite social circles 6.

Her brand, S&F (Selling Fantasy), later achieved its highest show-video view count since its founding following a runway presentation featuring Sheng Nian and Yan Feizhuo 90.

Early dating-show appearances

Tang Jiang initially remained unpaired after declining Mu Ran’s invitation 9. During the amusement-park tasks, she completed a solo sabotage mission by taking the roller-coaster seat beside Sheng Nian. Her success earned a Matchmaker Badge and prevented Sheng Nian and Yan Feizhuo from obtaining a Heart-Pounding Badge at that attraction 15.

Although she enjoyed teasing Sheng Nian, she also defended him. When He Gu fell and Sheng Nian came under suspicion, Tang Jiang confirmed that He Gu had fallen on his own, citing both her eyewitness account and the footage seen by her ten million livestream viewers 37.

*Cosmos* competition

Tang Jiang entered Cosmos as the Zerg Queen, able to assume human and butterfly forms from the outset. She reunited with Sheng Nian through her mental link and accompanied him in search of a Life Seed to improve his initially weak character 65 66.

On Fanya Star, she established an underground Zerg nest in resource-rich jungle terrain. She and Sheng Nian formed a temporary alliance with Yan Feizhuo, agreeing to share resources and support his position while developing their own territory 67 69.

Despite initially claiming that she preferred fighting to quiet development, Tang Jiang became engrossed in mining. Once their resources were nearly overflowing, Sheng Nian persuaded her to move out. She assembled a large army and attacked the Empire’s mountain defenses 71. When the opposing factions threatened to concentrate against their alliance, she proposed keeping the Empire occupied while Sheng Nian reinforced Yan Feizhuo against the Federation 72.

During the contest for the Energy Core, Tang Jiang fought in her gigantic blue morpho butterfly form. With Sheng Nian healing her and her allies occupying other opponents, she overwhelmed Jiang Shu and He Gu, forcing them to concede the core. He Gu then broke the agreement by firing quantum-collapse missiles from the Doomsday Fortress while she moved to collect it, killing her avatar 75.

Fashion collaborations and later filming

Tang Jiang styled Sheng Nian and Yan Feizhuo for an Evernight Sky tourism promotion, coordinating their looks after rejecting Yan Feizhuo’s usual stiff suit 51. She later recruited them for a paired runway show, securing Yan Feizhuo’s participation by pointing out that she would otherwise find Sheng Nian another partner 87.

The runway performance became a major success for S&F. Tang Jiang initially objected when Yan Feizhuo wanted to purchase their outfits, saying she had intended to preserve them for a memorial museum; she promptly agreed after learning that she could name her price 90.

Her support for Sheng Nian continued beyond their professional work. She confronted He Gu after his water cannon injured Sheng Nian, welcomed Sheng Nian back after his hospitalization, and later stopped Jiang Shu from pursuing him after another rejected reconciliation attempt 104 122 125.

Tang Jiang eventually gave Sheng Nian seven outfits inspired by her time on the show. She explained that they were thanks for being her muse and clarified that her accompanying romantic offer was only teasing 126.

Finale and afterward

By the final filming in Ink City, Tang Jiang had no intention of making a confession herself and was eager to watch the others confess 170. During the finale livestream, Mu Ran identified them as the two remaining singles in the guests’ group chat 174.

She remained part of the former contestants’ social circle afterward, joining the group outing to Evernight Sky with Sheng Nian, Yan Feizhuo, and their son Yan Yunian 200.

Personality

Tang Jiang is flirtatious, mischievous, and comfortable provoking people who intimidate others. She repeatedly teases Sheng Nian and needles Yan Feizhuo over his possessiveness, although she occasionally retreats when his displeasure becomes too obvious 15 27 62. Sheng Nian eventually regards her much like his own older brother: affectionate company with a wicked sense of humor rather than a romantic prospect 45 62.

Her teasing coexists with a protective streak. She publicly supports Sheng Nian when he is wrongly suspected, challenges He Gu’s tearful apology after Sheng Nian’s injury, and intervenes when Jiang Shu continues to pester him 37 104 125.

In games, Tang Jiang favors direct combat and complains about complicated strategy. Nevertheless, the narration explicitly distinguishes disliking thought from lacking intelligence: when she applies herself, she quickly devises a counterattack against the Empire and Federation 72.

She is also an enthusiastic spectator of other people’s romances. She and Sheng Nian celebrate Chu Yue and Nie Ge’s affectionate gift exchange together, and she approaches Confession Night chiefly as an opportunity to watch the excitement 126 170.
