Ch. 551A Great War Loomed

Mu Bai left Qingtian and traveled east as the Human Race Alliance took over Mu Lan Pavilion’s businesses and prepared for a major war. He sent clones across the Eastern Ridge and returned to the Spirit Taming Sect, where its wary disciples refused to let him in until he revealed his overwhelming Dao Ling pressure.

  • Qingtian left Mu Bai’s flying pleasure boat after Mu Bai explained that he needed essence blood to perfect his Heavenly Demon cultivation.
  • Rao Lin established the Human Race Alliance, took control of Mu Lan Pavilion’s businesses in ninety-seven cities, and renamed them the Human Origin Pavilion as war preparations spread.
  • Mu Bai traveled east by pleasure boat with Mu Lan, Zeng Yuan, and Golden Roc, then sent three clones out near Fuhu Mountain to investigate the region.
  • Mu Bai’s clone arrived at the Spirit Taming Sect and found that Zhou Dekai had strengthened the sect, which was preparing to occupy nearby abandoned sect sites.
  • The Spirit Taming Sect’s patrol challenged Mu Bai, refused to announce him, and remained suspicious even after he gave his name.
  • Mu Bai released his Dao Ling pressure, making the Sect-Guarding Grand Formation falter and leaving the patrol cultivators trembling.

Ch. 552Revisiting old haunts

Mu Bai returned to the Spirit Taming Sect, where its elders welcomed him and offered him a higher position, which he declined. He revisited his old cave abode, the Pill Hall, and Qing Mao Residence, where he reunited with Zhu Da, Wang Chong, and Qing Mao’s aged descendants and companions.

  • Mu Bai learned how the Qing Mao Residence had struggled during his absence and treated Mi Yan’s damaged mind and legs with medicinal pills.
  • Mu Bai bought Flower Ravine Creek Valley from Zhou Wu and brought all 473 residents there aboard the Soul Boat.
  • Mu Lan and Mi Yan grew close, and the residents joyfully explored the valley and settled beside the stream.
  • Golden Roc entertained the children in the shape of a big yellow dog, earning the name Dog Demon.
  • Mu Lan agreed to settle in the valley, while Mu Bai, Zeng Yuan, and the others began building a home by hand.

Ch. 554A Family Reunited

Mu Bai returned to the Haibei Tribe and reunited with Hai Zhan and his brothers after decades apart. As the family gathered for a meal, he was surprised to see Ling'er, who tearfully apologized for losing him years ago.

  • Mu Bai returned to the Haibei Tribe and found Hai Zhan waiting beneath the pearwood tree.
  • Mu Bai embraced the two young boys and greeted the women who were Hai Qing and Hai Dong's wives.
  • Hai Zhan welcomed Mu Bai, shared his Monkey Wine, and told him Hai Chen had already returned.
  • Mu Bai and Hai Chen reunited with an embrace, then Hai Dong and Hai Qing arrived and joined their brothers.
  • The family gathered to eat, and Mu Bai saw Ling'er carrying a dish; she apologized for losing him years earlier.

Ch. 555A Night of Sorrow and Joy

The Haibei Tribe reunited for a night of shared grief and happiness as Hai Zhan toasted their ancestors and Ling'er embraced her family after more than fifty years away. Hai Chen confronted Mu Bai over his past treatment of Ling'er, but Hai Zhan and Ling'er stopped the conflict, and the family ended the night toasting the tribe together.

  • Hai Chen welcomed Mu Bai home and teased him about abandoning Ling'er, while the family gathered to eat and drink.
  • Hai Zhan led the family in toasts to their ancestors and the heroic spirits of the Haibei Tribe, mourning those they had lost and celebrating the descendants who had returned.
  • Ling'er embraced Hai Zhan, Hai Qing, Hai Dong, Hai Chen, and finally Mu Bai, apologizing and weeping after waiting more than fifty years to reunite with her brother.

  • Hai Zhan separated Hai Chen and Mu Bai, and Ling'er urged them not to spoil their reunion; Hai Chen apologized, and both brothers drank together.
  • Mu Bai filled bowls for Hai Zhan and his siblings, and the family raised a final toast to the tribe as their laughter returned.

Ch. 556Speaking frankly

Mu Bai and Hai Chen parted after discussing the coming conflict, Ling'er, and the fate of the world, while Mu Bai remained uncertain about his own choices. He settled people in Flower Ravine Creek Valley and advanced the cultivation of his Inner World, but faced a new dilemma over which Soul Spirits to inscribe on five children.

  • Mu Bai and Hai Chen discussed the coming battle, the world's destined end, and their differing plans before Hai Chen left with Ling'er in the Dragon-Phoenix Carriage.
  • Hai Zhan supported Mu Bai as he continued to consider whether he might make the wrong decision.
  • Mu Bai settled people in Flower Ravine Creek Valley, concealed it with the Five Elements Spirit-Evolving Formation, and began cultivating his Inner World toward perfection.
  • Mu Bai's clone guided the children in cultivation while his true body immersed himself in the Inner World's development.
  • When five children reached the age for Soul Awakening, Artifact Spirit Ancestor urged Mu Bai to inscribe golden crows, but Mu Bai worried that doing so would create a misunderstanding about his ties to the Haibei Tribe.

Ch. 557Ambush in the Creek Valley

Mu Bai faced a sudden attack in Flower Ravine Creek Valley while deciding whether five children would receive Soul Marks from Artifact Spirit Ancestor or Golden Roc. After rescuing the children and fighting off the first assault, he exposed three masked attackers, who claimed to be from the Qianyuan Sacred Land.

  • Artifact Spirit Ancestor argued with Mu Bai about claiming the five children, then chased Golden Roc through the valley in their transformed forms.
  • Mu Bai asked the children to choose between the Golden Crow and Big Yellow, and they chose Big Yellow; Golden Roc revealed his roc form to impress them.
  • Three masked attackers emerged from concealment and attacked Mu Bai, while Artifact Spirit Ancestor used the Three-Legged Crow Cauldron to shield the valley’s houses.
  • Mu Bai broke the attackers’ earth light wheel, dodged their Yinglong Swords with the Celestial Person Spirit Evolution formation diagram, and cut away their masks.
  • The three revealed themselves as old men and claimed to be from the Qianyuan Sacred Land, but Mu Bai doubted their identities as they launched another barrage of light wheels.

Ch. 558Hai Zhan showed his might

The Artifact Spirit Ancestor and Mu Bai stopped an attack on Flower Ravine Creek Valley, while Hai Zhan confronted two Qianyuan Sacred Land assailants at the Haibei Tribe. Hai Zhan stood alone against them after sending Hai Qing and Hai Dong back to protect their families.

  • The Artifact Spirit Ancestor shielded the valley’s houses with the Three-Legged Crow Cauldron and killed three earth dragons as Mu Bai fought off three attackers.
  • Mu Bai struck the attackers away, and they fled through the void; he then scattered gold sand from the Mustard Seed Bag to guard the valley.
  • Two black-clad figures entered the Haibei Tribe and prepared to attack Mu Bai, but a wooden board warned them that trespassers would die.
  • Hai Zhan appeared and attacked the intruders after they threatened the tribe, and they revealed their Qianyuan Sacred Land robes while fighting back.
  • Hai Qing and Hai Dong arrived to help, but Hai Zhan sent them back into the tribe and faced the two attackers alone.

Ch. 559Mu Bai Left the Valley

Hai Zhan killed two black-clad attackers who threatened the Haibei Tribe, and peace returned to Flower Ravine Creek Valley as Mu Bai awakened five children. While waiting to learn whether they would enter cultivation, Mu Bai left the valley with Big Yellow Dog and visited the thriving Southern Marsh City.

  • Hai Zhan killed both black-clad attackers after one tried to escape, then reassured Hai Qing and Hai Dong that the Haibei Tribe was safe.
  • Zeng Yuan and the valley residents planted herbs and crops, built a waterwheel, and established a peaceful daily life in Flower Ravine Creek Valley.
  • Mu Bai performed Soul Awakening for five children and waited for them to attempt inscribing Soul Marks before the new year.
  • Mu Bai left Flower Ravine Creek Valley with Big Yellow Dog and headed north through Eastern Ridge.
  • Mu Bai found that the two Mu Cities had merged into Southern Marsh City, where statues honored him and Mu Lan for helping the refugees build a new home.
  • Mu Bai and Big Yellow Dog stopped at a street stall and ordered hot tofu pudding.

Ch. 560An old friend, Wang Feng

Mu Bai encountered his former associate Wang Feng, who had lost his livelihood and wife Caiwei after the Human Race Coalition Army took over Mu Lan Pavilion’s businesses. After hearing that the statues of Mu Bai and Mu Lan were to be destroyed, Wang Feng decided he could no longer bear to stay in Mu Lan City, while Mu Bai left soul crystals for him and departed.

  • Golden Roc enjoyed tofu pudding with Mu Bai at Wang Feng’s stall as townspeople discussed a mounted party heading to tear down the statues of Mu Zun and Shopkeeper Mu Lan.
  • Wang Feng argued with Mu Bai about his remarks, then revealed that he and Caiwei had managed Mu Lan Pavilion’s businesses in Ximu City before the Human Race Coalition Army confiscated their assets and dismissed them.
  • Wang Feng told Caiwei’s portrait that the destruction of the statues made Mu Lan City feel unwelcoming, while Mu Bai watched from outside with Golden Roc.
  • Mu Bai left a bag of soul crystals outside Wang Feng’s door and departed with Golden Roc.
  • Wang Feng said he would go to join Caiwei, unable to bear the thought of the statues being destroyed.

Ch. 561Greater Fool Game

Wang Feng died by suicide while holding Caiwei’s portrait, leaving Mu Bai to bury him and reflect on his decision to hand over Mu Lan Pavilion. As Mu Bai prepared to leave Southern Marsh City, the City Lord’s Manor turned fragments from two demolished statues into a booming market, but the price began to fall after buyers sold their pieces back.

  • Wang Feng burned to death with Caiwei’s portrait in his arms, and Mu Bai extinguished the flames too late to save him.
  • Mu Bai buried Wang Feng, apologized to Caiwei, and left his grave with Golden Roc after the snow stopped.
  • The two statues in Southern Marsh City fell, and a Human Emperor Stone Stele was raised in the city center.
  • The City Lord’s Manor sold fragments from the statues, prompting a rush as the displayed price climbed and the manor bought pieces back at three times the original price.
  • As many buyers sold their fragments, the displayed price dropped to around two hundred soul crystals, leaving the crowd wondering why it was falling.

Ch. 562Insatiable greed

The City Lord's Manor drove Southern Marsh City's residents into frantic trading of statue stones, while Mu Bai watched without buying and left with Golden Roc. Mu Bai headed north toward Silver Frost Forest, but Golden Roc resisted going there.

  • The City Lord's Manor raised and lowered the stones' displayed price, prompting residents to sell, buy, and trade them in a frenzy.
  • The City Lord's Manor offered residents high-interest Soul Crystal loans and charged a fee for each transaction, intensifying the trading.
  • Mu Bai finished his tea, patted Golden Roc, and left Southern Marsh City without buying any stones.
  • Mu Bai headed north toward Silver Frost Forest, but Golden Roc refused to follow.
  • Mu Bai asked Golden Roc whether he was content to stay a dog forever.

Ch. 563Silver Frost Bathed in Blood

Mu Bai carried Golden Roc to the Silver Frost Forest to reshape his Primordial Spirit, which required the souls of ten thousand beasts. He began a massacre in the Ancestral Dragon Forbidden Land, then fought the forest’s defenders as they attacked his golden soldiers.

  • Mu Bai urged Golden Roc to seek strength and promised to help him take human form, then flew north with him on his back.
  • Mu Bai recalled that a Form Transformation Pill altered with fuling had fixed Golden Roc’s Primordial Spirit and left him unable to transform, and resolved to repay Granny Blood Phoenix’s treatment of his brother by finding a remedy.
  • Mu Bai entered the Ancestral Dragon Forbidden Land and ordered Golden Roc into his Mustard Seed Bag, then sent tens of thousands of golden soldiers to kill beasts for their souls.
  • Silver-Winged Giant Tigers, Vast-Wilderness Pterosaurs, Black-Horned Pythons, and night owls fought back against the golden soldiers, while Mu Bai battled three broad-winged giants.
  • Mu Bai stabbed one giant with the Reincarnation Sword and unleashed a sea of fire toward the night owls, whose corrosive black water was destroying his golden soldiers.

Ch. 564The Golden Roc's choice

Mu Bai slaughtered his way into the Ancestral Dragon Forbidden Land to seek Golden Roc’s Form Transformation, but Granny Blood Phoenix drove them out and revealed that Red Dance had gone to the Venerable Domain Battlefield. Golden Roc chose to leave Silver Frost Forest with Mu Bai, who then headed south through Eastern Ridge.

  • Mu Bai killed the Tree Demon Giant, Broad-Winged Giants, and numerous beasts, then entered the Ancestral Dragon Forbidden Land carrying the collected beast heads.
  • Mu Bai hesitated to kill thousands of golden rocs, and Granny Blood Phoenix confronted him about Golden Roc’s Form Transformation and his right to choose whom he loved.
  • Granny Blood Phoenix seized Golden Roc, shattered Mu Bai’s right arm, and told them Red Dance had gone to the Venerable Domain Battlefield before forcing them out of the forbidden land.
  • Golden Roc greeted a flock of his kin but chose to leave with Mu Bai, carrying him south and no longer transforming into Big Yellow Dog.
  • Mu Bai traveled south to learn about Eastern Ridge’s situation and visited the ruined former site of the Primordial Soul Sect.

Ch. 565Storms over Eastern Ridge

Mu Bai visited the ruins of Kunling Sect and restored Kun Third Peak in his Inner World before traveling to a Jialan Sect city. There, he evaded officials who tried to force him to enlist and heard townspeople praise Rao Lin’s campaign against the sacred lands.

  • Mu Bai sensed Xuan Jingnian’s sorrow as rain fell in his Inner World, then brought Kun Third Peak’s remains inside and restored it.
  • Mu Bai found that Orchid Fragrance Valley had been occupied by a new sect and learned that Jialan Sect had become Eastern Ridge’s foremost power.
  • Mu Bai and the golden roc approached a city gate, where officials demanded that the roc enter first and that Mu Bai shout, “Long live the Human Emperor!”
  • Mu Bai refused the officials’ ultimatum to enter the dungeon or enlist, then vanished with the golden roc into the city.
  • Mu Bai bought the hungry golden roc roast ox and roast sheep at a tavern and listened as patrons praised Rao Lin and discussed the war in the Venerable Domain.

Ch. 566At a Loss

Mu Bai and the Golden Roc were falsely accused of undermining the Human and Beast Races’ alliance, then branded spies for the Sacred Lands. After the crowd attacked him, Mu Bai revealed his Dao Zun True Cultivator strength and demanded to be allowed to leave.

  • Mu Bai heard tavern patrons praise Human Emperor Rao Lin and discuss the war and the Sacred Lands.
  • The tavern waiter served Mu Bai and the Golden Roc dough sculptures instead of roast meat, claiming meat had to be sent to the army.
  • Diners accused Mu Bai of undermining the alliance, but he frightened them with his killing aura and walked out of the tavern.
  • Mu Bai discovered that pictures had branded him and the Golden Roc as Sacred Lands spies, and street crowds and soldiers moved to surround them.
  • A Xiu Zun cultivator insulted Mu Bai, who slapped him and blasted the attackers away with his aura.
  • Mu Bai asked to leave, but someone shouted, “Stop!”

Ch. 567Honor even in breaking

Mu Bai was caught in a net by Human Race soldiers, but his strength forced his captors to kneel and revealed his identity as Eastern Ridge’s foremost Heavenly Pride. He declined Tao Hang’s invitation to enlist, then joined him at camp, where he reunited with True Person Chihuo, Ya Qing, Cheng Peng, Bailian Chen, and others.

  • A Xiu Zun cultivator trapped Mu Bai in a net, but the soldiers could neither move the net nor harm him with their swords, so they knelt and begged forgiveness.
  • Tao Hang arrived and revealed Mu Bai’s identity, prompting the soldiers and crowd to apologize and praise him as a hero of Eastern Ridge.
  • Tao Hang invited Mu Bai to camp, and Mu Bai agreed after hearing that an old acquaintance was there.
  • At the camp, Mu Bai reunited warmly with True Person Chihuo, who said he and Qi Long had joined the war as individuals pending the sect’s decision.
  • Ya Qing and four other Alchemists greeted Mu Bai as their Master, while Bailian Chen and Cheng Peng also welcomed him and Cheng Peng thanked him on behalf of Mount Qishan’s two hundred thousand compatriots.

Ch. 568Forced into Battle

Mu Bai reunited with his allies in Eastern Ridge but refused Tao Hang’s request to join the Human Race Coalition Army. On returning to Flower Ravine Creek Valley, he rescued the Artifact Spirit Ancestor from three men sent by the Mysterious Female Gate and killed their leader.

  • Mu Bai learned that the Primordial Soul Sacred Land and Li Dragon Tribe were secretly supporting the Human-Beast Allied Forces, and that Rao Lin would marry Li Ji.
  • Tao Hang tried to persuade Mu Bai to join the Human Race Coalition Army, but Mu Bai declined and later left with the Golden Roc.
  • Bailian Chen took Ya Qing and the other four to the Hundred Refinement Sect, while Mu Bai and the Golden Roc traveled through Eastern Ridge and then headed back to Flower Ravine Creek Valley.
  • Mu Bai sensed the Artifact Spirit Ancestor fighting three old men in the valley, rushed to his aid, and helped him trap them beneath the Three-Legged Crow Cauldron.
  • Mu Bai accused the three old men of impersonating people from the Qianyuan Sacred Land, identified the Mysterious Female Gate as their sender, and killed their leader.

Ch. 569The final moments

Mu Bai killed the Mysterious Female Gate elders who had threatened the valley, then prepared the seven newly marked children for cultivation and strengthened their bond with the Golden Roc. As winter ended, Xi Bazì, Sweet Potato Boy, Rao Lin, and Zhong Yue arrived, and Mu Bai faced the fact that Mu Lan’s life was nearly over.

  • Mu Bai seized the two remaining elders and killed them inside his Inner World, then reassured Mu Lan that he would not give in to their threats.
  • Mu Bai gave the seven children Flying Swords, pills, and cultivation guidance, while the Golden Roc made wings grow on them and taught them to fly.
  • For five days, Mu Bai taught the children his Star Sword Technique and guided their body, soul, and spirit cultivation.
  • Xi Bazì and Sweet Potato Boy arrived with Rao Lin and Zhong Yue, and Zuo Lin and Zhong Yue knelt before Mu Bai to ask for punishment and offer the Righteous Alliance’s service.
  • Sweet Potato Boy asked whether Mu Bai could help Mu Lan, and Mu Lan, Mu Bai, and Zeng Yuan shared a farewell as they accepted that her death could not be avoided.

Ch. 570Together at Last

Mu Lan and Zeng Yuan died together, and Mu Bai’s companions buried them in Flower Ravine Creek Valley. As the Human Race Alliance pressed Mu Bai to join the war, he questioned its cause and chose to wait for the conflict to become clearer.

  • Mu Lan collapsed into Zeng Yuan’s arms, and Zeng Yuan chose to die with her.
  • Three days later, Sweet Potato Boy and Xi Bazì prepared a pyre, Mu Bai laid Mu Lan and Zeng Yuan upon it, and Golden Roc set it alight.
  • Zhong Yue and Zuo Lin urged Mu Bai to lead them against the Sacred Land and the Immortal Race, but Mu Bai questioned who their true enemies were.
  • Mu Bai advised Zuo Lin and Zhong Yue to wait, understand the situation, and avoid becoming tools in someone else’s hands.
  • Xi Bazì and Sweet Potato Boy interrupted the discussion and argued that Mu Bai should not fight for the Human Race Alliance.

Ch. 571A visit to the Sword Sect

Zhou Dekai visited the Sword Sect to persuade it to support the Human and Beast Races alliance, but Chen Qi deferred decisions to Mu Bai. Chen Mu Fei showed off his Qianyuan Sacred Robe and Yinglong Longsword to Zhou Dekai, who recognized the robe as likely belonging to the Qianyuan Sacred Land’s Holy Son.

  • Mu Bai warned Xi Bazì and Sweet Potato Boy to watch what they said after leaving the valley, while explaining why he would not fight without knowing who the true enemy was.
  • Zhou Dekai arrived at the Sword Sect and urged Chen Qi to join the alliance against the races from outside the realm.
  • Chen Qi told Zhou Dekai that Mu Bai had the final say and revealed that he was staying in Creek Valley.
  • Chen Mu Fei arrived drunk, accepted a Soul Sword from Zhou Dekai, and demonstrated the Green Duckweed Sword Art.
  • Chen Mu Fei donned the Qianyuan Sacred Robe and struck Zhou Dekai with the Yinglong Longsword, forcing him back a step.
  • Zhou Dekai praised Chen Mu Fei’s talent and remarked that his robe likely belonged to the Qianyuan Sacred Land’s Holy Son.

Ch. 572Heaven willed his destruction

Chen Mu Fei left the Sword Sect for Sword City after persuading Chen Qi to let him travel, while she secretly sent two Yuan Zun Grand Elders to protect him. His arrogance and mistreatment of others brought him into conflict with a long-haired young man, who killed one of his attendants with a single punch.

  • Chen Mu Fei declared that he would make his own name and fight the Sacred Land, while Chen Qi insisted that he remain in the Sword Sect.
  • After Zhou Dekai left, Chen Mu Fei argued with Chen Qi, then persuaded her to let him leave once she promised to give him freedom when he attained Dao Zun.
  • Chen Mu Fei set out for Sword City with Ding Feng and Ding Yu, and Chen Qi secretly ordered two Yuan Zun Grand Elders to follow and protect him.
  • In Sword City, Chen Mu Fei flaunted his sacred robe and golden armor, demanded high-grade soul crystals from the trading-house managers, and collected a million of them.
  • Chen Mu Fei entered a trading house to buy jewelry for Xi Yan, but a long-haired young man tripped him and killed Ding Feng or Ding Yu with one punch.

Ch. 573She Owed Only Him

Qian Yuhuang confronted Chen Mu Fei over the sacred robe and sword, then demanded that Chen Qi summon Mu Bai. Chen Qi took her own life rather than let Mu Bai be harmed, and Qian Yuhuang destroyed the Jewelry Trading House and killed Chen Mu Fei.

  • Qian Yuhuang recognized Chen Mu Fei wearing the Qianyuan Sacred Robe and wielding the Yinglong Longsword, then struck him and killed two Sword Sect Grand Elders.
  • Qian Yuhuang bound Chen Mu Fei and demanded that the Sword Sect summon Mu Bai.
  • Chen Qi arrived with four Star Array Ice Puppets and offered to negotiate, but Qian Yuhuang and Qian Cangzi destroyed the puppets and killed the Sword Sect's remaining Yuan Zun figures.
  • Chen Qi recalled her love for Mu Bai and took her own life rather than summon him or let Qian Yuhuang harm him.
  • Qian Yuhuang unleashed his fury, reducing the Jewelry Trading House and Chen Mu Fei to ash.

Ch. 574Shi Chong's Fight to the Death

After Qian Yuhuang killed Chen Mu Fei and his mother, Chen Shichong pursued him through the void to avenge his family. Their battle left Chen Shichong trapped in Qian Yuhuang’s Yinglong Sword Net, where he began to turn himself into sword light.

  • Chen Shichong unleashed One Soul, Ten Thousand Arts Sword, while Qian Yuhuang summoned a Kun Earth beast to swallow the void swords.
  • Qian Yuhuang trapped Chen Shichong in the Yinglong Sword Net, and Chen Shichong began to become ethereal as he endured its attacks.

Ch. 575Reincarnation first revealed
