  • Shanks privately revealed that he had sought help from a family he once despised, and three days passed as the forces at Sabaody prepared for conflict.

Ch. 77Mel: I know you. You're Red-Haired Shanks, who bullies the weak and fears the strong!

Bullet sent Mel and Siro with the Surprise Force Pirates to confront Shanks in Area 55, while Marine forces moved to monitor the growing crisis. The encounter escalated into a battle between the two pirate crews, with the wider conflict in the Sabaody Archipelago still looming.

  • Bullet's forces defeated the pirate crew in Area 27, took the area as their headquarters, and grew to two thousand pirates.
  • Bullet sent Mel and Siro with five hundred pirates to challenge Shanks, while he arranged for Ailuo to follow with another thousand and Yake and Loya gathered their forces.

  • The two crews clashed without rules, and a pirate was killed almost immediately.

Ch. 78The Red Hair Pirates: Impossible! Why Are the Surprise Force Pirates So Strong?

The Surprise Force Pirates fought the Red Hair Pirates to a bloody draw in the field, winning narrowly despite Siro losing his duel with Yasopp. The defeat damaged the Red Hair Pirates’ reputation, while Shanks remained determined to stop Bullet’s crew and doubted that other new pirates could match their strength.

  • The Surprise Force Pirates and Red Hair Pirates fought for half a day in Sabaody Archipelago’s Area 55, with nearly one hundred casualties on each side.
  • Siro and Mel held off Yasopp and Lucky Roux, though Yasopp gained the advantage over Siro and left him with two bullet wounds.
  • The battle report declared the Surprise Force Pirates the winners: they lost 180 pirates, while the Red Hair Pirates lost nearly 200, and Lucky Roux and Mel drew their duel.
  • News of the defeat shocked the other Four Emperors’ crews and prompted factions to mock Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates.
  • The Red Hair Pirates complained that they had not committed their full forces, while Shanks argued that Bullet’s crew had gained strength through years of fighting and said he doubted other new pirates were equally strong.

Ch. 79King level!

After the Surprise Force Pirates clashed repeatedly with the Red Hair Pirates at Sabaody, Bullet stood firm despite the crew’s disadvantage and invoked Roy and Red as possible reinforcements. Meanwhile, Roy completed his breakthrough on Thriller Bark, becoming a king-level fighter and preparing to change the balance of power.

  • Over the three days after the first clash, the Surprise Force Pirates and Red Hair Pirates fought several smaller battles, with the Red Hair Pirates’ deeper roster giving them the advantage.
  • Shanks warned Bullet that a full-scale war would overwhelm the Surprise Force Pirates and urged him to abandon his route to the New World.
  • Bullet replied that if Benn Beckman used his strength against weaker fighters, he would call on Roy and Red, prompting an uproar at Sabaody.
  • On Thriller Bark, Brook witnessed darkness, lightning, roaring beasts, and a kingly aura surrounding Roy as he emerged from several days of contemplation.
  • Roy revealed that fusing his abilities had unsealed and strengthened his Shikigami, returned their abilities to him, and helped him advance his Conqueror’s Haki before declaring that he had become a king.

Ch. 80Myriad Shadow Technique! New Shikigami! Shadow Clone!

Roy fused the Ten Shadows Technique with the Shadow-Shadow Fruit to gain the powerful Myriad Shadow Technique and its Shadow Clone domain. After refusing Brook as a direct companion but directing him to Yake’s group, Roy and Brook were attacked by a huge bear-like figure.

  • Roy’s system announced that his Shikigami had been unsealed and enhanced, and granted him the Shadow Clone domain, which could create shadow clones from enemies within its closed domain.
  • Roy withdrew his Shikigami and headed for the Sabaody Archipelago, while Brook congratulated him on reaching King Level.
  • Brook asked to follow Roy, but Roy refused, saying he trusted only himself.
  • Roy told Brook that Yake had built a force in the Sabaody Archipelago and suggested Brook join them; Brook agreed.
  • As Roy and Brook moved through the castle, a huge bear-like figure appeared and fired an Air Cannon at them.

Ch. 81Tyrant Kuma: Impossible! How Could Roy Be This Powerful!

  • Dragon spoke through the Den Den Mushi and confronted Roy about Revolutionary Army subordinates being arrested after their joint operation.
  • Dragon, Sabo, and Emporio Ivankov reacted to Roy’s strength and deductions while Dragon and Roy argued over responsibility for the Revolutionary Army’s losses.
  • Dragon offered intelligence about a conspiracy involving Roy, Red-Haired Shanks, and the World Government, and Roy told him to speak.

Ch. 82Dragon: Roy, word has reached me that Red-Haired Shanks wants to kill you!

Roy learned that Shanks was plotting with the World Government to kill him and that their forces were escalating the fighting at Sabaody Archipelago. After hearing that Kuzan had survived, Roy set out for Sabaody, while news of Moria’s death and Roy’s imminent arrival sent the world into an uproar.

  • Dragon told Roy that Shanks was seeking the World Government’s help to attack him, while Bullet was losing ground in his battles with Shanks at Sabaody Archipelago.

  • Roy forgave Kuma for his offense, rejected Kuma’s offer to send him to Sabaody with his Devil Fruit, and left with Brook.
  • Kuma departed to report Moria’s death and worried about Bonney, while the Thriller Bark incident came to an end.
  • News reports announced that Roy had slain Moria and was heading to Sabaody Archipelago, alarming people around the world.

Ch. 83About to take the stage? The Four Emperors of the New World make their move!

As Roy’s arrival at the Sabaody Archipelago drew near, pirates and powerful factions made plans around the growing conflict. Whitebeard’s men secretly headed to Sabaody, while Shanks secured the Holy Knights’ support on the condition that he accept the Divine Contract again; the chapter left the World Government and Sengoku planning their own suppression of Roy.

  • Kaido and Big Mom spoke by phone but did not formally ally, while Whitebeard chose not to act against Roy unless Roy threatened his crew.
  • Angry Whitebeard Pirates secretly sent a freckled young man and several division commanders, along with three thousand allied pirates, toward Sabaody; a dark-skinned man watched them leave with a sinister smile.
  • Yake’s supporters recruited nearly two thousand pirates for Roy at Sabaody, while Bullet recruited fewer than a hundred and called Red, who said he would arrive after visiting Torrance Town.
  • Red-Haired Shanks sent five divisions totaling five thousand pirates toward Sabaody and asked Saint Garling to involve the Holy Knights; Garling agreed only if Shanks accepted the Divine Contract again, and Shanks agreed while planning to leave afterward.
  • Doflamingo, Crocodile, and others publicly demanded that the World Government suppress Roy, but the government rejected their request and threatened to strip them of their Shichibukai status.
  • The Five Elders spoke with Sengoku and planned to suppress Roy and the others at Sabaody.

Ch. 84Saint Saturn: Sengoku, if you can't wipe out Roy, step down as Fleet Admiral!

The Five Elders ordered Sengoku to prepare a Buster Call against Roy and his companions, despite the enormous civilian population on Sabaody Archipelago. After Saint Saturn threatened to replace him with Sakazuki, Sengoku struggled to contain his anger and resolve to keep fighting.

  • Saint Saturn proposed awakening Imu and using the weapon to destroy Roy and his people, but the other four Elders rejected the plan and chose to have the Holy Knights work with Shanks.
  • The Five Elders ordered Kizaru to eliminate Roy's forces and told Sengoku to keep a Buster Call ready in case their plan failed.
  • Saint Saturn insisted that casualties were acceptable and threatened to give Sengoku's Fleet Admiral position to Sakazuki if he refused to obey.
  • Sengoku objected that a Buster Call could kill hundreds of thousands, but Saint Saturn dismissed his concerns and ended the call.
  • Sakazuki left the meeting after making a pointed remark to Sengoku, who erupted in anger until Tsuru and Garp persuaded him not to act rashly.
  • Sengoku suppressed his anger and resolved not to give up, despite pressure from the Five Elders and Sakazuki's ambition.

Ch. 85Sakazuki: What are you doing? Put that Fleet Admiral's cloak away!

Sengoku led a huge Marine force toward Sabaody to eliminate Roy and the other pirates, while Onigumo secretly prepared a Fleet Admiral’s cloak for Sakazuki. As Roy approached the archipelago, Red called, apparently having obtained the Bat-Bat Fruit, Model: Vampire.

  • Sengoku rallied thirty-four warships and thirty thousand Marines to sail for Sabaody and destroy Roy, Bullet, and the pirates there.
  • Onigumo and other Marines brought Sakazuki a Fleet Admiral’s cloak, but Sakazuki warned Onigumo to put it away before anyone saw it.
  • Onigumo said he intended to help Sakazuki become Fleet Admiral, while Sakazuki demanded to know what he was planning.
  • Roy and Brook sailed toward Sabaody, where Roy considered Shanks’s victory over Bullet and wondered about the Holy Knights.
  • Red called Roy, who inferred that Red had obtained the mythical Zoan Bat-Bat Fruit, Model: Vampire.

Ch. 86Red: I've reached King Level-I'm finally not afraid of Roy!

Red ate the Mythical Zoan Vampire Model Fruit, regained his youth, and reached King Level after feeding on pirates. He sailed for the Sabaody Archipelago to join the battle, while Roy arrived nearby aboard a warship that Morgans began broadcasting live.

  • Red spoke with Roy, who congratulated him on obtaining the fruit and told him to head to the Sabaody Archipelago.
  • Red ate the Devil Fruit, regained his youth, and discovered that he needed blood to maintain his strength.
  • When pirates invaded the island, Red drained their blood and broke through to King Level.
  • Red set sail for the Sabaody Archipelago, eager to test the new era and surprise Roy with his strength.
  • Roy arrived near the Sabaody Archipelago aboard a warship, and Morgans began broadcasting his arrival live.

Ch. 87Big News Morgans: A live interview with Roy-I'll be the first!

Big News Morgans approached Roy for a live interview in the Sabaody Archipelago, and Roy agreed after threatening him. The interview began with Morgans asking Roy which of the Four Emperors Pirates was strongest.

  • Yake rallied Roy’s approaching subordinates as Roy sailed toward the Sabaody Archipelago aboard a warship.
  • Big News Morgans introduced Roy to the live broadcast, and Roy threatened to roast him after noticing the News Coo and the News Agency ship.
  • Morgans boarded Roy’s warship and revealed he wanted to interview Roy and use his answers to rank the Four Emperors Pirates.
  • Roy accepted the interview after learning it was being broadcast live.
  • Morgans opened by asking Roy which of the Four Emperors Pirates he believed was strongest.

Ch. 88Roy: The strongest of the Four Emperors' crews? Of course it's the Red Hair Pirates!

Roy declared the Red Hair Pirates the strongest of the Four Emperors’ crews, citing their two Emperor-level fighters and powerful officers while arguing that Whitebeard had grown old. His public ranking stirred disbelief and anger, and Rayleigh recognized that Roy had deliberately exposed Shanks and his crew to greater scrutiny.

  • Roy told Big News Morgans and the broadcast audience that the Red Hair Pirates were stronger overall than the Whitebeard, Beasts, and Big Mom Pirates.
  • Roy argued that Whitebeard’s age weakened his crew’s standing, while the Red Hair Pirates had Benn Beckman, powerful officers, and nearly ten allied pirate crews.
  • Viewers argued over Roy’s ranking, while Bullet and his companions remembered their recent clash with the Red Hair Pirates and grew solemn.
  • Rayleigh and Shakky realized Roy had deliberately drawn attention to Shanks, putting the already prominent Red Hair Pirates in greater danger.
  • The Red Hair Pirates at the port in Area 55 were deeply shaken by Roy’s assessment.

Ch. 89Big News Morgans: I'm creating a top 100 pirate crew ranking! From Four Emperors to Five Emperors!

Roy’s comments turned the Red Hair Pirates into a target, and Big News Morgans proposed ranking the top 100 pirate crews and expanding the Four Emperors to Five Emperors. Roy began the rankings by placing the Whitebeard Pirates second, the Beasts Pirates third, and the Big Mom Pirates fourth, while Bullet set his sights on a place among the Five Emperors.

  • Shanks apologized to the Red Hair Pirates for falling into Roy’s trap, as spies gathered near Area 55 to watch them.
  • Big News Morgans drafted a ranking entry naming the Red Hair Pirates the New World’s number one crew and suggested a top 100 list and Five Emperors system.
  • Yake and Roy’s followers hoped their crew would rank near the top, while Bullet considered claiming a Five Emperors position by taking out the Red Hair Pirates.
  • Roy ranked the Whitebeard Pirates second, the Beasts Pirates third, and the Big Mom Pirates fourth.
  • People in the Sabaody Archipelago debated the rankings, noting Whitebeard’s commanders and the Beasts Pirates’ powerful fighters and Mythical Zoan user.

Ch. 90Big News Morgans: Please List Them, Lord Roy-the World's Top 100 Combatants

Roy introduced a tier system for comparing combat strength and began listing the world’s strongest publicly known fighters. He left the rankings unfinished after naming six King Level combatants.

  • Big News Morgans withheld the Fifth Emperor announcement and said he would reveal the pirate crew rankings after the Sabaody Archipelago incident.
  • Roy answered Morgans’s questions about Impel Down, the Fifth Emperor title, Kaido, and his preferences in women.
  • Roy divided combat strength into tiers, placing Admirals and the Four Emperors at Emperor Level and identifying a higher King Level.
  • Morgans praised Roy’s system and asked him to help create a ranking of the world’s top 100 combatants.
  • Roy wrote down Rocks, Harald, Prime Garp, Prime Roger, Prime Whitebeard, and Loki as King Level fighters.

Ch. 91What! The World Government Actually Had Fifteen Admirals!

Roy presented his rankings of the world’s strongest figures, and Big News Morgans broadcast the list while announcing quarterly updates. The revelations about Rocks and Red-Haired Shanks stunned the world, leaving the Red Hair Pirates silent as Benn Beckman judged the claims likely true.

  • Roy said some rankings had not been verified in combat and invited powerful figures to challenge them.
  • Big News Morgans accepted Roy’s list, announced that rankings would be updated every three months, and showed it on the live broadcast.
  • The broadcast revealed Rocks’s strength and history, shocking viewers and Rayleigh, who wondered how Roy knew the details.
  • Viewers reacted to the revelations about Harald and Loki, including Loki’s alleged murder of his father.
  • The list exposed Red-Haired Shanks as the second son of the Holy Knights’ commander and Shamrock’s twin brother, provoking fear and anger among pirates.
  • The Red Hair Pirates fell silent, while Benn Beckman concluded that Roy’s claims about Red-Haired Shanks were probably true.

Ch. 92This is a bogus ranking, a completely bogus ranking! We Whitebeard Pirates will never accept it!

Shanks reunited the Red Hair Pirates by explaining why he had hidden his Celestial Dragon identity, then warned that Roy’s revelations had made them targets. The newspapers announced a new Five Emperors era and rankings that placed the Red Hair Pirates above the Whitebeard Pirates, whose crew erupted in protest while Whitebeard accepted their decline.

  • Shanks told his crew he had hidden his Celestial Dragon identity because he feared it would divide them, and the Red Hair Pirates reaffirmed their loyalty to him.
  • Benn Beckman warned that Roy’s revelations would make the Red Hair Pirates targets in Sabaody, and Shanks vowed to deal with Roy in seven days.
  • Big News Morgans published headlines announcing the Five Emperors era, the Red Hair Pirates’ rise to the top crew ranking, and new pirate and combat-strength rankings.
  • The Whitebeard Pirates angrily rejected the rankings and urged Whitebeard to lead them against the Red Hair Pirates.
  • Whitebeard silenced his crew, acknowledged that Roy’s assessment was fair, and accepted that his crew and he had been surpassed, though his commanders remained upset.

Ch. 93Sabaody Archipelago

The new Five Emperors era and the published rankings enraged pirates and alarmed the World Government, which decided to send Saint Saturn to kill Roy at Sabaody. As the island’s five powers prepared for a decisive clash, Roy planned to meet Bullet and hunt Devil Fruit users before leading a slaughter across the archipelago.

  • Whitebeard worried that his sons had grown complacent, while Big Mom and Kaido reacted to the rankings and Loki’s rise to king level.
  • Dracule Mihawk took the ranking as an insult and sailed toward Sabaody to confront Roy.
  • Saint Saturn persuaded the other four Elders to let him personally attack Roy at Sabaody after Roy exposed the World Government’s hidden strength.
  • Roy sensed the archipelago’s abundant negative emotions, and Yake and Loya told him that Bullet wanted to discuss entering the New World and destroying the Red Hair Pirates.
  • Yake gave Roy a list of Devil Fruit users, and Roy ordered a hunt before announcing plans to lead his forces through Sabaody in three days.

Ch. 94Reuniting with Bullet

Roy reunited with Bullet and persuaded him to reach the New World through Fish-Man Island rather than risk drawing the World Government’s attention at the Red Line. After they combined their forces, Roy ordered an investigation that uncovered spies among their troops, leaving the Supernovas’ spies alive and ordering the rest killed.

  • Roy and Bullet met again, compared their recent experiences, and discussed how to reach the New World while Red-Haired Shanks occupied the route near the Red Line.
  • Roy argued that they should travel through Fish-Man Island instead of fighting their way onto the Red Line, and Bullet agreed to attack the Red Hair Pirates before circling back to Area 42.
  • Roy and Bullet combined their forces with Yake’s group, bringing their total to roughly seven thousand troops, and Roy ordered both groups to investigate their subordinates for spies.
  • Yake and Mel uncovered dozens of spies working for the World Government, Shichibukai, Supernovas, and Four Emperors.
  • Roy ordered the Supernovas’ spies spared and the others killed, and Yake cut down the remaining spies as they pleaded for their lives.

Ch. 95Shichibukai, Doflamingo

Roy sent Yake to secretly arrange coating for the ships, then infiltrated the Supernova Alliance's base and discovered the Supernovas were under Doflamingo's control. The chapter ended with Roy killing Captain Jiao Ma in one strike as Canglang and the five remaining Supernovas watched in terror.

  • Roy ordered Yake to find trusted people to secretly coat the warship and ships, then headed for the Supernova Alliance's base.
  • Doflamingo revealed that he had defeated the Supernovas and ordered them to stay hidden, avoid provoking Roy, and wait for the battle with Red-Haired Shanks to create an opportunity.
  • After Doflamingo left, Canglang urged the other Supernovas not to surrender their dreams and said he had planted spies among Roy's subordinates and the Surprise Force Pirates.
  • Roy emerged from the shadows inside the alliance's base, overheard the Supernovas' plans, and confronted them.
  • Canglang transformed into a gray wolf and the Supernovas raised their guard, but Roy formed a Shadow Longsword and killed Captain Jiao Ma with one strike.

Ch. 96The New World Was a Graveyard for the Weak

Roy slaughtered the Canglang pirates and their forces, absorbing the dead into his Shikigami army. He sent his Shikigami across Sabaody Archipelago to hunt Devil Fruit Users, leaving the night to erupt into widespread battles.

  • Roy rejected Canglang and his crew’s pleas for mercy, forcing the survivors to attack him.
  • Roy crushed their attacks, then used Conqueror’s Haki to kill the Tear-Tear Fruit user and routed the remaining fighters.
  • Roy’s eight Dark Shikigami hunted down the pirates’ subordinates, reducing their force of over a thousand to fewer than a hundred before killing the rest.
  • Roy’s shadow pierced and devoured the remaining captains, and he declared that he would build a Shikigami Squad by turning every ten corpses into one Shikigami.
  • Roy dispatched his Shikigami to hunt Devil Fruit Users across Sabaody Archipelago, where fierce battles soon broke out.

Ch. 97Hunting Devil Fruit Users

Roy’s shikigami hunted Devil Fruit users across the Sabaody Archipelago, while Bullet intercepted Rayleigh to keep him from joining the fighting. In Area 41, Roy faced three retired New World fighters and discovered that one of their powers could rewind time; just as he prepared to defeat them, a new attacker struck.

  • Roy’s shikigami, trained in dual Haki, overwhelmed Devil Fruit users across Sabaody and plunged the archipelago into chaos.
  • Rayleigh set out for Area 55, but Bullet blocked his way, and the two began fighting.
  • Doflamingo sensed the disturbance in Area 35 and headed toward it after realizing his men had been attacked.
  • In Area 41, Roy broke through the clay and ink attacks of three retired fighters, then felt the Clock-Clock Fruit rewind his state by a few seconds.
  • Roy prepared to take the three fighters’ abilities, but an angry attacker launched a Fire Fist at him.

Ch. 98Fire Fist Ace!

Roy faced Ace and the Whitebeard Pirates in Grove 41, where their clash of Conqueror’s Haki ended with Roy defeating Ace. The battle drew Rayleigh, Bullet, and others toward the grove, leaving them curious about the identity behind Ace’s familiar Haki.

  • Ace, Rakuyo, Squard, and nearly a hundred Whitebeard Pirates attacked Roy, who emerged unharmed and realized Ace had come to avenge Garp.
  • Roy unleashed his Conqueror’s Haki, knocking down most of the Whitebeard Pirates and forcing Ace and the remaining commanders to struggle against its pressure.
  • Ace revealed his own Conqueror’s Haki and clashed with Roy, but Roy overwhelmed him and sent him crashing to the ground.
  • Bullet and Rayleigh sensed the clash from their battle; Rayleigh recognized something familiar in Ace’s Haki and persuaded Bullet to head with him to Grove 41.
  • The shikigami and other fighters made their way toward Grove 41 as the battles in the other groves neared their end.

Ch. 99We're members of the Whitebeard Pirates! Aren't you afraid Pops will come for revenge?

Roy killed three Devil Fruit Users in Area 41 and turned on Ace, Squard, and Rakuyo after they threatened him with Whitebeard's revenge. He killed Squard first, while the Red Hair Pirates unknowingly left Area 55 and exposed themselves to a hidden attack.

  • Shanks and Benn Beckman headed to Area 41 after mistaking the clash of Conqueror's Haki for Roy attacking Rayleigh, while Yasopp and the others stayed behind in Area 55.
  • Several transformed Devil Fruit Users revealed themselves in Area 55 and watched the Red Hair Pirates, who were the real target of a plan to lure them away.
  • Roy killed the Ink-Ink Fruit, Clay Fruit, and Clock-Clock Fruit Users with his Shadow Sword, then faced Ace, Squard, and Rakuyo as they struggled to stand.
  • Squard and Rakuyo attacked Roy, but he blocked them with Advanced Armament Haki and shattered their weapons before evading Ace's Fire Fist.
  • Roy appeared beside Squard and killed him with a Finger Pistol through the head.

Ch. 100Ace, how is a piece of trash like you still alive!

Roy killed Squard and Rakuyo, then left Ace alive while provoking him and hinting at his usefulness against Nika. As Rayleigh and Shanks arrived and reacted to Ace’s identity, Roy’s Shikigami launched a surprise attack on the Red Hair Pirates in Area 55.

  • Roy absorbed Squard and Rakuyo into the Shadow Space as Shikigami, then knocked Ace unconscious instead of killing him.
  • Rayleigh, Bullet, Doflamingo, and others arrived and found Whitebeard Pirates dead or injured around Roy.
  • Roy hinted that Ace was Pirate King Roger’s son, prompting Rayleigh to stop him from killing Ace.
  • Shanks and Benn Beckman arrived, and Roy welcomed their arrival as part of his plan.
  • The Shadow General, the Frenzied Beast, the Divine Dogs (Totality), and Piercing Ox attacked the unguarded Red Hair Pirates in Area 55, targeting Yasopp, Lucky Roux, and Hongo.
