Red defeated Saint Saturn and Benn Beckman in Sabaody, killing Benn Beckman, but left Saint Saturn alive when a sudden sense of danger warned him off. He headed for Area 62, where Roy, Sengoku, Shanks, and Shamrock were reaching the desperate final stage of their battle.
Shanks relived his past in a special space, from his childhood and time in Mary Geoise to his adventures with the Roger Pirates and the events on Elbaf. He reunited with his dead companions and saw Yasopp with Usopp’s mother, leaving him shaken by the choices that had shaped their lives.
Shanks accepted his crew’s deaths and let go of his ambitions before he and Beckman vanished, leaving the Red Hair Pirates no more. Outside, Roy’s victory over Shanks, Shamrock, and Sengoku shocked the onlookers, and he killed Sengoku despite Zephyr’s attempt to stop him.
Sengoku relived his memories and reconciled with Corazon and Tsuru as he died, while Roy secretly turned his body into a shikigami. When Roy moved to kill Shamrock, Imu finally appeared and unleashed overwhelming Conqueror's Haki and demonic energy, leaving only Roy, Red, and Hawkeye standing.
Imu descended in Gunko’s body and confronted Roy, Red, and Hawkeye at Sabaody, where their battle devastated the surrounding areas. The fight’s outcome remained hidden from the public, but Roy and Red had broken through the encirclement, the Four Emperors era ended, and the five emperors era began.
After Roy, Red, and their allies defeated the Marines and survived a devastating clash with Imu, the Five Emperors Era began as Roy entered the New World. The Five Elders accepted that they could not stop the new emperors and focused on rebuilding the Marines while Imu recovered.
Crocodile hid Baroque Works after witnessing Roy’s power, while Robin set out for the East Blue. Jinbe joined Whitebeard’s battle against Bullet’s forces, but the Whitebeard Pirates were defeated, Jinbe was killed, and Bullet’s group prepared to claim their enemies’ territories.
After waking from the battle against Imu, Roy, Red, and Hawkeye discussed their next moves in the New World while Bullet began building his crew and taking territory. Roy planned to establish a shikigami kingdom and a faction in his name, while Red and Hawkeye considered joining Bullet as the New World descended into further conflict.
Brook and the others founded the Roy Guild, recruited thousands of fighters, and seized islands and kingdoms under Merged Beast’s command. As the New World’s kingdoms failed to find allies against Roy and Bullet, Whitebeard joined a coalition gathering on Greenland Island to resist them.
Whitebeard feared that the coming battle could destroy his crew, while Rayleigh urged Ace to accept his heritage and prepare for the coming era. Ace awakened Conqueror’s Haki, mastered Conqueror’s Coating, and set his sights on developing his Flame-Flame Fruit further; meanwhile, Rayleigh’s call to Gaban went unanswered because Gaban was facing a formidable enemy on Elbaf.
Kaido came to Elbaf to free Loki and recruit him to help confront Roy, but Gaban stood in his way. After Kaido defeated Gaban, he took the key to the Underworld, while Gaban revealed that Loki had not killed King Harald.
Roy joined his forces as they advanced on Greenland Island, where Whitebeard's alliance was gathering for a decisive battle. By offering to spare crews that withdrew, Roy sowed doubt among his enemies, and many pirate crews abandoned the alliance.
Roy’s promise not to attack those who left his territory fractured the Whitebeard Alliance’s resolve, forcing Whitebeard to demand a fight to the death while secretly planning to sacrifice himself. A day later, Roy arrived at Greenland Island with two warships and prepared to confront Whitebeard.
Roy and Whitebeard began their final battle as their forces clashed along the shoreline. Roy’s superior strength wounded Whitebeard, but both men continued fighting while hidden Shikigami waited among the dead.
Roy’s forces overwhelmed the Whitebeard Pirates Alliance while Roy battered Whitebeard, and Ace arrived to intervene just as Roy prepared a final strike. Whitebeard entrusted the crew’s future to Ace before their strongest Conqueror’s Coating attacks collided, leaving Whitebeard apparently transported to his homeland in a special space.
Whitebeard looked back on his life and died after telling Roy that he trusted him to decide the fate of Ace and the others. On the battlefield, Ace and Rayleigh tried to evacuate the Whitebeard Pirates, but Roy ordered his forces to slaughter their remnants while forcing Ace to watch.
Roy forced the wounded Whitebeard Pirates commanders to choose three members to die in exchange for three others leaving alive. Thatch, Jozu, and Vista sacrificed themselves, and Roy declared the Whitebeard Pirates finished as he began establishing the Shikigami Kingdom on Greenland Island.
After defeating the Whitebeard Pirates, Roy focused on building his strength while factions across the world adjusted to his dominance. Half a month later, new rankings were announced, as Blackbeard fled the New World, Big Mom sought allies, and the Marines descended into a power struggle.
Big News Morgans published updated rankings of the strongest combatants and forces, prompting widespread debate over the power concentrated among Roy’s allies and the world’s major factions. Golden Lion, angered by his low placement and his Flying Pirates’ omission, entered a Sky Island temple intending to recruit the self-proclaimed god there.
Golden Lion defeated Enel, taught him about Haki, and recruited him into the Flying Pirates. Enel agreed to leave Sky Island for the Blue Sea, bringing his four priests and a haul of treasure with him.
After years of preparation, Luffy and the Straw Hats fought the World Government in a worldwide war, but Roy intervened at the decisive moment and claimed victory. The story ended with the Pirates World becoming a world of Shikigami.
