Arc 45The Crimson Workshop

Douglas reshaped Hogwarts and prepared students for a dangerous expedition while releasing long-imprisoned Death Eaters and studying new magical systems. Voldemort founded the Crimson Workshop, but his attack on Azkaban ended with Douglas capturing several of his followers and delivering them to Barty Crouch Jr.

  • Sirius and the Hogwarts professors curtailed Umbridge’s authority, revised school routines, and replaced independent complaint boxes with shared oversight as Umbridge was reassigned to New Azkaban.
  • Douglas oversaw the exams, where George and Fred impressed the examiners with their technical and safety skills, then presented three Hogwarts relics at the end-of-term feast.
  • Douglas defended taking exhausted students to Egypt to face Uagadou’s primal magic, while Filch discovered that the Demon-Suppression Tower had vanished.
  • Douglas released Bellatrix and other prisoners with fragmented memories, and Ministry inspectors identified them as missing Azkaban inmates before Umbridge tried to claim credit for their recovery.
  • Douglas helped Dobby develop Elfscript and made Red Mist translate a fictional magic system into testable rules, extracting and destroying a clump of fear-based black mist.
  • Voldemort established the Crimson Workshop, recruited Death Eater families to contribute their legacies, and introduced weapons designed to let wizards wield dark magic without relying on skill.
  • Lucius led a Crimson Workshop assault on Azkaban, but the island’s defenses intercepted the attack and Sirius, Bill, Lupin, and Douglas captured several Death Eaters while Lucius and Travers escaped.
  • Douglas transferred the captured Death Eaters to the island, where Barty Crouch Jr. studied the Crimson Workshop papers and recognized the prisoners as traitors who had fallen into his hands.

Arc 46A Price for Protection

Douglas challenged Hogwarts’ failures, trained students to survive through cooperation, and recovered Wormtail as Voldemort’s disguised Snape watched events unfold. As Aragog neared death, Douglas sought his willing help to create Soul Toxin and persuaded Hagrid to take him to the Acromantula.

  • Lupin made first years run five kilometers in groups, while Sirius announced the term and launched a new, anxiety-inducing exam format.
  • Douglas taught that survival depended on assessing danger, distance, and cost, while Snape recognized Neville’s research potential and approved his proposal to study the Cruciatus Curse.
  • At dinner, Douglas confronted Dumbledore over Harry’s abusive childhood, and Dumbledore recalled Tom Riddle’s wartime fears before Douglas insisted that Voldemort remained responsible for his crimes.
  • Douglas told Dumbledore he could restrain Voldemort and suspected a hidden Horcrux linked to Harry, while Voldemort, disguised as Snape, watched the students and taught Potions.
  • Douglas made student teams cross a lake simulation of Azkaban, where Ron, Draco, and Hermione’s conflicting tactics turned the exercise into a chaotic contest.
  • Maeve Doyle brought Douglas the captured Wormtail, and Voldemort later used Legilimency to examine Wormtail’s journey before assigning him to Snape.
  • After Lupin reported that Aragog and the Forbidden Forest creatures were behaving strangely, Douglas summoned Newt and Bill to help obtain soul toxin.
  • Douglas and Newt told Hagrid that Aragog’s venom could be used to create Soul Toxin, and Douglas promised the Marauders Company would protect the Acromantulas if Aragog helped.
  • Hagrid resisted giving up Aragog’s venom, but Douglas argued that Aragog could save his colony and leave a legacy, and Hagrid finally agreed to take them to him.

Arc 47The Lion Behind the Door

Douglas pursued soul research and broader plans for magical creatures while the Ministry searched Sirius’s company amid tensions over magical energy weapons. Meanwhile, Harry’s Detective Club uncovered a hidden dungeon classroom, where a living lion tested their courage before revealing an empty chamber and a stone coffin.

  • Douglas negotiated with Aragog to relocate and manage the Acromantulas, then established a research facility to study the spider’s Soul Toxin.
  • Douglas asked Snape to help study Soul Toxin and its possible use in treating Nagini and protecting Harry from the Horcrux inside him, but Voldemort, disguised as Snape, rejected the proposal publicly while considering its value privately.
  • Harry formed the Charon Detective Agency’s senior group, which received an official commission to survey Hogwarts’ forgotten dungeons, while Hermione began organizing a legal reform group for magical creatures.
  • Douglas shared his new novel about Lynn Payne with Slane, who planned to promote it, while Sirius and Percy’s disagreements over weapons laws continued as counterfeit Charms Rifles sparked a Ministry investigation.
  • Scrimgeour searched Sirius’s company, but Sirius and the Weasley twins showed him research by-products, including protective fabric made from Acromantula silk, and Scrimgeour withdrew the Aurors.
  • Harry’s Detective Club found a lion-marked stone door in the fifth dungeon level, and Dumbledore allowed the students to investigate it until midnight.
  • Eddie Carter painted a lion on the door, causing it to emerge and attack with a deafening roar before declaring the students worthy Gryffindors.
  • The lion vanished into an animated paper cutting, and Hermione dispelled the door’s spells to reveal an empty room containing a stone coffin, and Harry and Ron then urged the Club to challenge the classroom for the Horus Cup tournament.
