Chapter Summaries

Lin Yi used the Universal Wrench to build a makeshift armored vehicle from scrap, then listened as Elder Qi explained his theory about advancing to Sequence 2. After a night of training, the convoy prepared to depart, and Bai Xiaoyu revealed that she had reached Sequence 2.

• Lin Yi got permission from Li Yong to use five abandoned cars and spent the day turning their parts and his motorcycle into the Doomsday Tinplate Car.
• Elder Qi announced that he had reached Sequence 2 and told the Sequence Transcendents that repeatedly draining and restoring mental power might help them advance.
• Xu Zhong grew irritated because Elder Qi's mental-power theory did not seem to fit his Scavenger sequence, but Elder Qi urged him to keep exploring.
• Lin Yi returned to his car and repeatedly used Sequence: Thief through the night while other Sequence Transcendents also tried to advance.
• As the convoy prepared to leave, Bai Xiaoyu sang from atop a modified pickup and revealed a new ability that refreshed the survivors, showing that she had reached Sequence 2.

The convoy entered a graveyard after an intelligent weird entity herded the survivors there, and Lin Yi discovered that the graves followed a rule tied to survivor deaths. As the group fought the resurrecting armored weirds, Lin Yi headed for the three enormous tombstones to find the Intelligent Weird, which attacked by summoning Biker Gang members and more enemies.

• Elder Qi realized an intelligent weird entity was using his Guide ability to herd the convoy and led the survivors toward the source of its aura.
• The convoy entered a graveyard, where mind-controlled motorcycle riders shot at survivors and armored weirds crawled out of the graves.
• Lin Yi warned the convoy that each survivor death caused another weird to emerge, so Elder Qi ordered his men to disable the riders instead of killing them.
• Lin Yi discovered that the armored weirds could revive from the graves and learned from Elder Qi that the Intelligent Weird was near the three enormous tombstones.

Lin Yi broke through to Divine Thief Sequence 2 with Bai Xiaoyu’s help, found and killed the Intelligent Weird, and returned to the convoy. With the armored Weirds still attacking, Elder Qi led the convoy onward through the Graveyard.

• Lin Yi repeatedly died while trying to reach the gravestones, until Bai Xiaoyu’s singing helped him advance to Divine Thief Sequence 2 and gain Otherworldly Walking.
• Lin Yi used a severed arm to identify the third gravestone, then used Group Transfer to uncover the Intelligent Weird hiding beneath the grave soil.
• Lin Yi stabbed the enormous-headed Weird with the Blood Dagger, draining its black mist until it vanished and left behind a pitch-black skull.

Lin Yi led the convoy out of the graveyard after stealing the Blade of Greed and an ancient red ring, then passed out from the ring’s mental strain. He woke at the convoy’s camp to find his Divine Thief had advanced to Sequence 2, while the ring remained in his hand.

• Lin Yi used Divine Thief to disarm the armored eerie creatures and discovered that his Blood Dagger had become the powerful Blade of Greed.
• Bai Xiaoyu sang to suppress the pursuing creatures while the wounded Sequence Transcendents withdrew and the convoy sped away.
• As the convoy passed three gravestones, Lin Yi stole an ancient red ring from the largest one and nearly lost consciousness from the mental strain.

• Lin Yi examined the Sealed Blood Ring, noted its bad-luck cost, and decided to leave it unused for now.
• Lin Yi joined the survivors’ meal and learned that thirty-five people had died in the Graveyard, while Clown, Zhao Xing, and Da Hu had advanced to Sequence 2.

• Lin Yi followed the vines and discovered a giant aberration feeding on unconscious survivors and producing smaller aberrations.
• Lin Yi stabbed the giant aberration in the skull, but vines and grass took control of its body and attacked him.
• Lin Yi severed one of its vines, hid Da Sha from the approaching horde, and watched the smaller aberrations burrow into the giant's body and give it more heads.
• Lin Yi retrieved Da Sha and fled through the grass as the aberration grew to fifteen meters tall.
• Lin Yi flipped the overturned car upright and raced toward the shared marker while the twenty-meter aberration pursued him.

Lin Yi fled the Nine-Headed Anomaly with unconscious Da Sha until Clown intervened, using his transformation ability to hold the monster back and join Lin Yi in the car. Clown asked Lin Yi to track down Uncle Xu, and after learning Xu Zhong’s contribution points had disappeared, Lin Yi told Clown he was still alive as the car finally escaped the grassland.

• Lin Yi used Group Transfer and Disguise to evade the Nine-Headed Anomaly, but the purple grass gave away their position and forced him to flee again.
• As the Nine-Headed Anomaly leaped to attack Lin Yi’s car, Clown transformed into a weaker copy of it and repeatedly created duplicates to delay the monster.
• Clown returned to Lin Yi’s car for supplies, and Lin Yi let him take whatever he wanted.

• Lin Yi tried to flee, but the city repeatedly appeared ahead of him, forcing him to enter with Clown and Da Sha.
• The three entered the city on foot and found smiling snowmen lining a snow-free path beneath the eerie song.
• Lin Yi plugged Clown’s and Da Sha’s ears, but the snowmen turned angry and moved to surround them.

Lin Yi met Li Jie and Lu Hanxue, who had been stranded in Ice and Snow City for three days and were investigating the city's defenses. As night fell, monsters emerged across the streets, and Lu Hanxue proposed fighting their way toward the huge head controlling the city.

• Lin Yi followed Li Jie and Lu Hanxue into a shop, where Li Jie introduced himself as Sequence Iron Wall and Lu Hanxue as Sequence Ice Emperor.
• Li Jie explained that the huge head atop the tallest building flashed when Ice and Snow City intercepted survivors, and he suspected destroying it would stop the city from moving.
• Lin Yi and the others watched snowmen split open at dusk as figures and black mist filled the city with monsters.
• After Lin Yi sat on Lu Hanxue's bed, Li Jie warned him that her obsession with cleanliness could make the offense dangerous, but Lu Hanxue let him off.
• Lu Hanxue said they should kill their way toward the huge head, and Lin Yi agreed to follow her while hoping to pick up the scraps.

Lin Yi and his companions were surrounded by sinister entities after the big head’s nightly illusion revealed their location, forcing them to begin their plan early. Lu Hanxue led the attack while Lin Yi and Li Jie fought toward Bai Xiaoyu’s convoy, which was trapped at a nearby supermarket.

• Lin Yi broke free of an illusion of his mother by stabbing the sinister entity with the Blade of Greed.
• Li Jie, Lu Hanxue, and Clown escaped their illusions, but Da Sha remained trapped as the big head’s searchlight-like eyes swept the city.
• Lu Hanxue spotted white figures gathering outside the shop, and Li Jie realized the sinister entities were purging the city every few days.
• Li Jie transformed and carried Da Sha while Lu Hanxue smashed through the door and fought the attackers with her sword and snow powers.

• Da Hu, Zhao Xing, and Bai Xiaoyu defended the survivors inside a small supermarket while sinister entities surrounded them.

Da Hu killed the gigantic wraith, but a Long-Tongued Wraith arrived and slaughtered the survivors in and around the supermarket. With Zhao Xing and Bai Xiaoyu unable to fight, the wraith targeted Bai Xiaoyu as she faced certain death.

• Zhao Xing used Mental Derangement to turn the gigantic wraith's hammer against the other wraiths, while Da Hu attacked it with lightning, fire, and ice.
• Da Hu destroyed the gigantic wraith, picked up its Anomaly, and gave it to Elder Qi as Bai Xiaoyu collapsed from exhaustion.
• A sobbing girl approached the supermarket and revealed herself as the Long-Tongued Wraith, which pierced Da Hu's heart and killed him.
• The Long-Tongued Wraith killed the survivors fleeing the supermarket, while Elder Qi recorded its appearance and warned that people should flee when they heard sobbing.
• With Zhao Xing and Bai Xiaoyu exhausted, the Long-Tongued Wraith shot its tongue toward Bai Xiaoyu, who closed her eyes in despair.

Lin Yi saved Bai Xiaoyu from the Long-Tongued Ghost and helped the survivors leave the supermarket, but Lu Hanxue was badly injured fighting a Blood Ghost. As the group fled, Lin Yi chose to stay beside Lu Hanxue and face the creature.

• Lin Yi killed the Long-Tongued Ghost and rescued Bai Xiaoyu, who thanked him as the survivors mourned Da Hu.
• Lin Yi noticed the Skinning Ghost collecting skins from the dead and watched its Contribution rise as it took them.

Lin Yi and Lu Hanxue defeated Blood Ghost’s first form, but its second form overwhelmed them and killed Lin Yi. His Saint Mother Sequence advanced at the moment of death, and his death substitute appeared behind Blood Ghost in the Sea of Blood.

• Lu Hanxue attacked Blood Ghost while Lin Yi used Otherworldly Walking to decapitate it with the Blade of Greed.
• Lin Yi used Plunder to suppress Blood Ghost briefly and stabbed its temple, destroying its first form.
• Blood Ghost transformed into a towering second form surrounded by a vast Sea of Blood, and its Scarlet Blood Eye stopped Lin Yi from using Otherworldly Walking to approach.

• Lin Yi reappeared among Elder Qi's group, warned them that Big Head was dead, and fled with the convoy while Li Jie and Lu Hanxue escaped the sea of blood.

Lin Yi tried to escape the Blood Ghost by using Bad Luck Clinging to provoke the Nine-Headed Anomaly into fighting it, but the Blood Ghost killed the giant and absorbed it. Bound by the transformed Nine-Headed Ghost as the Blood Ghost raised its bone whip, Lin Yi hurled the Blade of Greed and activated Settlement.

• Lin Yi used Bad Luck Clinging and fled while the Blood Ring warned that Soul-Sealing the Blood Ghost required an Anomaly material ranked within one thousand.
• The Nine-Headed Anomaly charged past Lin Yi and attacked the Blood Ghost, buying him time to run toward the convoy.
• Lin Yi stumbled under Bad Luck Clinging, then watched the Blood Ghost defeat the Nine-Headed Anomaly and absorb it into the sea of blood.

• Lin Yi returned to Ice and Snow City and attacked the Blood Ghost, but it healed itself and trapped him in strands of blood-red seaweed.
• The Blood Ghost tortured Lin Yi by repeatedly breaking his fingers, while his substitute-death ability restored them at the cost of contribution points.
• The Skinning Ghost found that one of its fingers kept breaking off and reattached it each time.
• Elder Qi watched over the unconscious Da Sha and worried about how he would react to Lin Yi’s apparent death.

Da Sha defeated the Blood Ghost and gave Lin Yi its remaining Anomaly materials before disappearing in golden light. Lin Yi later awoke in a survivor convoy, grieving Da Sha, and absorbed the Blood Ghost’s blood into the Sealed Blood Ring, unlocking its sea of blood trait.

• Da Sha arrived to protect Lin Yi, destroyed the Nine-Headed Anomaly, and killed the Blood Ghost, ending the sea of blood.
• Da Sha gave Lin Yi a pulsing tear of blood and a blood-red eye, then dissipated into golden light; Lin Yi passed out after finding the Rolling Pin he left behind.
