Malfoy's Quidditch Debut
Hermione turned her stiff neck and looked at Bell.
"Bell ~! Look..."
Hermione said weakly.
Kind-hearted Hermione couldn't help herself and once again hoped that Bell could think of a solution.
I refuse.
Bell once again refused his girlfriend's request without hesitation.
"Hermione, you need to understand one thing. Your 'good intentions' are only good if the other person is willing to accept your help. When the other person is unwilling to accept it, your so-called 'good intentions' are nothing but your arrogance."
Bell never offers a helping hand.
In his view, anyone who offers unsolicited help is either a crook or a thief. Therefore, he will only selectively extend a helping hand to those who seek his assistance.
He has no interest in being a hero, nor does he aspire to be one.
"All right..."
Hermione lowered her head, looking somewhat dejected.
Bell reached out and ruffled his girlfriend's hair without saying a word. He then turned his gaze back to the field and continued watching the game.
To be honest, Bell was very disappointed with today's match.
It wasn't because of the rain that he couldn't see clearly.
This level of obstruction is simply not enough to affect Bell's vision now.
His disappointment stemmed from the fact that the game was too one-sided.
So why can't the Gryffindor players learn from what Slytherin did last year?
You guys are committing a foul! Kick him!
Feeling frustrated and disappointed, Bell was getting bored. As he was considering what to do to pass the time, he inadvertently witnessed a very interesting scene.
Draco Malfoy, the Seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch Team, hovered in mid-air, piloting Flying Broomstick, watching intently as Harry dodged the Bludger's attacks.
And the target of his job— the Golden Snitch —was floating on his shoulder.
Unfortunately, Malfoy, whose entire focus was on Harry, didn't notice this at all.
Bell almost burst out laughing.
So, is Malfoy here to play polo or to see Harry?
Now that I think about it, it seems like he never put any effort into finding the Golden Snitch from the start of the competition? Could it be that the reason he wanted to become Slytherin's Seeker was so that he could be closer to Harry during the competition and fly alongside Harry?
I wonder if Old Malfoy would spit out a mouthful of blood if he knew that his son had such impure motives in begging him to become Slytherin's Seeker.
However, Bell knew that there was already someone on the field who felt like he was going to vomit blood.
Ignoring the blow to his arm from the Bludger, Harry suddenly accelerated and charged toward the Golden Snitch on Malfoy's shoulder.
Looking at Malfoy at this point, he really doesn't deserve the title of Seeker.
Seeing Harry flying towards him, instead of immediately searching for the Golden Snitch, he shouted at Harry in a panic, "Don't come any closer!"
Is he sure he's not here to be funny?
Or was Malfoy secretly pleased at this moment? Did he think that Harry had finally come to terms with reality, chosen to abandon that Weasley family brat, and was ready to throw himself into his arms?
In short, amidst Malfoy's panicked expression, the cheers of the Gryffindor, and the roars and wails of the Slytherin, Harry gripped the Golden Snitch tightly with his hand.
Then he fell off the Flying Broomstick.
Bell paid no attention to Harry, who had fallen from his Flying Broomstick. Bell didn't even notice Hermione, who had left the audience with the screaming crowd.
His attention is now focused on Malfoy.
Upon landing on the ground, Malfoy still looked completely bewildered as to what had happened.
However, just because he didn't understand doesn't mean the other members of the Slytherin Quidditch Team didn't understand either.
Flint, as captain, slammed the Nimbus 2001, which he had previously treasured, to the ground. He now deeply regretted agreeing to let Malfoy be the Seeker.
However, given the circumstances, Flint had no other option but to yell at Malfoy to vent his emotions.
One has to admit, Slytherin is Slytherin.
Even though Flint was so angry he was about to vomit blood and wished he could tear Malfoy apart, he still didn't lay a finger on Malfoy.
The other players were the same; no matter how angry they were, they didn't say anything harsh to Malfoy.
After a while, once the crowd had mostly dispersed, Bell packed up his belongings.
He stood up, dusted himself off, and walked toward the location he sensed Hermione was in.
Today's match, though uninteresting at the beginning, presented a spectacular finale. So overall, Bell was quite satisfied.
"Bell, where did you go? I've been looking for you for ages."
Hermione complained as she watched Bell stroll over slowly.
She thought the two of them had been separated by the crowd, and she almost went back to the castle to find Bell.
"You were the one who suddenly ran away, weren't you? I sat in the audience the whole time and didn't move."
Bell protested his innocence.
"Then why didn't you chase after me!"
What can Bell say?
Could it be that he was busy watching the commotion at the time and therefore didn't pay attention to Hermione?
If he really dared to say that, Hermione could... not speak to him for a whole day!
Seeing that Bell remained silent, Hermione recounted what had just happened.
"You know what, Bell? Professor Lockhart was trying to treat Harry's broken arm, and for some reason, he removed all the bones from Harry's arm. While Harry is definitely not in pain anymore, was it really necessary to go that far, removing all the bones?"
At this point, Hermione recalled the boneless arm Harry had just seen.
She couldn't help but shiver; goosebumps rose on her arms.
She decided that if she were to get injured in the future, she would definitely not trouble Professor Lockhart to treat her.
"The spell failed."
Bell said that Lockhart is capable of anything, and nothing is surprising.
"How is that possible?! That's Professor Lockhart!"
Even now, Hermione still believes that Lockhart is, as he wrote in his book, an exceptionally talented wizard.
Bell didn't necessarily intend to correct his girlfriend's misunderstanding. After all, it was too much trouble.
Furthermore, Hermione isn't the type to be a fanatical idol. Rather than idolizing Lockhart, she admires Lockhart magical abilities. Once she becomes stronger, she'll naturally see Lockhart's true colors.
"I don't know, since I'm not very good at healing Curses."
Bell shrugged and gave a perfunctory reply.
In addition, he is genuinely not good at healing Curses.
"Are there any areas you're not good at?!"
Hermione was very surprised.
She had never seen Bell lack any skill. She had assumed that Bell was extremely knowledgeable about anything related to magic and could easily solve any problem.
"Of course I have areas where I'm not good at. I'm human, not a god."
While Bell was secretly pleased with his girlfriend's blind faith, he was a pragmatic person.
