Hermione Was Unhappy
Hermione is unhappy lately! Very, very unhappy!
Tomorrow is the first day of school at Hogwarts. That means today is the last day of summer vacation.
However, throughout the entire summer vacation, she not only didn't meet with Bell, but she also barely sent any messages!
It was one thing during their previous trips, given the time difference and the fact that Bell must have been exhausted after each day of sightseeing. Hermione, being understanding, was able to comprehend it.
But Bell has been back in Britain for almost a month now, and he still hasn't had time to talk to her!?
Hermione was a little skeptical. Did Bell really know what the word "vacation" meant?
Hermione remembered that the last time she had a video call with Bell was the evening after Bell returned home.
"Bell, you're finally back!"
Seeing her boyfriend appear on the screen, Hermione was overjoyed. Heaven knows how much she had been looking forward to this day.
So, as soon as she received Bell's notification, she couldn't wait to video chat with Bell.
"Yes, I came back last night."
"!? You came back last night? Then why did you only tell me now!"
Hermione glared at Bell with obvious displeasure. She wouldn't let it go unless Bell gave her a satisfactory answer.
"Sorry, Hermione. I haven't been home for a while, so there were some urgent things to take care of at home. I accidentally forgot to text you."
Bell said apologetically.
He had just returned from his home laboratory, bringing back three of the only five Inferior Philosopher's Stone in the lab.
After most of the day of experiments and explanations, Bell finally mastered the method and specific parameters for making Inferior Philosopher's Stone.
In fact, this was not a difficult task for Bell, who had already mastered the method of making the genuine Philosopher's Stone.
"All right."
Although not entirely satisfied, Hermione still chose to forgive Bell.
Hermione knew that children from families like Bell's were bound to be busy at times.
As for how she knew?
That was all thanks to Malfoy, who tirelessly picked fights with Harry and the others every day. Malfoy overheard Hermione boasting one time.
"Bell, what's that behind you?"
Hermione glanced at Shanna in the corner of the screen and decided to tell Bell about her longing for him later.
"This is Gundam; I brought it back from Japan."
With that, Bell kicked out, sending a steel plate flying off the Gundam's leg.
I wonder if Lin would regret selling Gundam to Bell and pull out a watermelon knife to kill his good brother if he saw how his good brother treated his precious Gundam.
"Forehead"
Hermione was at a loss for words. Did Bell really bring this metal lump all the way back from Japan just to take it apart and play with it?
Hermione was only half right.
Bell bought the Gundam specifically to take it apart. However, he didn't buy it for fun; he wanted to analyze the technology behind it.
If it were before, Bell would have been at a loss, like a Artificial Shikigami trying to catch a turtle.
However, thanks to a kind-hearted comrade Bei Cun, who generously gifted Bell many precious memories, Bell was able to quickly grasp the relevant aspects of Onmyodo.
"Bell, could you..."
Watching Bell on the screen, busy dismantling the Gundam with his bare hands, Hermione had some private things she wanted to say to Bell alone.
However, before Hermione could make her request, Bell interrupted her.
"I'm sorry, Hermione, I'll be very busy from now on and may not have time to spend with you!"
Bell looked apologetically at Hermione on the screen.
Originally, Bell had plenty of time in his original plan to complete his long-planned "grand scheme".
However, the knowledge he gained from China and Japan during this trip greatly inspired Bell.
Furthermore, with the unexpected success of developing Inferior Philosopher's Stone, Bell also wanted to apply them to the "Grand Plan".
All of this forced Bell to disrupt his original plans and devote all his energy to the project, striving to complete it before the final deadline.
"What!?"
Hermione stared incredulously at Bell on the screen.
By the way, has Bell ever had time to spend with her?
"I'm so sorry! I promise, this is the last time. You can make it up to me however you want afterward."
"When will you be done with your work? When you're done, let's go to Diagon Alley together to buy all the things we need for the new school year, okay?"
Hermione didn't want Bell's compensation at all; she just wanted Bell to be by her side.
"I'm sorry, I don't know either. I'll do my best to finish it before school starts. But I might not be able to go shopping with you."
Bell gritted his teeth and finished speaking with difficulty.
Looking at Hermione on the screen, who was trying hard not to let her tears fall, Bell felt extremely guilty.
For a moment, both of them fell silent.
After an unknown amount of time, just as Bell couldn't help but want to say something more.
"You said this was the last time. If it happens again, I will never forgive you!"
After saying that, Hermione hung up the video call; she didn't want to hear Bell talk anymore.
"Gege, did you and Hermione have a fight?"
Little Shanna, who had been watching from the sidelines, asked with some concern.
Although the little girl sensed that something was off between her Gege and her Hermione, she was too young to fully grasp the feeling of unease.
In contrast, Shanna was more worried that her Gege, who already had few friends, would lose Hermione, a rare friend.
"We didn't argue. But my Gege did something wrong, and I'm very sorry, Hermione."
Bell gently patted his little sister's head. He wasn't in a good mood and didn't want to talk about it anymore.
"Gege isn't wrong! It must be Hermione's fault!"
Little Shanna unconditionally supports her Gege.
Bell smiled. Shanna's words made him happy. But a mistake is a mistake, and Bell wasn't so incompetent as to lack even that much responsibility.
"Shanna, everyone in this world makes mistakes. Mom and Dad make mistakes, Shanna makes mistakes, and naturally, your Gege will make mistakes too."
Remember, making mistakes is not terrible. To err is human, to forgive divine.
What's frightening is that people make mistakes but lack the courage to admit them, instead resorting to shirking responsibility.
Seeing his sister's puzzled look, Bell smiled and offered no further explanation.
Some things, if you don't experience them firsthand, are useless no matter how much others say.
Seeing her older Gege turn around and continue taking apart the large toy called Gundam, Little Shanna suppressed her doubts.
Although she didn't quite understand, Shanna kept her Gege's words firmly in mind.
After all, the little girl's motto in life is. "What my Gege says is always right!"
"Gege, I want to play too!"
Shanna skipped over to her Gege and helped (?) take apart the toys.
"Shanna! Don't use the Explosion Curse!"
"Hehe~!"
