The earliest milestones belong to Mo Lin’s shared origin. Separation does not reduce either half’s power, and each possesses an independent energy supply 29.

Background

Mo Lin’s shared identity is that of an orphan and transmigrator raised by the Ye Family. Ye Xingmeng brought him home at age four; he later worked in the family medicine shop, where he showed skill in bookkeeping and sorting medicinal herbs 1 18 19.

The Tiger Talisman divided him into good and evil halves. When Ye Xingmeng witnessed the ability, she invested Ye Lingling and the Ye Family’s holdings in his future. His public position as the family’s child bridegroom concealed his role as Ye Lingling’s Dao Protector 7.

Unlike Good Side, who largely remained in Heaven Dou City, Evil Face traveled outside it. The halves periodically merge to exchange information and preserve their common identity, including their equally strong attachment to Ye Lingling 7 12.

Appearance

Personality

Evil Face is vulgar, impatient, and openly cruel. He prefers direct violence to elaborate planning, describing his approach as overturning the pond rather than patiently fishing. He also enjoys prolonging an opponent’s humiliation, deliberately preventing Tang San from surrendering during their match 20 21 27.

His intelligence is not inferior to Good Side’s, but he dislikes work that requires sustained thought. He leaves investigations and social planning to his counterpart while using Energy Control effectively in combat 12 23 34.

Ye Lingling is his clearest emotional priority. He wants the same closeness with her that Good Side enjoys, yet his unfamiliar appearance and intrusive behavior initially frighten her. Even after overwhelming Tang Hao, he is dismayed when her distant greeting reveals that his efforts to win her trust have been undone 22 38.

Approaching Ye Lingling

Evil Face prepares Xiao Hei as a furry surprise for Ye Lingling, but his attempt to retrieve the supposed lost pet from her room makes her suspicious. Good Side reprimands him and devises a more convincing identity: another eighteen-year-old Mo Lin, competing as a Soul Elder with Xiao Hei as his Martial Soul 21 22 23.

The revised approach draws Ye Lingling’s attention, though Qin Ming interrupts their conversation. Mo Lin maintains the disguise even as she becomes increasingly certain that he is connected to her childhood companion 25 26 30.

Baiting and Killing Tang Hao

Mo Lin secretly arranges his match against Tang San, fights as Thousand Faces, and inflicts a prolonged beating to provoke Tang Hao. Xiao Hei moves Ye Lingling and Dugu Yan to safety before the expected retaliation 26 27 28.

When Tang Hao attacks, Mo Lin withstands the Clear Sky Hammer and threatens Tang San to prevent his opponent from escaping. He analyzes Ring Detonation, recognizes Tang Chen’s ingenuity, and decides to change his itinerary to seek Tang Chen 32 33 34.

He ends the battle with Question the Heavens, destroying Tang Hao’s body and devastating Suotuo City. After recovering from the accompanying lightning, he collects all six Soul Bones and fabricates a replacement corpse for Spirit Hall 36 37.

Departure from Suotuo City

Mo Lin sends the replacement corpse to the Worship Hall through Ao Debiao, specifically ordering him to avoid Bibi Dong and obtain full payment. He entrusts the Soul Bones to Ye Lingling and forces Flender to arrange her safe return to Heaven Dou City 38 39.

He then takes Xiao Wu and leaves with her and Xiao Hei. News of Tang Hao’s defeat spreads his new title, Heaven-Defying Sword God, across the continent 39 40.
