As for how to let the human race emerge unscathed, they could only wait for the conspiracy to reveal itself before finding a way to break it.
Jiang Haofeng's eyes flickered as he surveyed the Heavenly Court. Looking at the Demon Court before him, where auspicious vapors rose and boundless might filled the air, his heart felt heavy. The human race had to survive this calamity!
Time passed bit by bit. In the blink of an eye, ten thousand kalpas slipped silently by. During that time, Di Jun and Xi He gave birth to ten little Golden Crows, who became the ten crown princes of the demon race.
To ensure the ten little Golden Crows' growth, the two placed them in Tanggu Valley, a place Di Jun had specially opened for his descendants. Within it stood a branch of the Innate Spiritual Root, the Fusang Divine Wood.
Di Jun had personally transplanted it from the Fusang Divine Wood atop the great sun.
The might of the great sun was far too terrifying. The ten newborn Golden Crows were only in the Golden Immortal Realm and simply could not endure its scorching heat. Tanggu Valley was the nursery Di Jun had created for them, the place where they would grow.
According to Di Jun's plan, once the ten little Golden Crows grew into Grand Luo Golden Immortals, he would have them cultivate upon the great sun, on the true Fusang Divine Wood.
One day, the ten little Golden Crows were playing in Tanggu Valley. Outside the valley, Ying Zhao watched the ten little ones before him with a faint smile.
Ying Zhao, one of the Ten Directions Demon Saints and an early-stage Quasi-Saint, had been ordered by Di Jun to guard Tanggu Valley and protect the ten crown princes.
However, this protection was merely nominal. Throughout the entire Demon Court, no one believed anyone would dare harm the demon race's crown princes!
They were the descendants of the Demon Emperor, the treasures of his heart. Anyone who dared touch even a hair on the ten princes' heads would become the demon race's mortal enemy, locked in an endless feud of life and death!
The Demon Emperor was undeniably the number one figure beneath the sages in the primordial world. Before the Demon Emperor, unless one was a sage, it would make no difference who came!
Even the Witch Clan, which ruled the earth, likely would not dare lay a hand on the ten princes.
In all of the primordial world, only sages would dare attack the ten demon princes. But sages would never do so. Sages cared about their dignity. Even if they wished to strike at the demon race, they would target the Demon Sovereign and Demon Emperor. Why would they target ten little Golden Immortals?
Thus, Ying Zhao's role as a Quasi-Saint was more for appearances and emergencies than anything else. No one would attack these ten demon princes.
Ying Zhao watched the ten little Golden Crows in Tanggu Valley with a hidden smile, wondering whether he should imitate the Demon Emperor and have a few little Ying Zhaos of his own.
Suddenly, a disturbance came from the void. Ying Zhao was startled, and the terrifying aura of his Quasi-Saint cultivation swept forth. His vast might resisted the void as a barrier instantly appeared above Tanggu Valley. Then Ying Zhao turned to look behind him.
A surging force swept toward him. A massive fist, like an ancient star carrying endless pressure, smashed down upon him.
"Di Jiang?!"
Ying Zhao cried out in shock and fury, hurriedly raising a hand to defend himself.
But Di Jiang was the foremost of the Twelve Ancestral Witches, a great being at the peak of the Quasi-Saint Realm. How could Ying Zhao, who had only just comprehended the Great Dao Laws, possibly contend with him?
With one punch, all of Ying Zhao's resistance was crushed like rotten wood. The fist slammed heavily into Ying Zhao's chest, sending him crashing into the ground like a meteor.
Then Di Jiang waved his hand. Spatial Dao essence filled the void, and a massive world formed in an instant, trapping Ying Zhao within it. Ying Zhao attacked repeatedly, unleashing all manner of mighty demon race divine abilities, yet he could not affect that space in the slightest!
Ying Zhao's expression changed drastically. He hurriedly shouted, "Di Jiang, have you gone mad? This is Tanggu Valley! If you dare harm our princes in the slightest, my demon race will fight yours to the death!"
His furious voice echoed through the void.
Ying Zhao was even more astonished inwardly. Di Jiang was actually this powerful. Previously, Di Jiang had been utterly unable to fight back against the Demon Emperor. One chime of the Chaos Bell had sent him flying tens of thousands of miles away, and Ying Zhao had thought his strength was only so-so.
Yet now that he saw him in person, Di Jiang was terrifyingly powerful, suppressing him with every casual movement. He was still a Quasi-Saint, after all. Though he had not yet severed his corpse and was merely at the early stage of the Quasi-Saint Realm, he was a genuine Quasi-Saint who had comprehended Great Dao essence. Yet he had been easily suppressed.
If Di Jiang was already this strong, just how powerful was the Demon Emperor?
These thoughts flashed through Ying Zhao's mind and were immediately suppressed. He continued staring fixedly at Di Jiang in the void.
"Di Jiang, the Demon Emperor has set restrictions here. He will arrive soon. Leave at once, and do not provoke a war between our two races."
Di Jiang glanced at Ying Zhao expressionlessly, ignored him, and stepped into Tanggu Valley.
Restrictions? He could break them with a wave of his hand. Such things were effortless to him. With him concealing the heavenly secrets, even the Demon Emperor could forget about learning what had happened here.
Di Jiang strode into Tanggu Valley. Golden light flashed in his eyes, and the ten Golden Crows before him instantly became glassy-eyed.
"Di Jiang" waved his hand, and a vortex appeared in the void, leading directly to a Witch Clan settlement in the primordial world.
"Kill every Witch Clan member. Avenge Ying Zhao!"
Di Jiang spoke calmly.
His voice echoed through the void, carrying an unfathomable Dao essence that made people involuntarily lose themselves in it.
"Kill every Witch Clan member. Avenge Uncle Ying Zhao!"
The ten little Golden Crows spoke involuntarily.
The ten little Golden Crows' eyes regained their liveliness, no longer carrying their previous vacant look. Yet their eyes were filled with killing intent as they gritted their teeth and said, "Kill every Witch Clan member. Avenge Uncle Ying Zhao!"
"Kill every Witch Clan member. Avenge Uncle Ying Zhao!"
The same words were spoken three times, each time louder than before, and the killing intent within them grew increasingly intense.
"Kill!"
Killing intent boiled in the ten Golden Crows' eyes. They flapped their wings and transformed into ten scarlet streaks of light, plunging into the passage before them!
Watching the ten Golden Crows vanish, "Di Jiang" revealed a faint smile before his face turned sorrowful.
Alas, for the West to flourish, it was truly too difficult.
As his words fell, Di Jiang turned and came outside. He said to Ying Zhao, "No one came here today!"
As those words fell, Ying Zhao's eyes also became vacant. Yet deep within them remained a trace of clarity so faint it was nearly impossible to detect.
Di Jiang smiled in satisfaction, and his figure flickered out of sight.
On Shouyang Mountain, the Grand Pure Sage casually glanced toward Tanggu Valley. His expression did not change in the slightest as he continued preaching, without even pausing.
On Kunlun Mountain, Primeval Lord of Heaven showed a trace of disdain. Such a crooked path truly could not be displayed before others. Still, it was acting in accordance with heaven's will. The Witch Clan and demon race did not accord with fate, so how could they occupy the position of rulers of the primordial world?
Primeval Lord of Heaven slowly closed his eyes. Three thousand Great Daos rose around him, and he no longer concerned himself with the affairs of the primordial world.
Golden Ao Island, Jade Pool Palace!
Sect Leader Tongtian sneered. "A dignified sage using such divisive schemes—he truly has no shame!"
As his words fell, the disciples listening below exchanged looks. One by one, they watched their noses and contemplated their hearts, not daring to say a word.
That was a sage. Who would dare discuss one casually? It was one thing for their Master to speak of one, but they were mere small fry. It was better to pretend they had heard nothing.
Still, although they said nothing, the disciples could not help wondering which sage had earned such an evaluation from their Master.
Senior Uncle-Master Grand Pure was someone their Master had always respected. Moreover, Senior Uncle-Master Grand Pure was tranquil and noninterventionist, rarely involving himself in the affairs of the primordial world. It definitely was not Senior Uncle-Master Grand Pure.
Although Senior Uncle-Master Yuqing looked down upon their Jie Teaching, the path he followed was grand and righteous. He would never commit such shameless acts.
There were seven sages in the primordial world. The Dao Ancestor cultivated quietly within Purple Heaven Palace and rarely involved himself in the affairs of the primordial world.
That left only Sage Nuwa, Sage Jieyin, and Sage Zhunti.
Sage Nuwa had always cultivated quietly in Wa Huang Heaven. Her temperament was similar to that of Senior Uncle-Master Grand Pure. Thus, it had to be one of the two Western sages.
This sort of thing did seem like something those two would do!
The Jie Teaching disciples each came to their own conclusions, and their opinion of the Western Two Sages fell another level.
The two sages had become sages by making great vows to the Heavenly Dao. Among the Six Saints of the Heavenly Dao established by the Dao Ancestor, they were the weakest two. Though sages stood above all else, and beneath sages, all were ants—
Sages still differed from one another. Though everyone was an ant before sages, that did not stop them from judging sages in their hearts.
Without question, the two Western sages were absolutely the lowest-ranked among the six sages.
In Wa Huang Heaven, Nuwa calmly glanced below, chuckled softly, and watched the primordial world with great interest.
The primordial earth!
At the edge of Witch Clan territory, Witch Clan settlements were scattered across the land, where young witches played and frolicked.
Suddenly, space twisted in the void, and a spatial passage silently formed.
A massive Golden Crow flapped its wings and flew out from the void. Terrifying True Sun Fire clung to its body. The instant it appeared, scorching heat swept outward, and the surrounding temperature rose sharply. In only a short while, the temperature had increased tremendously, and the river water began to boil.
"Kill every Witch Clan member. Avenge Uncle Ying Zhao!"
The Golden Crow's hate-filled voice rang out. With a flap of its wings, it charged straight toward the Witch Clan settlement before it.
One Golden Crow after another rushed out of the void, shouting murderously, "Kill every Witch Clan member. Avenge Uncle Ying Zhao!"
The ten Golden Crows fully unleashed their auras. Their peak Golden Immortal might swept out, and scorching True Sun Fire burned fiercely between heaven and earth as the temperature in the void rapidly soared.
The ten Golden Crows rushed above the Witch Clan settlement. True Sun Fire roiled as scorching heat enveloped the entire settlement. The sky seemed to turn scarlet, and the normally clear void became crimson. The whole world seemed to become a steamer.
"Kill!"
"Kill every Witch Clan member!"
The ten Golden Crows spoke in unison.
The Golden Crows flapped their wings, unleashing scorching flames. Torrential True Sun Fire poured down as the sky transformed into a sea of fire. When that endless sea of flames descended, some underage Witch Clan members in the settlement were roasted alive. The adult witches did not fare much better, as though they stood within a blazing inferno.
Boom!
Within the Witch Clan settlement, Golden Immortal auras erupted one after another. Several dozen Golden Immortal-level witches soared into the sky, swinging their fists at the sea of fire in the void.
Yet the attacks these witches had always been proud of were useless before the boundless sea of fire. They were swiftly swallowed by the flames and could not affect them in the slightest.
This was a place Zhunti had deliberately selected, where the Witch Clan's strength was at its weakest. This settlement was merely a small Witch Clan tribe, even much smaller than the one Jiang Haofeng had once visited. There was not even a Grand Unity Golden Immortal Battle Witch in the settlement, only a dozen or so Golden Immortal-level young witches.
Yet both sides were Golden Immortals. How could Golden Immortals from a small Witch Clan settlement compare to the Demon Emperor's descendants?
They were descendants born of the Demon Emperor. Their parents were both renowned Great Divine Powers of the primordial world, possessing powerful innate foundations and formidable divine abilities. Setting everything else aside, the True Sun Fire surrounding them was already something the witches could do nothing against.
The dozen or so witches attacked one after another, yet they could not harm the ten Golden Crows in the slightest. The True Sun Fire still rained down from the sky until the sea of flames swallowed the entire Witch Clan settlement!
