Shane survived the battle at God Valley, gained the Azure Dragon power, and pushed himself to awaken Haki while fighting Saint Saturn and the Marines. Rocks overwhelmed the island and declared war on the world, while Shane was left battling Bogard and the young Dragon.

• Shane awakened the Demon Compass’s powers, survived the fighting at Rocky Port, and earned Kaido’s respect after their brutal duel aboard the ship to God Valley.
• At God Valley, Shane killed Celestial Dragons and gained the Azure Dragon power, then joined Kuma and Ivankov as the battle engulfed the island.
• Shane and Kaido fought Sengoku and Saint Saturn, while Rocks defeated Saturn and brought Shane into the Rocks Pirates as an apprentice.
• Shane repeatedly challenged Saint Saturn, awakened Armament Haki, and returned to the fight after Stussy treated his wounds.
• Rocks defeated Kong and unleashed darkness and Conqueror’s Haki across God Valley, then announced his ambition to rule the world through pirates.
• Garp and Roger joined forces against Rocks as the surviving fighters continued battling across the island.

Shane fought through the God Valley battle, awakened Conqueror’s Haki, and witnessed Rocks unleash a disastrous Darkness Awakening before dying. After the Government erased the battle from history, Shane escaped captivity and began recruiting for his own pirate crew.

• Shane fought Bogard and Dragon, then clashed with Zephyr as his drug-enhanced Sulong strength began to fail.
• Shane took Stussy’s pills, fought alongside John, and reached God Valley’s final battleground as Rocks, Roger, and Garp began their decisive clash.
• Shane awakened Conqueror’s Haki, and Rocks sent his Haki into him before the darkness engulfed God Valley.
• Rocks awakened the Dark-Dark Fruit, attacked Devil Fruit users’ Lineage Factors, and wounded Roger before sacrificing himself to a demon.
• After Rocks declared that Shane would inherit his darkness, Rocks’s powers faded and his body turned to stone as Shane vowed to become the next king.
• Shane hid a recording of Rocks, refused Gaban’s invitation, escaped God Valley with Kaido, and gained the [Mutant Physique] reward.
• The World Government erased God Valley’s history and credited Garp with defeating Rocks, while Morgans vowed to expose the truth.
• After Shane and Kaido escaped a Marine Branch with Morley and Sanjuan Wolf, Shane invited Moria to join the Shane Pirates and awakened Conqueror’s Haki during a clash between Dragon and Kaido.

Shane founded his crew, defeated Chinjao, and survived battles with Garp and Sengoku while helping the Ohara scholars escape. The crew explored Sky Island, gained Olvia and Urouge, collected new powers, and left with Kuzan aboard, bound for the Sorbet Kingdom.

• Shane founded the Shane Pirates and led Kaido, Morley, Moria, and the giants through the West Blue, where they met Whitebeard and Chinjao in Flower Country.
• Shane gained the Paw-Paw Fruit, defeated Chinjao in a destructive battle, and sent him into the sea before leaving for Ohara with Kaido and Whitebeard's warning that they would be enemies next time.
• At Ohara, Shane ate the Munch-Munch Fruit, fought Garp and Sengoku, and helped Dr. Clover and the archaeologists escape as the Marines devastated the harbor.
• Shane fled with his crew and Olvia, then gained Fish-Man traits and a mutant exoskeleton as the Demon Compass revealed new powers and choices.
• Sanjuan Wolf landed on Sky Island, where Shane rang the Golden Bell, and Olvia read a Poneglyph describing Poseidon's promise.
• Shane conquered God's Island, recruited Urouge as an apprentice and shipwright, and took the Rumble-Rumble Fruit from Enel's starving mother before sending her and Enel to God's Island.
• After gaining Lunarian traits and Fish-Man Karate, Shane guided the crew off Sky Island and paid for food for the hungry Kuzan, who boarded their ship as they set course for the Sorbet Kingdom.

Shane claimed Sorbet Kingdom, led his crew through the Grand Line, and gathered allies, treasure, and Devil Fruits while pursuing ways to strengthen his unusual body. In Mock Town, he faced Chameleon and CP0 in a battle that ended with both Shane and Chameleon preparing to fight to the death.

• Kuzan found purpose in joining Shane’s crew, and Shane began training him and the other apprentices before the crew reached Sorbet Kingdom.
• Shane’s crew overthrew King Bekori’s forces, claimed Sorbet Kingdom as its first territory, and Kuma and Ginny joined the crew.
• The Shane Pirates fought their way past the Marines and CP9 at the Grand Line entrance, then crossed Reverse Mountain and sailed into the Grand Line.
• Shane fought Dorry and Brogy on Little Garden, then persuaded the Giant captains to rebuild the Giant Warrior Pirates and sail away as his companions.
• At Drum Kingdom, Dr. Kureha warned Shane that his three hearts were the limit for housing devils, prompting him to realize other organs might also hold Devil Fruit powers.
• In Alabasta, Shane found an ancient temple and swallowed a Nika Form Devil Fruit and an Ancient Weapon, then chose to pursue the Ice-Ice Fruit and Vampire Form.
• Shane fused the Rumble-Rumble Fruit with his kidney and confronted Chameleon, CP0, and the Marines in Mock Town, where he fought Chameleon with lightning and Haki.
• Shane countered Chameleon’s attacks with Paw Impact Shockwave and Tyrant Calamity: Three Tomoe, and accepted Chameleon’s challenge to fight until one of them died.
