Zongyan and Uchiha Itachi pushed forward, swiftly helping their clansmen clear out the remaining enemies and expand their gains. Before long, they reached the demons' battlefield.
Before them, Muzan and the Twelve Kizuki all had weakened auras, their bodies covered in wounds that had yet to heal.
They had to withstand the Konoha ninjas' relentless attacks while constantly guarding against the sunlight spilling down from above. The pressure on both fronts had drained them greatly.
Zongyan quickly reached Muzan's side and looked up at Might Guy, who had activated the Eight Gates of Death, and Kakashi, who was coordinating with him. His voice carried over the sounds of battle.
"Might Guy, Kakashi, Hiruzen Sarutobi has already been executed. Why haven't you surrendered?"
Might Guy's muscles tensed, fierce flames burning in his eyes as his bold, booming voice rang out.
"Your Uchiha Clan rebelled and even murdered Lord Third, and now you want us to surrender? Dream on!"
"Youth never yields!"
Kakashi also made his position clear, his eyes filled with refusal.
At those words, a faint smile curved Zongyan's lips. He did not agree with Might Guy's claim.
"It's only called a rebellion if you fail. Now that we've succeeded, this is a revolution."
He held the still-dripping Cursed Blade: Murasame and looked Guy straight in the eye.
"The losers fall, and the victors rise. That is the unchanging theme of the shinobi world. Now that we've won, naturally, we Uchiha have the final say in Konoha!"
"Besides, the First Hokage owed us Uchiha the Hokage position in the first place. What's wrong with taking it ourselves now?"
"You love Konoha, Might Guy, but would Konoha under Uchiha rule somehow cease to be Konoha?"
Might Guy's brows knitted tightly, his fists clenched. Never good with words, he was left speechless
