Yūto tried to get himself killed, but his combat record earned him training from the Elder and a Chunin promotion. Before leaving for war, he helped secure support for the orphanage and joined Minato’s squad on the Kumogakure front, where he fought his first battle.

• Yūto urged the Uchiha to launch a coup, but the clan did not act, and Fugaku and the grand elder each interpreted his outburst as a sign of loyalty to their own side.
• Yūto survived a patrol fight with a spy, then fought Kumogakure attackers alongside Shisui and Tsukimi before Minato rescued him and took him to the hospital.
• After Yūto recovered, the Elder began training him, and Yūto awakened his two-tomoe Sharingan, learned to control his chakra, and demonstrated that he could read the Elder’s movements.

Yūto avenged the Elder by helping defeat Dodai, then protected Tsunade from Kakuzu and helped her overcome her fear of blood. After Kumogakure’s attack revealed Sendō and the Chinoike Clan’s plight, Yūto and Tsukimi prepared to lead a rescue mission, leaving together after a drugged night went awry.

• Dodai’s ambush killed the Elder, and Yūto awakened his Three-Tomoe Sharingan before Minato rescued him and carried him back to camp.
• Yūto vowed revenge on Dodai and devised a plan with Fugaku, Tsunade, Tsukimi, and Minato to draw Kumogakure’s forces away from its camp.
• Yūto and Tsukimi attacked the abandoned Kumogakure camp, where Tsunade helped mortally wound Dodai before they escaped.
• Konoha promoted Yūto to Jonin, and Tsunade later joined him on a supply escort that ended in a confrontation with Kakuzu.
• Yūto took Kakuzu’s attack meant for Tsunade, and Tsunade overcame her hemophobia, defeated Kakuzu, and treated Yūto’s wound.
• An enemy attack caused Konoha ninja to go berserk and self-destruct, and Yūto and Tsukimi later encountered Kumogakure ninja during a patrol.
• Yūto and Tsukimi captured Sendō, who revealed that Kumogakure was holding the Chinoike Clan hostage and that his people needed help escaping Hell Valley.
• Fugaku offered Uchiha support for a rescue, and Minato assigned Yūto and Tsukimi to lead it with Sendō as their guide, after Tsukimi drugged Yūto and fell asleep beside him, he woke fearing the consequences.

Yūto rescued the Chinoike Clan from Hell Valley, then escorted Yugito Nii through Yugakure and defeated Hidan while evading Kumogakure. Back in Konoha, the Chinoike settled beside the Uchiha, though Danzo still sought control of their Ketsuryūgan.

• Yūto chose Shikaku’s Plan B and led Tsukimi and Sendō in disguising themselves as Kumogakure patrol members to reach the Chinoike Clan.
• Yūto persuaded En to evacuate the clan to Konoha, then drew Kumogakure’s forces away while the Chinoike escaped and took Yugito Nii with him.
• Yūto and Yugito Nii stopped in Yugakure, where Hidan attacked her and killed the Yukage before Yūto lured him to a volcano and kicked him into the magma.
• Yūto and Yugito Nii escaped Kumogakure pursuers by ship, then Yugito attacked Shiroi’s group when they tried to reclaim her.
• At Konoha’s headquarters, Yūto defended Yugito from A, while Konoha’s leaders negotiated 350 million ryō in reparations in exchange for returning her.
• Yūna asked Yūto to train her daughter Chino and protect the Chinoike Clan from Danzo, and Yūto agreed to help.
• Fugaku arranged for the Chinoike to settle beside the Uchiha compound, and the Third Hokage placed them under Uchiha supervision to thwart Danzo’s attempt to recruit them into Root.

Yūto exposed Danzo’s Root through his novel, then joined Tsunade on the Sunagakure front and fought to defend Konoha. After rescuing Pakura from Sunagakure’s betrayal and recruiting her into the Uchiha Clan, he set out with her to seize the One-Tail.

• Yūto entrusted Chino’s training to Shisui, then published the next volume of Icha Icha Paradise, provoking public scrutiny of Danzo and Root.
• Hiruzen confined Danzo and resolved the Chinoike Clan’s harassment, then sent Tsunade to the Sunagakure front with Yūto and Shisui.
• Yūto revealed his Three-Tomoe Sharingan, defeated Sunagakure forces, and took command of the Fifth Company, including Genma Shiranui and Ebisu.
• Yūto captured Pakura and Maki, then fought Rasa’s army at Outpost Seven until Tsunade defeated Rasa and forced Sunagakure to retreat.
