Withered Reed Plain
In the Astrology Room, Lu Heng finished his long period of deep meditation.
The fatigue from the days of fighting had completely subsided, and his physical and mental state had returned to a stable and full state. He slowly stood up, his gaze calm and settled.
Currently, there are four areas he can explore: the Withered Reed Plain, the Blazing Flame Hills, the Blackwater Swamp, and the Mist Forest.
Lu Heng did not make a decision based on his subjective thoughts. He raised his hand, took out the Astrology Block, and gently shook it in his palm. The wooden block rolled away from his hand, flipped several times, and then came to a steady stop, pointing in the direction of the Withered Reed Plain.
Having determined his destination, Lu Heng turned and left the Astrology Room, exiting the Cliffside Fortress Shelter.
He pulled out the Off-Road Motorcycle parked outside, straddled the frame, and started the engine. A deep mechanical roar suddenly broke the silence of the forest. Lu Heng drove the motorcycle along the natural path that had been trodden by pedestrians and wild animals over the years in the Frost Forest, speeding forward.
The deafening roar of the engine penetrated through the layers of trees and echoed throughout the forest.
At this moment, within the Frost Forest, there were still many scattered survivors exploring and collecting scarce resources. The sudden mechanical noise was extremely rare and instantly attracted everyone's attention.
The survivors stopped what they were doing and gathered by the path, trying to find the source of the sound.
When everyone saw the scene in the middle of the path, all their movements stopped.
On the narrow road, a strange man clad in Blood-Red Armor was speeding along on an Off-Road Motorcycle he had never seen before.
The eyes of all the survivors present were instantly filled with deep envy.
In the apocalypse, mechanical tools are extremely rare and scarce resources, and ordinary survivors have no chance to come into contact with them. Looking at Lu Heng's chilling and murderous aura and his thick, exquisite Blood-Red Armor, anyone could tell at a glance that he was a top-tier expert whose strength far exceeded that of ordinary people.
No one dared to harbor even the slightest thought of plunder or provocation.
Facing such a powerful figure with such equipment and aura, rashly provoking him would be tantamount to suicide. The survivors only dared to observe from afar for a moment, not daring to linger, and silently turned back to the depths of the forest to continue their resource exploration.
Lu Heng ignored everything and continued speeding along the forest path without slowing down.
This naturally formed path greatly saved time and energy for the journey. After traveling for more than an hour, Lu Heng finally drove out of the Frost Forest and successfully arrived at the territory of the Withered Reed Plain.
After landing and regaining his footing, Lu Heng felt a surge of emotion in his heart.
Without this existing path, it would take at least half a day and a lot of physical exertion to clear a path by hand and traverse the messy forest.
He got off the motorcycle and activated his newly acquired Silver Storage Ring. With a gentle mental movement, the Off-Road Motorcycle parked by the roadside was instantly and securely stored in the spacious ring space, safe and without taking up much room.
After properly handling the vehicle, Lu Heng stepped forward and steadily walked into the depths of the Withered Reed Plain.
The entire area was covered with withered yellow reeds, the view was open and desolate, and all around was silent except for the soft sound of the wind rustling through the reeds.
Lu Heng maintained a steady pace and continued forward. After venturing some distance into the Withered Reed Plain, a series of noisy and chaotic noises suddenly came from ahead, completely shattering the deathly silence of the area.
There were muffled thuds of heavy objects tearing flesh, the sounds of large mouthfuls of food being chewed, and a series of rough and savage shouts of argument, all chaotic and jarring, yet clearly audible.
Lu Heng immediately slowed his pace, concealed his presence, and silently approached to investigate, using the cover of the withered reeds.
After parting the layers of reeds, the entire open space in front of us came into full view.
In the center of the flat open space, three or four dead Big-Horned Sheep lay lying on their sides, their bodies mangled and covered in blood.
An Elite Green Demon Squad was entrenched around the sheep carcass, devouring the fresh flesh with unbridled gusto. Several Green Demon scrambled and jostled each other for food, their shouts and jeers creating a deafening cacophony.
Every word of the argument was clearly audible to Lu Heng.
"Damn it, leave me some!"
"Get lost! You're the one who eats slowly and you're still complaining!"
"Delicious, so delicious, this flesh and blood!"
Listening to the greedy and arrogant noise of this group of alien races, and watching them wantonly seize local resources and hunt local creatures, Lu Heng felt a sense of helplessness.
Just how cowardly have the survivors and wild beasts become on the Withered Reed Plain?
The native inhabitants and survivors should be guarding this area and keeping an eye on the alien races. But now, the Elite Green Demon Squad has openly invaded the Inner Region, hunting, eating, and fighting for resources at will, without any hindrance or restraint, allowing the alien races to run rampant.
Lu Heng slightly raised his hand, rubbed his temples, and a cold glint flashed in his eyes.
He raised his hand and grasped the Goblin Battleaxe hanging beside him. The cold, hard handle settled in his hand, feeling solid and heavy.
With his gaze fixed firmly on the Green Demon Squad ahead, who remained oblivious and continued to recklessly scramble for flesh and blood, Lu Heng's mind was made up.
Since there's no one to restrain the native creatures, then he'll have to take action.
Let me see you off on your way.
