Chapters 451–465 Vol. 5 Read

Ch. 451Parting Ways

Lu Heng and Su Meng parted ways at the mine, with Su Meng staying behind while Lu Heng headed toward the volcano. He found a guarded red-stone building and reached a sealed door that resisted his attempts to sense what lay beyond it.

  • Lu Heng told Su Meng that his next destination was too dangerous and suggested she stay at the mine among its resources.
  • Su Meng chose to remain in the mine, and Lu Heng set off alone toward the volcano.
  • Lu Heng followed a passage growing hotter and more sulfurous until he found a large red-stone building guarded by armored patrols.
  • Lu Heng entered the building and approached a sealed door that he believed concealed his target.
  • Lu Heng tried to sense beyond the door, but intense heat repelled his mental power, so he decided to find another way inside.

Ch. 452Evacuation (Two-in-One)

Lu Heng infiltrated a fiery building, learned that the world was collapsing and its Portal might be repaired, then returned to the Crimson Rock mine to recover while Su Meng waited. He left the Gold Tier king unlocated and prepared to keep watch in case danger returned.

  • Lu Heng used Blood Taisui to sneak into the building and overheard Goblins and Green Demons discussing their failing world, lost forces, and the damaged Portal.
  • Lu Heng killed thirteen Goblins and Green Demons in the halls and council chamber, then studied a map that appeared to mark the Portal's location.
  • Lu Heng took a broken sword with a dark red gemstone and escaped the building without finding the Portal or the Gold Tier king.
  • Lu Heng returned to the mine, where Su Meng had gathered Crimson Rock with the Many-Treasure Mouse, and meditated for four hours while Blood Taisui digested the remains.
  • Lu Heng and Su Meng agreed to take turns keeping watch as dust thickened around the mine.

Ch. 453Escape

Lu Heng sensed a Gold Tier Mental Energy searching the mining area and fled alone toward the volcano, using the magma’s heat to break its lock. He hid in a cave after the energy withdrew, realizing that the Gold Tier king had returned and remaining on guard.

  • Lu Heng detected a Gold Tier Mental Energy sweep the mine and recognized that it had locked onto him.
  • Lu Heng ordered Su Meng to flee east with the Many-Treasure Mouse while he drew the pursuer away.
  • Lu Heng rode his Off-Road Motorcycle toward the volcano and raced beside a lava river to disrupt the mental lock.
  • Lu Heng hid his motorcycle in a cave, waited until the Mental Energy withdrew, and concluded that the Gold Tier king had returned.
  • Lu Heng stayed in the cave, suppressed his aura, and kept watch in case the pursuer came back.

Ch. 454Volcano

Lu Heng ventured deeper into the volcano to hide from a Gold Tier king and search for a way out of the world. After evading a Lava Dragon Lizard, he found Lava Crystals and a Dragon Rock Fruit, then noticed an unidentified crystal at the bottom of an underground pool as the water’s surface stirred.

  • Lu Heng stayed hidden from the Gold Tier king and entered the volcano, hoping its heat would conceal him while he searched for resources.
  • He found a Silver Tier Lava Dragon Lizard guarding a ledge and slipped past it, but it woke and attacked him with lava breath.
  • Lu Heng escaped into a narrow cave the lizard could not enter and discovered Silver Tier Lava Crystals in its walls.
  • He explored an underground chamber, identified a Dragon Rock Fruit, and harvested it using a Lava Crystal to handle its heat.
  • Lu Heng spotted an unidentifiable crystal beneath a pool of dark red water, and the film floating on the water suddenly moved.

Ch. 455Raiding the Lair

Lu Heng raided the Lava Dragon Lizard’s lair, defeated a swarm of Lava Leeches by freezing them, and collected materials and two Volcanic Crystals. When the lizard returned, he escaped through a narrow crack and reached the far side of the crater with supplies that might help repair the Portal.

  • Lu Heng fought off attacking Lava Leeches and discovered their corrosive slime could damage his Blood Taisui armor and Star Blade.
  • Lu Heng froze the pool and the leeches, then harvested seven Lava Leech Carapaces.
  • Lu Heng collected two Volcanic Crystals from the pool before hearing the Lava Dragon Lizard return.
  • Lu Heng escaped through a narrow passage the lizard could not enter and emerged on the far side of the crater.
  • Lu Heng meditated outside the lair with the collected materials that might help repair the Portal.

Ch. 456Enhancement

After escaping the Lava Dragon Lizard, Lu Heng used volcanic crystals and a Dragon Rock Fruit to strengthen his Star Blade and fire power. He then left the crater along a narrow path that descended toward an unknown destination.

  • Lu Heng escaped through a fissure blocked by fallen boulders and recovered his energy while the Lava Dragon Lizard roared in its nest.
  • He pressed a volcanic crystal against the Star Blade, which absorbed its fire energy and allowed him to unleash a ranged blade light, though it resisted his Frost energy.
  • Lu Heng ate the Dragon Rock Fruit, further strengthening his fire power and making his Star Blade's attacks hotter.
  • He left the crater and cautiously followed a narrow path beside a deep rift as the temperature and sulfur smell gradually diminished.

Ch. 457Blocking the Exit

Lu Heng tried to escape the volcano but found the Gold Tier Goblin King waiting outside and was driven into a cavern above a lava pool. When the cavern collapsed, he escaped through a hidden passage and fled down the volcano's flank.

  • Lu Heng emerged from the cave, saw the Goblin King blocking the exit, and ran back into the volcano.
  • Lu Heng fled into a narrow passage and became trapped in a cavern with a lava pool as the Goblin King waited outside.
  • The Goblin King smashed through the cavern entrance and attacked, while Lu Heng used the Star Blade and a kick to make it strike the thin rock floor.
  • Lava spread across the cavern, but the Goblin King advanced through it toward Lu Heng.
  • The cavern ceiling collapsed between them, forcing the Goblin King to retreat as Lu Heng crawled through a hidden passage and escaped onto the volcano's flank.
  • Lu Heng heard the cavern collapse behind him and sprinted toward the forest.

Ch. 458Stone strike

Lu Heng fled the Goblin King across the volcano’s scorched slopes, using the Blood Taisui to deflect the rocks it threw. He escaped into the forest and continued deeper into it, knowing he still needed to find a safe place to recover.

  • Lu Heng rode his Off-Road Motorcycle away from the volcano as the Goblin King chased him and hurled volcanic rocks.
  • Lu Heng used the Blood Taisui to deflect repeated rock strikes, but the effort drained his strength.
  • Lu Heng steered through volcanic rocks and down a gravel slope toward dense scrub as the Goblin King closed in.
  • The Goblin King stopped at the scrub’s edge and did not pursue Lu Heng inside.
  • Lu Heng rode through the scrub and across the wasteland to the forest, then stopped to catch his breath.
  • Lu Heng headed deeper into the forest to get away from the volcano and find a safe place to recover.

Ch. 459Escape

After escaping the Goblin King, Lu Heng crossed a barren wasteland and explored a ravine, where he found signs of recent human activity and a route to ruined buildings. He discovered fresh footprints leading toward a hidden creature and waited behind a wall with his dagger drawn.

  • Lu Heng confirmed the Goblin King had not followed him and rested before making his way toward a ravine.
  • Lu Heng found a fresh drag mark at the ravine’s edge, descended into it, and followed a rough-hewn passage marked with black stains.
  • Lu Heng discovered a cave containing glowing crystals, cold ashes, a damaged backpack, a broken dagger, and a shattered Wristband.
  • Lu Heng left the cave through an ascending passage and emerged near the remains of collapsed buildings.
  • Lu Heng found fresh overlapping footprints in the ruins and sensed a faintly breathing creature in the shadows, then waited behind a wall with his dagger ready.

Ch. 460Facing It

Lu Heng encountered a strange lizard-like creature in the ruins, then discovered the Goblin King searching nearby. The Goblin King cornered and badly injured him, and Lu Heng watched its hammer fall as he lay helpless.

  • Lu Heng cautiously passed a lizard-like creature with glowing blue eyes hiding in the wreckage.
  • Lu Heng heard the Goblin King nearby and saw it searching the ruins without noticing him.
  • Lu Heng fled across the wreckage, but the Goblin King spotted him and chased him toward a widening fissure and cliff.
  • Lu Heng used Blood Taisui to deflect the Goblin King's hammer, but the blows left him badly injured and unable to escape.
  • The Goblin King stood over Lu Heng and brought its iron hammer down as Lu Heng lay helpless.

Ch. 461Not Killing Him?

Lu Heng realized the Goblin King had been testing him to confirm the presence of Blood Taisui rather than trying to kill him. The Goblin King led him deeper into the wreckage, and Lu Heng followed despite not knowing what awaited him.

  • The Goblin King tracked Lu Heng by the scent of black soil from the ravine and repeatedly cut off his escape.
  • Lu Heng exhausted himself blocking and dodging the Goblin King's attacks while Blood Taisui grew too weak to protect him.
  • The Goblin King struck the ground with its hammer, causing black water like the ravine's seepage to emerge.
  • Lu Heng concluded that the Goblin King was testing for Blood Taisui and needed him alive for now.
  • The Goblin King put away its hammer and walked into the wreckage, and Lu Heng followed.

Ch. 462Human?

Lu Heng learned that the Goblin King had once been human and wanted the Survival World to give the Goblins a place to survive. After returning through the Wristband, Lu Heng tried to ask the forest will to accept them, but received no clear answer.

  • The Goblin King led Lu Heng through the wasteland to a cave containing a massive dragon skeleton.
  • The Goblin King revealed that it had once been human and that Gold Tier survivors transformed into other races.
  • The Goblin King explained that it had chosen to become a Goblin and asked Lu Heng to seek a refuge for its people in the Survival World.
  • Lu Heng returned to the world inside the Wristband and tried to convey the Goblins' plea to the forest will.
  • The forest will responded with hesitation but gave no definite answer, and Lu Heng resolved to grow stronger and keep trying.

Ch. 463Waiting

Lu Heng learned that the Forest Will had granted the Goblins and Green Demons Hill Valley and given him a jade reward for his service. He discovered that Gold Tier advancement normally required repaying everything he had gained, then went to the Star Altar to ask the power that favored him how he could advance.

  • The Forest Will told Lu Heng that Hill Valley belonged to the Goblins and Green Demons as long as they did not damage the forest.
  • The Forest Will gave Lu Heng a piece of jade and explained that his service canceled the debt he would otherwise owe for resources, items, and power before reaching Gold Tier.
  • When Lu Heng asked how to advance to Gold Tier, the Forest Will told him to ask the power that favored him and then vanished.
  • Lu Heng entered the Shelter, went to the Astrology Room, and knelt before the Star Altar, waiting for the unseen presence to appear.

Ch. 464A True Human

Inside the Star Altar, Lu Heng learned that the Five-Colored Human Race were the original humans favored by the gods, whose souls had reincarnated across different worlds. The little star revealed that Lu Heng’s soul itself belonged to that race, and he was left absorbing the truth.

  • Lu Heng entered a star-filled space through the Star Altar and felt an inexplicable mixture of danger, fascination, and dependence toward the stars.
  • A small star resembling Earth told Lu Heng about the Five-Colored Human Race, the ancient humans created and favored by the gods, and how jealous beings had harmed and displaced them.
  • The star explained that descendants of the Five-Colored Human Race were classified as Gold, Silver, or Bronze according to their bloodline purity.
  • Lu Heng connected the star’s explanation of divine favor to the Forest Will’s final words and asked what he was.
  • The star examined Lu Heng and revealed that his soul itself belonged to the Five-Colored Human Race, making him one of the original humans rather than a descendant.

Ch. 465The End

Little Star revealed that Lu Heng belonged to the Five-Colored Human Race and offered him a choice between becoming a Lord of the World Fragment or being reborn as a Star God. Lu Heng chose to sleep and become a new star, as Moonview Valley and the Shelter transformed into the beginnings of a planet.

  • Little Star explained that ancient myths preserved memories of the Five-Colored Human Race’s original features, which faded as its bloodline was diluted.
  • Little Star confirmed Lu Heng’s identity and offered him the choice of slowly advancing as a Lord of the World Fragment or giving up his life to become a Star God.
  • Lu Heng chose to become a Star God, saying he was tired and did not want to keep going.
  • Lu Heng closed his eyes and began to sleep as the stars illuminated the darkness around him.
  • Moonview Valley and the Shelter transformed into light and seeds that gathered into a new planet taking shape.
  • Little Star watched over the forming planet and said it would wait for Lu Heng to awaken.
