Ch. 381Risk

Lu Heng fought a Silver Big Goblin while its Bronze squad formed a coordinated battle array that threatened to break through his defenses. After wounding the Big Goblin with the Kiss of Nightmare, he prepared his forces for another assault as the battle remained on a knife’s edge.

  • The Bronze Green Demons formed ranks under the Big Goblin’s command, prompting Lu Heng to send Bone Demon and the two robots to block their advance.
  • Lu Heng fired the Kiss of Nightmare at the charging Big Goblin, wounding it and making it wary of approaching him.
  • Bone Demon held the formation’s assault while crossbow bolts, the robots, and the Bloodthirsty Vine attacked the Green Demons, but the squad rotated its ranks and maintained formation.
  • Lu Heng assessed the risks of using the gun at close range or continuing to fight with the Insect Armor Sword as the Big Goblin directed its squad to press forward.
  • The Big Goblin raised its axe for another attack, and Lu Heng sent orders to his combat units to prepare for the assault.

Ch. 382Advancement

Lu Heng used the Frost Talisman and his mental energy to freeze the Big Goblin long enough to kill it with a point-blank shotgun blast. He advanced to Silver Tier and led the cleanup of the remaining Green Demons, leaving the battlefield silent.

  • Lu Heng detonated the Frost Talisman and suppressed the Big Goblin with mental pressure, briefly immobilizing it.
  • Lu Heng shot the Big Goblin at point-blank range, killing the Silver Tier monster.
  • The Big Goblin's death activated Lu Heng's Greedy Wolf Power, draining its origin energy and blood essence and advancing him to Silver Tier.
  • Lu Heng charged the Green Demon rearguard and killed the remaining Bronze Green Demons with help from the Crossbow Towers, Bloodthirsty Vines, Bone Demon, and robots.
  • The battle ended with the Green Demon Squad eliminated and Lu Heng's Silver Tier energy settling.

Ch. 383Rewards

After reaching Silver Tier and defeating the Green Demons, Lu Heng claimed three rewards and built the Crescent Moon Spring beside his Shelter. He ended the night resting and reading survivors’ messages, aware that another battle awaited.

  • Lu Heng checked his tally of forty-eight Black Iron Tier Green Demons, eight Bronze Tier elite Green Demons, and one Silver Tier Big Goblin as the battlefield and its remains vanished.
  • A Victorious Chest appeared, and Lu Heng obtained a Blood Qi Rune, a Silver Tier Goblin Battleaxe, and a Crescent Moon Spring template.
  • Lu Heng placed the Crescent Moon Spring outside his Shelter and directed the Mech-Driven Butler and Furniture Puppet to build a moonlit pavilion over it.
  • Lu Heng read survivor messages on the regional public channel but did not post or show off his rewards.
  • Lu Heng rested beside the spring as distant mutant howls signaled that another round of fighting was coming.

Ch. 384A cry for help

After reaching silver tier and preparing a celebratory meal, Lu Heng received a warning that creatures were approaching Moonview Valley. He found the Wolf King’s battered pack fleeing an elite Green Demon Squad and charged in with his new Goblin Battleaxe to help.

  • Lu Heng celebrated his victory by having the Mech-Driven Butler and Furniture Puppet prepare a lavish meal.
  • An elite squad of eight Green Demons ambushed the wolves in the Frost Forest and overwhelmed them with coordinated attacks.
  • The Wolf King ordered the pack to retreat, then stayed behind to hold off the Green Demons as the wolves fled toward Moonview Valley.
  • Lu Heng received an alert about approaching creatures, took up the Goblin Battleaxe, and went to investigate.
  • Lu Heng saw the Wolf King fighting alone to protect his pack and decided to help.
  • Lu Heng activated Blood Qi Rune, coated the Goblin Battleaxe with blood qi, and charged the Green Demon Squad.

Ch. 385Testing the axe

Lu Heng tested his new Goblin Battleaxe against an organized squad of eight Bronze elite Green Demons, refining a fighting style that combined blood energy with active blood absorption from Greedy Wolf Power. After defeating the squad and storing the Victorious Chest, he headed back to Moonview Valley, wary of the Green Demons’ growing organization and the signs of planar encroachment.

  • Lu Heng charged the Green Demon Squad to practice wielding his heavy battleaxe, using controlled attacks to refine his sequences against their coordinated assault.
  • Lu Heng actively used Greedy Wolf Power with the axe, absorbing blood energy from his enemies while the weapon’s runes inflicted tearing damage.
  • After mastering the weapon’s handling and the powers’ rhythm, Lu Heng unleashed his full strength and defeated all eight Green Demons.
  • A Victorious Chest appeared, and Lu Heng stored it in his Wristband without opening it; the Wolf King approached submissively, but Lu Heng ignored the wolves.
  • Lu Heng reviewed his new combat abilities, recognized the Green Demons’ advance as a sign of planar encroachment, and returned toward Moonview Valley.

Ch. 386Deeper In

After defeating eight Bronze Elite Green Demons, Lu Heng opened their treasure chest and gained their language, Bone-Patterned War Boots, and reconnaissance skills. He secretly surveyed Frost Forest and found the Green Demons organizing into patrols and squads, then returned to Moonview Valley as their gathering grew louder.

  • Lu Heng reviewed his weapons and combat abilities over dinner and judged that he could handle Silver Tier opponents.
  • Lu Heng opened the Bronze Elite Victor's Treasure Chest and learned Green Demon warning calls, acquired Bone-Patterned War Boots, and gained reconnaissance and camouflage experience.
  • Lu Heng entered Frost Forest alone and used his new skills to interpret Green Demon calls and examine tracks, camps, and other signs.
  • Lu Heng confirmed that the Green Demons were organizing into patrols, assemblies, and temporary camps, then withdrew without going deeper.
  • Lu Heng returned to Moonview Valley and prepared his weapons as a growing rumble came from the gathered creatures in Frost Forest.

Ch. 387Exposed

Lu Heng abandoned his attempt to hide after Green Demons found his tracks and prepared an ambush with the Blood Taisui’s mycelium. He killed all 66 Green Demons, and a finely patterned Victorious Chest appeared in the cleared woodland.

  • Lu Heng realized his inexperienced concealment had left obvious tracks and advanced toward the approaching Green Demons instead of continuing to hide.
  • Lu Heng spread the Blood Taisui’s mycelium through the woodland, then killed the first Bronze Green Demon with his Goblin Battleaxe.
  • Twenty-four Bronze Green Demons and forty-two Black Iron Green Demons converged, but Lu Heng’s mycelium restrained them and disrupted the Bronze squads’ coordination.
  • Lu Heng killed the three Bronze Green Demon leaders, broke the remaining monsters’ coordination, and hunted down those fleeing into Frost Forest.
  • After Lu Heng confirmed that no Green Demons remained, their bodies vanished and a finely patterned Victorious Chest appeared in the clearing.

Ch. 388A mage?

Lu Heng discovered a Goblin Mage guarding a Teleportation Device that continuously produced Green Demons, and his attempted ambush was exposed by the mage’s mental probe. As the fight escalated, he focused on breaking through the guards to reach the mage and stop the device.

  • Lu Heng spotted a Goblin Mage, two Bronze Tier Green Demons, and a Teleportation Device spawning Black Iron Tier Green Demons in a clearing.
  • Lu Heng sent Blood Taisui’s mycelium toward the mage and device, but the Goblin Mage detected it with a mental probe.
  • The Goblin Mage attacked Lu Heng with a Void Hand, which Lu Heng shattered with Mind Spike, alerting the monsters.
  • Lu Heng fought the charging Green Demons, killed one Bronze Green Demon with help from the mycelium, and absorbed its vital energy.
  • The Goblin Mage fired spell projectiles as another Green Demon emerged, and Lu Heng recognized that he needed to defeat the mage and disable the device quickly.

Ch. 389An unexpected turn

Lu Heng defeated the Green Demons emerging from the Teleportation Device, then charged the Goblin Mage and discovered it could withstand his axe and cast a Sleep Spell. He resisted the spell with his Mental Energy, but another Green Demon appeared as the real fight with the mage began.

  • Lu Heng killed the berserk Bronze Green Demon with a well-timed axe strike.
  • Lu Heng used Blood Taisui mycelium to restrain the Black Iron Green Demons and killed them one by one, but the Teleportation Device continued spawning more.
  • Lu Heng dodged the Goblin Mage's spells and closed the distance, expecting it to be weak in melee.
  • The Goblin Mage blocked Lu Heng's axe with its staff and cast a Sleep Spell at close range.
  • Lu Heng broke the spell's hold with his Mental Energy and retreated as another Black Iron Green Demon emerged from the Teleportation Device.

Ch. 390Couldn't Cut Through

Lu Heng killed the Goblin Mage but could not damage the teleportation array, which continued bringing monsters into the Frost Forest. With the Forest Will silent and his other attacks exhausted, he discovered the Frost Talisman trembling and brought it toward the array.

  • Lu Heng drew the Goblin Mage into a close-range fight, then used the Kiss of Nightmare to kill it instantly.
  • Lu Heng attacked the teleportation array with his battleaxe and mental energy, but neither affected it.
  • Lu Heng sensed that the Forest Will had stopped responding as another Black Iron Green Demon emerged from the array, and he killed it.
  • Lu Heng unleashed his High-Temperature Talent, Greedy Wolf Power, and every available strength against the array, but it remained unharmed.
  • Lu Heng took out the Frost Talisman, felt it tremble, and moved it toward the teleportation array.

Ch. 391Advance notice

Lu Heng destroyed the Frost Forest’s teleportation array with the Frost Talisman, gained the Frost Talent, and learned from the Forest Will that a counteroffensive against the Green Demons’ plane would come later. As nearby survivors approached, he stored the three reward chests and left the clearing without confronting them.

  • The Frost Talisman froze and destroyed the teleportation array, stopping the invasion of the Frost Forest.
  • The shattered talisman’s essence entered Lu Heng, and his Wristband announced that he had gained the Frost Talent.
  • The Forest Will told Lu Heng that the Frost Forest was safe, other invasion nodes remained in nearby regions, and a planar counteroffensive would begin in the future.
  • Three reward chests appeared in the clearing: a Goblin Mage chest, a standard Victorious Chest, and a special reward from the Forest Will.
  • Hearing survivors approaching, Lu Heng stored all three chests in his Wristband and withdrew through a concealed route.

Ch. 392Being Followed

After leaving the battlefield with three treasure chests, Lu Heng noticed five survivors following him, hoping to rob him. He secretly spread Blood Taisui’s mycelium through the woods, and the story left off as the five surrounded him and demanded his supplies.

  • Lu Heng stored the three treasure chests and left the teleportation array ruins, avoiding survivors drawn to the disturbance.
  • Lu Heng sensed five concealed figures watching him but continued on without confronting them.
  • The five survivors mistook Lu Heng for an exhausted, weakened looter and secretly followed him, intending to steal his gear and supplies.
  • Lu Heng realized they were tailing him and silently spread Blood Taisui’s mycelium through the woods to block their approach and escape routes.
  • The five survivors sprang from the trees, surrounded Lu Heng, and demanded everything he had.
  • Lu Heng remained calm, aware that the five had already entered his trap.

Ch. 393Begging for mercy

Lu Heng used the Blood Taisui to devour five men who tried to rob him, then waited as three stronger pursuers approached. The newcomers launched an attack, unaware that Lu Heng had already seen their movements through the King Snake.

  • Five men surrounded Lu Heng and threatened to rob him, but he restrained them with hidden Blood Taisui mycelium.
  • The five pleaded for mercy, but Lu Heng ordered the Blood Taisui to devour them.
  • After the five were consumed, Lu Heng detected three cautious figures approaching through the woods.
  • The leader's Danger Sense warned the three that Lu Heng was overwhelmingly dangerous, but they chose to fight rather than flee.
  • The three attacked with a Molotov cocktail and a cloud of lime powder, while Lu Heng used the King Snake's vision to track their moves.

Ch. 394Waiting

Lu Heng used King Snake to kill the three survivors who had attacked him, then searched the forest to ensure no other threats remained. With Frost Forest's invasion node destroyed and the area cleared, he left to recover, master his new talents, and prepare to eliminate the remaining invasion nodes.

  • Lu Heng sent King Snake through the flames and lime dust to bite the machete-wielding survivor, whose body was overwhelmed by agony.
  • The other two survivors lost their will to fight, and Lu Heng killed all three before their equipment dissolved into white light and entered his Wristband's Storage Space.
  • Annoyed by repeated attacks, Lu Heng stayed in the forest and searched the area with his mental power until he confirmed no other survivors or pursuers remained.
  • Lu Heng confirmed that the Frost Forest invasion node had been destroyed and that the area's remaining trouble was cleared.
  • Lu Heng left Frost Forest to find a secluded place to recover, adjust to his cold-heat dual talents, open three treasure chests, and prepare to clear the other invasion nodes.

Ch. 395A great haul

After returning to the Moonview Valley Shelter, Lu Heng opened the chests from his Frost Forest hunt and gained abilities, equipment, and spells that strengthened his recovery and combat options. He prepared to open the Blood-Colored Treasure Chest granted by the Forest Will.

  • Lu Heng opened the Victorious Chest and gained the Food Supplement Technique, a Blood-and-Flesh Fruit Tree Seed, and a Goblin Standard-Issue Crossbow.
  • Lu Heng opened the Goblin Mage's chest and obtained a Silver Tier Bone Necklace, the Goblin Meditation Method, and a Simple Fire Skills Compendium containing three fire spells.
  • Lu Heng put on the bone necklace, stored the fire spell compendium, and set aside the Goblin Meditation Method because his Stellar Meditation Method was superior.
  • Lu Heng used the Food Supplement Technique to ease his aches, then reached to open the Blood-Colored Treasure Chest from the Forest Will.

Ch. 396Advancement

Lu Heng claimed three survival-focused treasures, rested after clearing the Frost Forest’s main threats, and discovered that the Blood-Devouring Vine was advancing after consuming high-tier corpses. He also found that the Purifying Water Lotus had reached silver tier and could produce restorative seeds, then waited at the Astrology Altar for the vine’s breakthrough and his condition to stabilize.

  • Lu Heng opened the final Forest Will treasure chest and received a one-use weekly teleportation talisman, a large Silver Tier Storage Ring, and a silver tier Protector Necklace.
  • Lu Heng returned to the Cliffside Fortress Shelter, ate, and rested through the night before deciding to spend the next day recovering.
  • Lu Heng found the Blood-Devouring Vine at Moonview Valley curled into dormancy and advancing after consuming the remains of high-tier creatures, including silver tier beings.
  • Lu Heng discovered that the Purifying Water Lotus had quietly reached silver tier and could produce a restorative Lotus Seed every three days.
  • Lu Heng harvested vegetables, ate, and waited at the Astrology Altar for the Blood-Devouring Vine to finish advancing and for his condition to stabilize.

Ch. 397Withered Reed Plain

Lu Heng traveled from Frost Forest to Withered Reed Plain, where he found an Elite Green Demon Squad feeding on dead Big-Horned Sheep. Seeing that no one was resisting the invaders, he prepared to attack them himself.

  • Lu Heng used the Astrology Block to choose Withered Reed Plain as his destination.
  • He rode his Off-Road Motorcycle through Frost Forest, drawing the attention of nearby survivors, who watched him pass and kept their distance.
  • After reaching Withered Reed Plain, Lu Heng stored his motorcycle in his Silver Storage Ring and walked into the reeds.
  • He discovered an Elite Green Demon Squad eating several dead Big-Horned Sheep and arguing over the food.
  • Lu Heng grasped his Goblin Battleaxe and decided to attack the Green Demons.

Ch. 398Differences in terrain

Lu Heng fought and killed four Elite Green Demons on the Withered Reed Plain, but the battle drew a much larger group of demons toward him. As the demons closed in, he prepared to face another fight without opening the Victorious Chest.

  • Lu Heng charged the four Elite Green Demons before they could surround him and wounded one with his Goblin Battleaxe.
  • Lu Heng evaded the demons’ attacks, struck their weak points, and killed two of them.
  • The two remaining Elite Green Demons abandoned their tactics and attacked recklessly, but Lu Heng killed them after several more minutes of fighting.
  • A Victorious Chest appeared where the demons’ bodies dissolved, but Lu Heng heard Green Demon cries approaching from across the plain.
  • Lu Heng saw countless dark figures advancing through the reeds and readied his Goblin Battleaxe for the approaching threat.

Ch. 399Mindset

Lu Heng was approached by a local survivor while Green Demons converged on him, and learned that the Withered Reed Plain’s people survived by waiting for monsters to weaken one another rather than fighting them. After paying the man for shelter, Lu Heng left the pit wary of the locals as well as the monsters, while the Green Demons continued closing in.

  • Lu Heng collected a Victorious Chest after killing the last Elite Green Demon and prepared to face the approaching horde.
  • A middle-aged survivor called Lu Heng into a concealed pit and warned him that his fighting had drawn nearby Green Demons.
  • The survivor explained that locals waited for Green Demons and mutant beasts to fight, then scavenged the remains instead of clearing the threats.
  • The survivor demanded one Black Iron Tier Energy Core as a lifesaving fee, and Lu Heng paid him.
  • Lu Heng asked whether other survivors shared the man’s outlook, then left the pit and vanished into the reeds as the Green Demons drew closer.

Ch. 400Control

Lu Heng used the Blood Taisui’s matured parasitic power to take control of the Green Demons converging on the Withered Reed Plain. With a puppet legion at his command, he advanced toward the plain’s unknown interior.

  • Lu Heng spread the Blood Taisui’s fungal filaments across the clearing as Green Demon reinforcements approached.
  • The filaments parasitized a group of Black Iron Tier Green Demons, replacing their wills and placing them under Lu Heng’s control.
  • Three squads of Bronze Elite Green Demons entered the fungal field and were also subdued despite briefly resisting.
  • Lu Heng controlled wave after wave of arriving Green Demons until dozens of Black Iron fighters and more than ten Bronze Elites formed a puppet legion.
  • Lu Heng ordered the legion toward the heart of the Withered Reed Plain and followed behind it.
