Background / History

Origin and Seclusion

When the Asura God slew the Dragon God, the Dragon God split into the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King. Gu Yuena escaped into the mortal world through her spatial power, while the Golden Dragon King was imprisoned in the Divine Realm. She inherited the Dragon God’s Creation Godhead and concealed herself in the Star Dou Great Forest to recover 77 223.

The disappearance of the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s energy awakened her beneath the Lake of Life. She initially declined to leave seclusion over his loss, but Bi Ji’s subsequent disappearance prompted her to intervene. Lin Qian’s actions brought her out of seclusion twenty thousand years earlier than she otherwise would have emerged 10 77 86.

Following Lin Qian

Gu Yuena confronted Lin Qian over the Soul Beasts he had taken, including Tian Meng and Bi Ji. Their first encounters were openly hostile: she immobilized him through spatial compression, knocked Liu Erlong unconscious, and struck Lin Qian when he provoked her. His possession of Tian Meng’s and Bi Ji’s abilities also gave her a reason to seek his help 85 86.

After reaching an understanding, she enrolled at Heaven Dou Royal Academy as the younger sister of his alias, Li Si. She used this identity to remain close to him and immediately antagonized Qian Renxue by exposing her disguise and recognizing the Angel God’s presence 87.

She later helped contain the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger with Space Lock, though she deliberately left the fighting to Lin Qian. Recognizing his Asura Blood Sword nearly drove her to kill him, but memories of their time together stayed her hand. After the battle, she compelled the tiger to sacrifice itself 92 93 94.

Lin Qian subsequently treated her injuries with his Life Domain at Vast Sea City. She remained on the beach recuperating and waiting for him for three years. Their reunion ended with further teasing, an angry confrontation, and Lin Qian fleeing from her 95 116.

Tournament and Romance

During the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, Gu Yuena confessed that she loved Lin Qian. Their responsibilities to Soul Beasts and humans remained an obstacle, but they began a romantic relationship. She also transferred Dragon King Bloodline power to him through their mingled blood, enabling his Blood Essence Soul Rings 159 160 161.

Despite resuming her aloof manner afterward, she coordinated closely with him in matches. She received an earldom from Emperor Xue Ye and defeated Blazing Fire Academy’s first six contestants without visible fatigue 164 177 181.

When Lin Qian collapsed from exhaustion, she guarded his tent and refused entry even to Ning Fengzhi and Qian Renxue. Later, she declined to participate in Tang San’s improvised team fusion skill against Skywater Academy 184 197.

Separation and Reconciliation

At the Papal Palace, Gu Yuena announced Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s concession and demanded to see Lin Qian. Their private discussion became a battle in which she challenged both his strength and his ability to break the Divine Realm’s shackles. When his Asura attack recalled the Dragon God’s death, she asked whether he would cut her down as well. He stopped, and she escaped in her silver dragon form 203 204 206.

Back in the forest, she explained that she could not abandon the Soul Beasts or her loyal subordinates. Lin Qian eventually forced another meeting by defeating Di Tian. Gu Yuena pierced his chest with the Silver Dragon Spear, but he lowered his defenses and embraced her anyway. She then healed him and admitted that he was the only man she had ever loved, while maintaining her intention to oppose the Divine Realm 209 217 218.

Gu Yuena arranged for him to obtain the Dragon God Core, intending the task to be straightforward. The Golden Dragon King’s interference instead made it a deadly trial, prompting her to confront him. After Lin Qian recovered the core, he reunited with her at the Lake of Life, promised not to oppose her cause, and gave her the Gold of Life to treat her remaining injuries 226 227 239.

Divine Conflict and the Dragon God’s Legacy

Qian Renxue later entered the Star Dou Great Forest and demanded Gu Yuena’s submission. Gu Yuena refused, and their confrontation escalated into a divine duel. She repeatedly countered the Angel God’s attacks and strengthened her Space Lock Domain to prevent the battle from destroying more of the forest 399 400 401 402 403.

Despite their rivalry, Gu Yuena later intervened against Poseidon as Lin Qian’s contingency to protect Qian Renxue. At Jialing Pass, she fought Poseidon and Tang San together, initially overwhelming them before losing ground. Qian Renxue returned the favor by rescuing her 411 412.

Gu Yuena brought Lin Qian into the Dragon Clan’s Tomb and introduced him to the Dragon God’s Remnant Soul as her chosen successor and the father of her child. She later supplied Essence Blood to combine the Golden and Silver Dragon King bloodlines; Lin Qian used Immortal Arts so that she would retain her own Silver Dragon King Bloodline 416 417.

After the Soul Beasts were freed from oppression, Gu Yuena led their migration into the new divine domain. She devoted herself to caring for Lin Xuanyu, while Wang Qiu’er assumed responsibility for administering the Divine Dragon Realm 420.

Her long tenure as Soul Beast Co-Ruler leaves her distant from ordinary human concerns and initially inexperienced in romance. She is also strategically minded, reflecting her inheritance of the Dragon God’s Creation Godhead 116 203 223.

She is stubborn and keeps an exact account of perceived slights. During her confrontation with Lin Qian, she explicitly recalls waiting on a sofa, his threatening glare, three years of abandonment, and his teasing as grievances to repay. Her competitive nature extends to her rivalry with Qian Renxue, whose demand for submission she refuses outright 90 204 399.

Her affection for Lin Qian softens—but does not erase—her hostility toward humans. She restrains herself from attacking Ning Rongrong out of consideration for him, protects him when he is unconscious, and quietly prioritizes him during their cooperation.
