Among the dozens of Griffin riders were Griffin Legion Commander Bobby Aski and Great Swordmaster Gabriel. Against such a powerful force, the little Black Dragon Gilbert would simply be courting death if he confronted them head-on.
Urged on by Han Shuo, Gilbert showed good sense. Without a word of nonsense, he charged out through the breach blasted in the wall. In Gabriel's direction, the Archers and Spearmen who had regained their footing suddenly unleashed a volley. Arrows filled the air and spears hurtled toward Gilbert.
Han Shuo and his companions had already prepared themselves. Emily unleashed her dark magic, forming an oval, grayish-brown Magic Shield in the air. Han Shuo also chanted the spell for Dark Mist, shrouding a large area around them in darkness. Then Candice, Phoebe, and Caspian each used their own moves to cut down the arrows that pierced through.
Han Shuo had already suffered some injuries in his earlier exchange with Gabriel. Fortunately, besides his Demonic Cultivation Art, he could also use Necromancy. As he chanted a spell, several Zombie Warriors, two Abominations, and dozens of Skeleton Warriors suddenly appeared on the ground, firmly blocking the breach Gilbert had blasted through the wall.
These summoned Dark Creatures served as meat shields, plugging the breach so that many of the attacks could only land on them. With Emily's Magic Shield, Han Shuo's Dark Mist, and the assistance of Phoebe, Candice, and Caspian, Gilbert's massive body ultimately suffered no damage at all.
The Dark Creatures Han Shuo had summoned were bristling with arrows and spears. When the Griffin Legion soldiers approached, Han Shuo once again chanted the Corpse Explosion Technique he had only recently learned. Scraps of flesh flew from the two Abomination Warriors, catching the dozen or so nearby soldiers off guard. All of them were hit
