Of the three longswords that had nearly pierced Han Shuo, one broke away to deal with his Little Skeleton, while another changed course midway to block a crossbow bolt he had fired. Only one remained thrusting toward him.
Han Shuo pushed with both arms holding Phoebe, sending her rolling toward Fubin'en. Tightening his right hand around his dagger, he lunged out from the shattered round table. Demonic essence flowed into the dagger, tracing a pale purple streak through the air as he struck at the incoming longsword.
Metal clashed with a clang. Han Shuo gave a muffled grunt, his dagger hand going numb and sore again. His forward momentum stopped, and he involuntarily fell back beneath the table. The assassin's body also shuddered before he dropped from the air onto the broken table.
He had originally held his sword in his right hand, but the collision seemed to have chilled it with the cold of the Mystic Ice Demon Flame Art on Han Shuo's dagger. Suddenly switching the longsword to his left hand, he swept an icy gaze over Han Shuo and thrust again. While Han Shuo was still off balance, a ferocious surge of battle aura charged through his chest and into his body.
Bone-deep pain instantly spread throughout Han Shuo's entire body. As the dark teal battle aura poured into his chest, his demonic essence circulated madly, transforming into thousands upon thousands of fine threads that tightly bound the mass of battle aura, preventing it from spreading elsewhere.
Even so, Han Shuo spat out a mouthful of blood, lost his footing, and suddenly fell. The assassin seemed absolutely confident in his battle aura-infused strike. Once he saw that Han Shuo had been hit, he did not spare him another glance, turning his back to attack Phoebe and Fubin'en
