Berglas Fortress, the Han Family.
Han Shuo had not been away long. When he returned, nothing had changed at Berglas Fortress; everything remained as before. It was Han Shuo himself who had changed. He had left alone, but returned with the alluring Spider Goddess Lolth at his side.
Lolth did not much like interacting with others. She followed silently behind Han Shuo, showing not the slightest interest in any of the scenery or people around Berglas Fortress. She remained wordless, as silent as stone.
Candida and the others were busy working on Berglas Fortress. They had experience managing a city, and now that authority rested in their hands, they were all enthusiastic. Using the energy crystals Han Shuo had provided, they equipped the Energy Towers and Barrier Towers above the gates, strengthening the fortress's overall defenses.
After spending a little time at the Han Family residence, Han Shuo saw that everything was on track and did not linger. Taking Lolth with him, he headed back toward the valley where the Fifth Division's Divine Guards were training.
Inside the valley, the Eight Desolations Separation and Reunion Purgatory Formation operated under the Cauldron Spirit's control. Sinister winds gusted, baleful energy soared into the sky, and multicolored rays intertwined within the formation. Piercing howls rang out from inside. Under the Cauldron Spirit's harsh drilling, the Divine Guards had not enjoyed a moment of relaxation.
Outside the Eight Desolations Separation and Reunion Purgatory Formation, a dozen or so Divine Guards sat cross-legged in silence. Each wore a focused expression, strange light occasionally flashing over their bodies. Their Divine Domains did not interfere with one another.
With a single glance, Han Shuo knew that these Divine Guards had undergone brutal trials within the Eight Desolations Separation and Reunion Purgatory Formation. Their mental resolve had improved
