Ye Feng immediately opened the "Chakra Cultivation Technique." Fortunately, his parents had taught him to read before they died, so he recognized all the writing on the scroll.
Chakra was converted from the physical stamina of humans or animals. Physical and mental energy were converted to form chakra-that was the process of producing it. It sounded quite simple, but actually controlling it was not so easy. Precise control over chakra was very important. If only 30% was needed but 45% was produced, that amounted to indirectly wasting stamina. A powerful mind was needed to control mental and physical energy.
Fortunately, because Ye Feng had transmigrated, his mind was somewhat stronger than those of most people his age, making learning and mental control relatively easy. Before long, he could easily control his mental and physical energy. Ye Feng suddenly felt like a genius, someone chosen by destiny.
But a little while later, he no longer thought so. Although Ye Feng had a strong mind, he had extremely little physical energy, and the amount of chakra he could refine was also very small. After an entire night, he had refined only a tiny bit of chakra, the kind that felt as though it might naturally run out at any moment.
Am I cultivating incorrectly? I clearly followed the method on the scroll. Could there be something wrong with the scroll?
Just as Ye Feng was puzzling over this, a sudden rumbling sounded from his stomach. Looking at the sun outside, which had already risen overhead, he finally realized that he had gone a whole day without eating.
He looked around the empty room. Fortunately, there were still some coins he had found around the room and tossed aside. Though there was not much, it was enough to cover his food and drink for the month. This was a good chance to try the renowned Ichiraku Ramen.
But after making a circuit around Konoha, he still could not find Ichiraku Ramen. Suddenly, he smacked his forehead in frustration and thought:
I'm such an idiot. At this point in time, Ichiraku Ramen probably doesn't exist yet. Who knows where Teuchi is still learning to cook?
Ye Feng could only find a restaurant that was doing good business. Quite a few people were already seated inside. He found an empty seat and casually ordered some udon noodles and a few snacks.
The restaurant's decorations and layout looked very much like Ichiraku Ramen in the anime, but it did have considerably more seating. Ye Feng thought the food here ought to taste pretty good.
While Ye Feng was still looking around, he suddenly sensed someone sitting in the empty seat beside him and instinctively turned to look. The most striking thing he saw was a head of blond hair, though he did not get a clear look at the face. From his brief glance, it seemed to be a young man.
Perhaps noticing Ye Feng's gaze, the blond young man turned to look at him and gave him a sunny, handsome, gentle smile, instantly making Ye Feng feel a trace of closeness toward him.
Ye Feng looked at him. Blond hair! Around thirteen or fourteen years old! A sunny, handsome, gentle smile! Taking the current point in time into account, Ye Feng suddenly remembered someone and thought:
Isn't this Minato Namikaze, the guy I absolutely love?! Ye Feng's eyes widened. As the thought crossed his mind, his mouth did not stay still either, and he instinctively exclaimed:
"You're Minato Namikaze!"
"You know me?" Minato Namikaze was also somewhat puzzled as to how Ye Feng knew him.
Ye Feng also realized he had lost his composure a little, so he looked at him with admiration and said:
"I've heard of you. They say you're a genius, and you're helpful and gentle..."
In short, Ye Feng said a whole lot. His praise left Minato Namikaze feeling embarrassed, and he kept scratching his head, thinking:
I'm just a commoner, yet I actually have a little Uchiha fanboy.
The more Minato Namikaze looked at Ye Feng, the more he liked him, and even his tone grew much warmer.
Wasn't I just in need of someone to teach me chakra cultivation? Now someone's come right to me! Ye Feng suddenly remembered his difficulty and hurriedly took this opportunity to ask Minato Namikaze:
"Could I ask you some questions about cultivation?"
"Of course, anytime. I'll take you to the Training Ground once we're done eating," Minato Namikaze answered generously.
Done! And so, Minato Namikaze and Ye Feng finished lunch in this cheerful atmosphere, and Ye Feng followed Minato Namikaze to the Training Ground.
Once they arrived at the Training Ground.
Minato Namikaze said, "You're still so young that you probably can't learn ninjutsu yet. Is it a problem with chakra cultivation?"
"Yes. I just started learning to refine chakra, but I can only refine a very small amount, so I wanted to see whether my cultivation method was wrong. This is the scroll I've been using. Could you help me see what the problem is?"
As Ye Feng spoke, he handed the "Chakra Cultivation Technique" to Minato Namikaze.
Minato Namikaze took the scroll, opened it, and looked it over. His brows furrowed slightly before he said:
"Refine some chakra now. I'll watch your refining process."
Hearing this, Ye Feng sat down and began refining chakra. Minato Namikaze placed a hand on Ye Feng's shoulder, and Ye Feng felt a warm flow of chakra coming from his hand.
A quarter of an hour quickly passed. Minato Namikaze removed his hand and said with a somewhat troubled expression:
"There's nothing wrong with the cultivation method on the scroll. It's just... there's something wrong with your body. It seems rather frail, which means you're not very suited to becoming a ninja."
