"Beep. The floor the host is about to enter is the Desert Floor. It contains a small amount of food and is of low value."

[Ding-dong! The elevator is ascending. Please hold on tight.]

However, Lin Feng never woke up. He slept straight through until ten the next morning.

If the baby Velociraptor hadn't hatched and kept nudging him, Lin Feng probably wouldn't have woken up even by noon.

"What the hell?"

Lin Feng groggily opened his eyes and immediately felt a stabbing pain in the back of his head.

But none of that mattered. Right now, he wanted to know what was nudging his feet.

"Rawr!"

The baby Velociraptor bumped against Lin Feng's feet, letting out little roars.

"Holy shit! You hatched already!"

Not even bothering to check whether he had recovered, Lin Feng scooped up the little Velociraptor and examined it closely from every angle.

The Velociraptor showed no aggression when Lin Feng picked it up. Clearly, it had taken him for its mother.

Some eggshell fragments remained on the floor. It looked as though quite a lot had already been eaten.

Did it hatch last night?

Lin Feng stroked the Velociraptor's head as he wondered.

"Yaah~"

"Are you hungry?"

Lin Feng took the carcass of some unknown dinosaur out of his backpack, then cut off a piece of meat with his knife and tossed it in front of the little Velociraptor.

"Roar!"

The little Velociraptor ate the meat in just a few bites. Interested, Lin Feng cut off another large chunk and tossed it over.

This time, the little Velociraptor caught the meat like a dog, then began munching away.

After finishing, it even licked up every drop of blood that had dripped onto the floor.

After eating roughly two kilograms of meat, the little Velociraptor was finally full.

"Damn, you little thing. You're a real glutton."

"Awoo~"

Watching the lively little Velociraptor, Lin Feng suddenly felt an enormous weight on his shoulders. If it could eat this much when it was so small, what would happen when it grew up?

Would he even be able to afford to feed it in the future?

Seeing the Velociraptor drinking beside the infinite pool, Lin Feng grabbed it and hauled it up.

I'll have to get it a drinking trough. Damn thing's got half its body in the pool.

"Yaah?"

The little Velociraptor was utterly bewildered when its "mother" picked it up in his "jaws."

"No drinking here from now on, understand?"

"Awoo~~"

Fine, it probably doesn't understand.

After putting the Velociraptor down, Lin Feng looked down and realized that the little creature hadn't been drinking at all. It had been eating the fish in the water!

Was this the little surprise?

Lin Feng was delighted to see the large fish swimming leisurely through the water.

There were three large carp, each looking to weigh at least a kilo and a half. Lin Feng remembered very clearly.

There hadn't been any fish in the pool yesterday.

"Did the fever fry my brain?"

Lin Feng felt his forehead. It wasn't hot anymore.

Thanks to yesterday's antibiotics, along with his constitution, he had recovered completely overnight.

Only after scooping a fish out of the pool did Lin Feng become certain that it was real and not a hallucination.

Didn't this mean he'd never fucking run short of food or water again?

"Beep. The floor the host is about to enter is the Wasteland Floor. It contains 20 Zombies. Please act within your abilities. There is a Supply Crate at the center of the floor containing 5 cans of beef, 5 bottles of clean water, three packs of instant rice, and one bottle of antibiotics (50 pills)."

"Beep. Choice mission triggered. Host, please make your choice."

"Option one: enter the floor and kill 20 Zombies. Reward: Super Electromagnetic Stove (requires no energy of any kind) (pot included)."

"Option two: do not enter the floor. Wait in the elevator for the next floor. Reward: one MP-133 Shotgun and 30 rounds of 12×70 mm ammunition."

"I choose option one!"

Lin Feng chose option one not only because its reward would be very useful to him, but also because the Supply Crate on the floor would be extremely useful.

Especially that bottle of antibiotics. Without yesterday's dose, he had no idea how long he would have been bedridden.

Besides, this crate contained a lot of supplies, from canned food to rice, and even fifty antibiotic pills.

It was an absolute bounty.

So, regardless of the reason, Lin Feng had to visit this floor.

He now had two guns. Wouldn't dealing with twenty Zombies be a piece of cake?

Lin Feng checked the ammunition in his pistol and shotgun, then quietly waited for the elevator's announcement.

Noticing how serious its mom had become, the little Velociraptor sat beside him with an equally serious expression.

Lin Feng stroked the little dinosaur's head and chuckled. Other people petted dogs and cats, but he was petting a dinosaur. Who else could say that?

[Ding-dong! The elevator is descending. Please hold on tight!]

The familiar feeling of weightlessness came again. By now, Lin Feng had completely gotten used to it.

Soon, he arrived at the floor.

Lin Feng pressed the door-open button and raised his shotgun.

This Zombie floor had no other compartments. It was simply one large floor that looked like a shopping mall, but everything inside was gone. Perhaps the survivors in this world had picked it clean.

Not even a single item of clothing remained on the clothing displays, leaving Lin Feng unable to find anything to change into.

"Roar..."

"Get back inside!"

Seeing the Velociraptor follow him out, Lin Feng hurriedly picked it up and carried it back into the elevator. How could something so tiny fight? Besides, wouldn't it be a huge loss if it got infected with the Zombie virus?

"Stay here. Don't come out."

Lin Feng looked at the little dinosaur, and the little dinosaur looked at him.

"Understand?"

"Roar, roar~"

"All right, I'll take that as a yes."

Lin Feng picked up his shotgun again and walked out.

"Strange. Where are the Zombies?"

The moment Lin Feng finished speaking, he heard pounding on a door.

"ROAR!!!!!"

A swarm of Zombies burst through the mall's glass doors and charged madly at Lin Feng.

After firing twice and dropping several Zombies, Lin Feng hurriedly began retreating.

"Fuck, why are these Zombies so fast?!"

Lin Feng turned and fired a few more shots, then ran straight into the elevator, planning to exploit the bug to clear out the Zombies.

He had underestimated these Zombies. Even with guns, facing more than twenty of them alone was still somewhat difficult.

"Die!"

Lin Feng fired shot after shot. To kill them with a single shot each, he aimed almost exclusively for their heads.

That was the good thing about a shotgun: plenty of power, no need to aim.
