Background / History

Origin and Hatching

Lin Feng obtains the Velociraptor’s egg from a nest fifty meters from the elevator on the Jurassic World floor. During the raid, he kills two baby dinosaurs and shoots their pursuing parent in the hind legs. After he escapes, a Pteranodon carries away the wounded parent. The stolen egg is the remaining offspring from that nest 8.

The egg hatches inside the elevator. Lin Feng discovers the hatchling when it repeatedly nudges his feet to wake him. It allows him to pick it up without aggression and treats him as its mother, matching the system’s prediction that the dinosaur would recognize him as its master 8 14.

Early Life in the Elevator

Lin Feng initially keeps the hatchling away from dangerous enemies. On the shopping-mall Wasteland Floor, he carries it back into the elevator because it is too small to fight and might contract the Zombie virus 14.

The Velociraptor soon begins accompanying him on less restrictive outings, displaying aggression toward savages and exploring the desert while he butchers goats. During the sudden temperature drop, Lin Feng warms the shivering dinosaur by holding it beneath his blanket 15 18 19.

First Major Battles

After the beginner period ends, Lin Feng brings the growing Velociraptor into a factory occupied by Zombie Dogs. It fights and tears apart Dog King, then saves Lin Feng by biting through the neck of a dog attempting to ambush him. Although wounded and infected, it returns to normal immediately after Lin Feng administers Immune Serum recovered from Dog King’s corpse 23 24.

On the Treasure Chest Floor, it pins down a Brainless Knight and holds off two Orcs while Lin Feng fights the other monsters. Lin Feng shoots one Orc threatening it; the Velociraptor bites the remaining Orc to death and receives smoked mutton jerky as a reward 35.

Later Expeditions

The Velociraptor remains in the elevator during the luxury cruise ship heist and Normandy mission. During the heist, it tries unsuccessfully to open the doors by pawing at the buttons. When Lin Feng returns from Normandy, it eagerly approaches him and has grown to half his height 36 41 43.

In the Tyrant’s sewer, it refuses an initial instruction to wait by the elevator. When the monster appears, it prepares to fight but obeys Lin Feng’s urgent order to retreat 47 48.

On the Grassland Floor, it follows a plan to conceal itself near a cattle herd. It first kills a stalking lion without disturbing the herd, then catches an injured bison after Lin Feng opens fire. The hunt supplies meat for both of them 49 50.

Appearance

• Rapid growth: Progresses from a small hatchling to thigh-high, then half Lin Feng’s height 14 19 43.
• Sharp teeth and powerful jaws: Bites through a Zombie Dog’s neck and ruptures a lion’s windpipe 24 49.
• Foreclaws: Uses them to paw at elevator buttons, touch Lin Feng, and cover its nose against the sewer’s smell 36 43 47.
• Expressive tail: Wags its tail while eating grilled fish heads 49.

Personality

The Velociraptor is affectionate and strongly attached to Lin Feng. It accepts handling and head-stroking, sleeps near him, and frequently seeks his attention by calling or tugging at his trousers. Its attachment also drives it to follow him into danger rather than remain alone by the elevator 14 15 40 47.

It is curious and increasingly mischievous as it grows. It buries itself in desert sand, investigates unfamiliar objects, and repeatedly plunges its head into the pool to blow bubbles. Lin Feng jokingly compares it to a husky and wonders whether it has entered a rebellious phase 18 40 49.

Its aggression is selective rather than indiscriminate. It attacks Wang Lei when it mistakes him for an enemy, but accepts him after Lin Feng’s correction. Despite its ferocity against threats, it hides behind Lin Feng after seeing Wang Lei’s corpse disappear 32 33.

Close-Quarters Combat

• Pounces on enemies, pins them down, and attacks with repeated bites 35.

• Wang Lei — Initially mistaken for an enemy and killed. After Wang Lei respawns, Lin Feng introduces them properly, and the Velociraptor allows him to pet its head 32 33.
• Velociraptor parent — Parent from the Jurassic World nest. Pursues Lin Feng after he kills two offspring and steals the egg, but is wounded and carried away by a Pteranodon 8.
