Background / History

Origin and Hatching

Little Velociraptor comes from an egg stolen from a Dragon’s Nest on the Jurassic World floor. Lin Feng kills two already-hatched young dinosaurs at the nest, collects the remaining egg, and escapes after shooting their pursuing parent in the hind legs. A Pteranodon subsequently carries the injured adult away 8.

The egg hatches inside Lin Feng’s elevator. The baby wakes him by nudging his feet, accepts being picked up, and treats him as its mother. Lin Feng initially keeps it away from zombies because of its small size and the risk of infection 14.

Becoming a Combat Companion

After the beginner period ends, Lin Feng brings Little Velociraptor onto a Wasteland Floor occupied by zombie dogs. During the battle, it engages Dog King while Lin Feng handles the remaining pack, then saves him from a final ambushing dog. Its wounds leave it infected with the zombie virus, but an injection of Immune Serum recovered from Dog King restores it immediately 23 24.

On the Treasure Chest Floor, it helps fight Brainless Knights and holds off two Orcs while Lin Feng deals with splitting Slimes. Lin Feng shoots one Orc threatening it, and the dinosaur bites the remaining Orc to death. Despite taking several hits, it remains lively afterward 35.

Separation and Later Hunts

Little Velociraptor remains inside the elevator during the Luxury Cruise Ship Heist. Upon waking to find Lin Feng gone, it paws at the elevator buttons but cannot open the doors. It is also left behind during the Normandy mission, after which it enthusiastically greets Lin Feng’s return 36 41 43.

During the Tyrant hunt, it refuses an initial order to wait by the elevator and follows Lin Feng into the sewer. When the Tyrant appears, it prepares to fight despite sensing exceptional danger, then retreats when Lin Feng orders it back 47 48.

On the Grassland Floor, it joins Lin Feng in stalking a herd, kills a concealed lion, and catches an injured bison after Lin Feng opens fire. Their combined haul provides three bison for food 49 50.

Appearance

• Juvenile size: Grows from a baby Lin Feng can scoop up to thigh height, then half his height 14 19 43.
• Sharp teeth and powerful jaws: Can bite through a zombie dog’s neck and rupture a lion’s windpipe 24 49.
• Clawed forelimbs: Uses its claws to paw at elevator controls and at Lin Feng; also covers its nose with a foreclaw in the foul-smelling sewer 36 43 47.
• Expressive tail: Wags its tail while eating the grilled fish heads Lin Feng gives it 49.

Personality

Little Velociraptor is affectionate toward Lin Feng and frequently seeks food or attention by nudging him, tugging his trouser leg, and calling out. Its attachment also appears during separations: it tries to open the elevator after he leaves for the cruise-ship heist and rushes over to paw at him when he returns from Normandy 14 15 36 43.

Its curiosity becomes increasingly mischievous as it grows. On its first desert visit, it runs around until it buries itself in sand. Later, it investigates a forbidden foam box and repeatedly plunges its head into the pool to blow bubbles. Lin Feng jokingly wonders whether it has entered a rebellious phase 18 49.

Although generally responsive to instructions, it is not unquestioningly obedient. It leaves the goats alone when told and waits for permission before eating certain prey, yet refuses to stay behind during the sewer expedition. Against the Tyrant, it nevertheless follows Lin Feng’s urgent retreat order 17 22 32 47 48.

Close-Quarters Combat

Its principal weapons are its bite and its ability to pounce on opponents 24 35.

• Pins a Brainless Knight to the ground and bites it repeatedly 35.
• Tears Dog King into several pieces and bites through another zombie dog’s neck 24.

• Limits: Can be wounded in melee, is susceptible to the zombie virus, and struggles when holding off multiple Orcs 24 35.

Stealth and Hunting

Little Velociraptor can crouch in grass and approach prey under cover 49.

• Follows Lin Feng’s plan to wait for gunfire before attacking the herd 49 50.
• Ambushes a lion focused on the cattle, killing it without disturbing the herd 49 50.
• Catches an injured bison as the herd scatters 50.
• Catches and eats fish from the Infinite Water Pool 14 40.

Awareness and Learning

It reacts to potential threats and shows increasing understanding of Lin Feng’s speech 15 32.

• Notices movement near quiet bushes before Wang Lei emerges 32.
• Stops treating Wang Lei as hostile after Lin Feng instructs it not to attack him 32 33.
• Places raw meat on the induction cooker to request cooked food, then tests the hot steak with its tongue before eating 17.
• Lin Feng attributes its apparent language comprehension to hearing him speak since hatching; this remains his explanation rather than a confirmed mechanism 32.

Diet & Care

• Large appetite: Eats roughly two kilograms of meat just after hatching. Later, two large grilled fish heads still require roughly another five pounds of raw meat to complete its meal 14 49.
• Varied food: Eats dinosaur meat, goat organs, fish, water snake, turtles, frozen bread, Purple Fruit, cooked lamb, chicken, and bison meat and organs 14 18 21 22 29 36 40 50.
• Unconfirmed omnivory: Its enjoyment of Purple Fruit makes Lin Feng question whether it is an omnivore 21.
• Turtle-shell difficulty: Nearly damages its teeth trying to bite through whole turtles; Lin Feng must open them with his machete. It later carries a shell away to gnaw on 29.
• Feeding restrictions: Lin Feng initially refuses to feed it human corpses, though he later explicitly permits it to eat slain savages 22 32.
• Cold protection: Shivers during the temperature collapse and is gathered into Lin Feng’s arms for warmth. A later elevator upgrade supplies a fireplace 19 29.
• Elevator safety: Lin Feng registers its face on the poison needle trap’s friendly list so it will not be treated as an intruder 35.
• Bathroom habits: Normally relieves itself on floors outside the elevator. Lin Feng explains that it must not do so wherever it pleases after the cruise-ship mission interrupts its usual outing 40 48.

Relationships

• Lin Feng — Owner and parental figure. Little Velociraptor treats him as its mother from hatching; he feeds, shelters, and protects it, while it becomes a companion capable of saving his life 14 19 24.
• Wang Lei — Initially mistaken for an enemy and killed immediately when he leaps from the bushes. After Wang Lei respawns and Lin Feng corrects the misunderstanding, Little Velociraptor allows him to pet its head. It remains curious about his disappearing corpse and ability to return to life 32 33.
