Writing a Diary in Douluo, and All the Heroines Fell for Me
Author: Dimple Bear
Synopsis:
Xiong Shaoqing transmigrated bodily to the Douluo Continent and bound himself to the [Destiny Diary]. As long as he kept writing in it, he could receive cultivation boosts of up to tenfold and god-tier prize draws.
The catch was that copies of his diary would actually be distributed simultaneously to certain goddesses on the Douluo Continent.
As a weakling with only level-five innate Soul Power, Xiong Shaoqing decided to take the opposite approach so he would not be treated as a heretic and dissected for research.
Pretending he did not know the goddesses were peeking, he wildly fabricated a persona for himself in his diary: a "tragic God King who died fighting to save the continent, then reversed time and space to live another life."
And so, his diary took on this style:
[Xiao Wu, in my previous life, I failed to stop Tang San from treating you as a Soul Ring he kept in captivity. In this life, even with my divine seat shattered and all my divine power lost, I will keep you safe.]
[Zhu Zhuqing, that coward Dai Mubai abandoned you. For you, I would think nothing of leveling the Star Luo Empire with a single stroke of my sword.]
[Dong'er, failing to stop you from falling into the Rakshasa God's abyss in my previous life is my greatest regret in this one...]
After reading the diary, the heroines of the Douluo Continent let their imaginations run completely wild, all of them reading far too much into everything.
Looking at the goddesses around him, who frantically sought to protect him while showering him with emotional points and cultivation feedback, Xiong Shaoqing silently sighed inwardly. "I'm really just making up stories. Why did you all take them seriously?"
Chapter 1: What Decent Person Keeps a Diary?
Nuoding City, Fasinuo Province.
In a secluded private courtyard in the western part of the city, Xiong Shaoqing sat cross-legged on a wooden couch. Looking at the plain, dark-gold notebook that had appeared out of thin air in his hand, he helplessly pressed a hand to his forehead.
His cheat had arrived, but what was this supposed to mean?
What decent person kept a diary?
As a transmigrator, Xiong Shaoqing had naturally been looking forward to his cheat for a long time.
He had been hoping for some invincible system that would let him pummel Spirit Hall and trample Sea God Mountain, then rise to the pinnacle of life.
But the few archaic-looking words on this notebook rather shattered his fantasies.
[Destiny Diary (Sole bound user: Xiong Shaoqing)]
As its name suggested, it was something that made him keep a diary.
Sure enough, he had transmigrated for nothing. His cheat was not some supreme treasure of primordial chaos, but a diary.
Was this Heaven's punishment for the dozens of gigabytes of anime goddess wallpapers he had stored on his computer in his previous life?
Xiong Shaoqing could not help grumbling inwardly.
As a modern man who had transmigrated directly, body and all, he should have been an unregistered outsider unable to take a single step when he first arrived amid the Douluo Continent's bitter winter.
Fortunately, the system had shown some decency. Not only had it used its mighty power to arrange a plausible identity for him as the orphaned heir of a fallen minor noble family in Nuoding City, allowing him to blend perfectly into this world, it had also awakened his Martial Soul along the way.
However, although his Martial Soul was a decent power attack system one, his innate Soul Power was only level five.
That talent might have qualified him as a minor genius among ordinary commoners, but compared with those monsters in the Shrek Seven Devils, he was not even fit to carry their shoes.
Since he was already here, he might as well take a look.
Xiong Shaoqing opened the diary, and lines of dark-gold text slowly emerged on the flyleaf. They were the diary's rules.
[1: When the host writes the first word in the diary, the diary will be activated by default. Once hidden conditions are met, diary copies will be distributed to specific female figures favored by fortune on the Douluo Continent. (Current diary copy recipient list: Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, Zhu Zhuqing, Xiao Wu)]
Xiong Shaoqing raised his eyebrows slightly.
It would even give copies to other people? Could this still be called a private diary? Whose cheat was this, anyway?
[2: Daily updates are required (records of cultivation insights or everyday life are both acceptable). Upon meeting the requirement, the host may receive cultivation boost feedback of up to tenfold (including Soul Power circulation, physical tempering, and mental power improvement).]
Good stuff.
Xiong Shaoqing's eyes lit up.
A tenfold cultivation boost meant that even with ordinary aptitude, he could cultivate faster than someone with innate full Soul Power.
As long as he lay low and developed, becoming a Titled Douluo would be no dream.
[3: Maintaining a qualifying diary update streak grants prize draw opportunities. Every seven days grants a yellow-tier draw, a full month grants a mystic-tier draw, and a full year grants a heaven-tier draw. The prize pool includes, but is not limited to: Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings, External Soul Bones, god-tier cultivation methods, and supreme-grade immortal herbs.]
He could even draw god-tier cultivation methods and Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings?
Xiong Shaoqing understood. Later on, this cheat would become a walking treasure vault. He absolutely had to write this diary.
[4: Upon activating the diary, the host will receive the Dragon God's Relic Realm (a damaged independent space, undetectable to anyone below godhood and impossible for anyone below God King to forcibly break open). The host may retreat into it at any time and will be absolutely safe.]
The Dragon God's Relic Realm-as long as no gods intervened, he would be in an invincible position.
Xiong Shaoqing let out a long breath.
His greatest worry was that he was too weak right now. Any random Soul King or Soul Emperor could crush him to death. With this absolutely safe haven, he finally had the confidence to plan his moves in this world.
Still, this had its own hidden danger. He could only retreat inside. If the other party kept waiting in the same spot...
He could hardly stay inside for the rest of his life.
But now was not the time to think about that.
Xiong Shaoqing gathered his thoughts and continued reading.
[Note: The host may decide the diary's contents independently. People and places may not be fabricated out of nothing. (Note: The host may record the future and the past.)]
Upon seeing this note, Xiong Shaoqing leaned against the wall and sank into thought.
Copies of this diary would be distributed to specific women. The current list included Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, Zhu Zhuqing, and Xiao Wu.
If he wrote "I'm a transmigrator, and I know the plot" in the diary like an idiot, those exceptionally shrewd women would definitely treat him as a monster or a heretic. He might even provoke Spirit Hall into hunting him down.
He had not lived long enough yet.
If he could not tell the truth, couldn't he make things up?
As long as it was logical, this diary would be the ultimate brainwashing tool.
Besides, the rules only said he could not fabricate people and places out of nothing. They never said he could not fabricate anything else.
That made things easy.
As a veteran bookworm in his previous life, devising plots was what Xiong Shaoqing did best.
He soon had an idea.
Wasn't Tang San the son of fortune? Hadn't Tang San become a God King in the end?
Fine, then. He would establish a persona for himself in the diary: a great being from the future who had once ascended to the rank of Supreme God King and had even died fighting to save the Douluo Continent before being reborn.
In this "previous life," Tang San would be a hypocrite who stole the continent's fortune and stopped at nothing to become a god.
And those goddesses who possessed copies would all be his beloveds whom he, Xiong Shaoqing, would save at any cost to make up for the regrets of his "previous life."
People admired strength, and they were curious, too. As long as he made his story grand and tragically beautiful enough, he would not have to worry about them failing to fill in the blanks themselves.
Since the system had shoved the list right in his face, failing to shear this flock would be doing his cheat a disservice.
Still, to pose as a deeply devoted, reborn God King in his diary, he would have to strike just the right balance with his writing.
To grow stronger and flourish in this world, he could only hold his nose and write some angsty youth fiction. Hopefully, he would not be the first to throw up after finishing it.
Xiong Shaoqing drew a deep breath, forced down his embarrassment, and began his award-winning performance in writing.
[I've actually been reborn.]
[As my consciousness gathered once more in the darkness, the jumbled, fragmented memories in my mind filled me with both familiarity and a shuddering dread.]
[I tried to sense the supreme divine power within me that could destroy the stars, only to find nothing at all. My divine seat has shattered, and nine-tenths of my divine soul is gone.]
[But none of this is a dream. The despair when the Abyss Plane collapsed, the sight of them lying in pools of blood-it was all so real that even now, every breath stabs with pain.]
As Xiong Shaoqing wrote, imperceptible ripples stirred through space in several hidden places across the Douluo Continent.
Spirit City, the Supreme Pontiff's Hall.
Bibi Dong, who had been resting with her eyes closed, abruptly opened them, a terrifying gleam shooting from her phoenix eyes.
A book exuding an ancient presence had floated into view before her desk without the slightest warning.
The Heaven Dou Empire, the Crown Prince's Eastern Palace.
Disguised as Xue Qinghe, Qian Renxue gripped her folding fan until her knuckles whitened, staring fixedly at the booklet that had appeared on the table out of thin air.
The Star Luo Empire, the Zhu Family.
Zhu Zhuqing, who had been gazing forlornly at the snow drifting outside the window, recoiled half a step in alarm at the sudden glow on her dressing table.
Nuoding City, the Junior Soul Master Academy.
Xiao Wu, who had already grown into a graceful young woman and was preparing to leave the academy for Suotuo City, frowned slightly at the notebook that had appeared on her bed.
What they saw was not a "Destiny Diary," but personalized covers bearing their respective names:
"Xiong Shaoqing's Notes [Bibi Dong's Copy]"
"Xiong Shaoqing's Notes [Qian Renxue's Copy]"
"Xiong Shaoqing's Notes [Zhu Zhuqing's Copy]"
"Xiong Shaoqing's Notes [Xiao Wu's Copy]"
Chapter 2: The Stunned Women
Extremely wary, the women tried probing the strange books with their Soul Power. A force of law as vast as an abyss instantly flooded their minds, taking the form of several ironclad rules:
[Rules for copy holders]
[1: You must not reveal the existence of these notes to any outsider. Otherwise, your copy will immediately be confiscated, and all related memories will be forcibly erased.]
[2: You must not harm the owner of the original notes (Xiong Shaoqing) through any direct or indirect means. Copy holders are strictly forbidden from harming one another. Violators will suffer divine punishment and be annihilated, divine soul and all.]
[3: Reading and reflecting on the notes daily grants an infusion of the purest origin Soul Power between heaven and earth. Long-term possession offers a chance to purify your Martial Soul bloodline.]
[Note: Acceptance of this copy is entirely voluntary. If you decline, you will permanently lose this opportunity.]
Inside the Supreme Pontiff's Hall, Bibi Dong sneered. "Parlor tricks. Let me see which Peak Douluo dares run wild in Spirit Hall."
She had intended to destroy the booklet outright, but her hand stopped when she saw the third rule.
Pure origin Soul Power? Purifying her Martial Soul bloodline?
As someone with twin Martial Souls, she knew very well how painful the backlash from clashing Martial Souls could be. If this booklet truly possessed such miraculous effects...
Half doubtful, she opened the first page.
What met her eyes was that sentence:
[I've actually been reborn.]
Bibi Dong frowned slightly. A shattered divine seat, the Abyss Plane-his storytelling ability was certainly first-rate.
She continued reading with an attitude of detached skepticism, but the next few lines struck this iron-fisted Supreme Pontiff like a thunderbolt.
[Fortunately, I'm back. Back to a time before this tragedy has happened.]
[Dong'er... in my previous life, I was ultimately a step too late. I failed to stop that coward Yu Xiaogang from breaking your heart, and I failed even more to stop you from descending into the Rakshasa God's abyss to take revenge on Spirit Hall.]
[In this life, even if I must overturn all of Spirit Hall, I will protect your peace for as long as you live.]
"How dare you!" Bibi Dong crushed the solid-gold armrest with a crash, her terrifying Soul Power instantly extinguishing every candle in the hall.
She stared fixedly at the words "Yu Xiaogang" and "Rakshasa God." Her once-imposing face was now deathly pale, and her chest heaved violently.
Before you continue
