Background / History
Transmigration and the false God King
Xiong Shaoqing arrives in the Douluo Continent during winter, physically transported from the modern world. The system supplies a credible noble-family background and awakens his Martial Soul, but his innate Level 5 Soul Power leaves him dissatisfied with his prospects 1.
After activating the Destiny Diary, he invents a future incarnation in which he became a Supreme God King, died defending the continent, and returned to repair his failures toward the heroines. He deliberately casts Tang San as a hypocritical rival and the diary’s female readers as women he previously loved. This supposed divine past is a calculated fiction, not his actual history 1.
He travels to Suotuo City to intersect with the heroines’ destinies. Rather than openly seeking Xiao Wu, he arranges his behavior so that she approaches and protects him herself. His outward coldness reinforces the impression that he is suppressing love to keep her safe 2 3 5.
Writing, arena battles, and a new household
Short of money, Xiong Shaoqing adapts stories from his previous world. His Chinese Paladin manuscript impresses Boss Qian, earns him a distinguished guest elder position, and defeats Tang San’s attempt to expose him as a penniless fraud 9 17.
Alongside Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing, he enters the Soto Great Soul Arena for income and practical combat experience. Their battles escalate into repeated clashes with Tang San, Dai Mubai, and Ma Hongjun, including poisoned hidden-weapon attacks and a coordinated team confrontation 17 19 36 37.
He purchases rare plants for Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing at an auction, antagonizing the Poison Shadow Sect. After moving into the Rain-Listening Waterside Pavilion, he deliberately allows the sect’s scouts to remain active so that their elder will gather his forces and attack together 43 57 60.
Living Soul Spirits and the Spirit Hall agreement
Xiong Shaoqing exchanges system currency for the Soul Spirit Equal Contract and Spirit Pagoda blueprints. He demonstrates the method on a dying mother leopard and her cub, offering continued conscious existence as Soul Spirits rather than death through ordinary ring hunting. The cub participates in Zhu Zhuqing’s contract, while the mother becomes his fifth Living Soul Ring 66 67.
The method attracts attempts at appropriation. Yu Xiaogang demands credit and discipleship rights, while Yu Yuanzhen spreads news of the technique to draw powerful forces against Spirit Hall. Xiong Shaoqing refuses to surrender control and negotiates an agreement with Bibi Dong using his exclusive knowledge as leverage 71 82.
After his defeat and the destruction of the Rain-Listening Waterside Pavilion, he travels with Bibi Dong and his companions toward the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. He seeks Ning Fengzhi’s support or neutrality and receives martial guidance that helps him reach Level 57 82 88.
Poison cures and Slaughter City
After protecting Bai Chenxiang from Dugu Yan, Xiong Shaoqing identifies the poison backlash affecting the Dugu family. His treatment earns Dugu Bo’s gratitude, a promise of assistance, and access to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well’s medicinal garden. He subsequently contracts the Qian Jun Rock Bear and obtains a hundred-thousand-year Living Soul Ring 90 95 96.
In Slaughter City, his physical strength and Gang Qi remain effective despite restrictions on Soul Skills. Tang Chen, secretly protecting Tang San, manipulates the arena against Xiong Shaoqing and Hu Liena. Xiong Shaoqing encourages Hu Liena to confront the trials while protecting his companions from assassins and later anticipates Tang San’s attack during their escape 100 101.
Clan allegiance and imperial influence
Xiong Shaoqing protects the Speed Clan from the Black Tiger Sect and offers to pay its debt, securing Bai He and the clan’s allegiance. He then wins over Tai Tan, Niu Gao, and Yang Wudi through a combination of strength and promised resources, taking control of followers who would otherwise have supported Tang San 107 108.
He supports Qian Renxue’s political plans while accounting for possible interference from Tang San, Xue Beng, and Prince Xue Xing. In the Star Luo Empire, he has Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Dai Tianfeng confined rather than executed and helps Zhu Zhuqing consolidate military and political control 110 111 115.
Appearance
- Face: Angular features, a straight nose, swordlike brows, and deep black eyes 15 33 46.
- Build: Initially somewhat slender and sickly-looking beneath his cloak; later described with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a sharply defined torso 2 6 33 46.
- Clothing: Commonly wears black or dark xuan-coloured clothing. His early attire includes a thin, worn cloak 4 11 46 115.
- Bearing: Maintains a straight posture and a cold, world-weary expression to support his fallen-God-King persona 5 15 19.
Personality
Xiong Shaoqing is calculating, ambitious, and highly conscious of presentation. He rehearses encounters, manufactures tragic diary entries, and uses apparent rejection or self-sacrifice to deepen the heroines’ attachment. He is willing to embarrass himself privately if the performance produces cultivation rewards 3 18 23 34.
His inner commentary contrasts sharply with his public restraint. While appearing indifferent, he privately celebrates rewards, admires beautiful women, and treats hostile rivals as renewable sources of Face-Slapping Points. His desire for multiple partners is deliberate; he even uses romantic stories to encourage Xiao Wu to accept shared affection 7 8 11 71.
His attachment is not entirely an act. Xiao Wu’s injuries cause genuine concern, and his later priorities increasingly include protecting his partners, providing them a peaceful home, and repaying their trust. He also recognizes his debts to Ning Fengzhi and resolves to prevent the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s foretold tragedy 12 55 60 88 109.
Despite rapid advancement, he remains wary of stronger opponents and concealed threats. He hides his cultivation when useful, acknowledges Tang San’s poison and hidden weapons as real dangers, and rejects the assumption that an apparently secure political plan cannot fail 14 23 37 111.

Notable Quotes
“I'm really just making up stories. Why did you all take them seriously?” 1

Trivia
- His early financial plan explicitly rejects asking the heroines for money or relying on a Spirit Hall subsidy; he chooses storytelling instead 9.
- He initially conceals Level 23 cultivation as Level 21, then reveals his actual strength when protecting Zhu Zhuqing 23 24.
- His five-ring configuration is displayed as yellow, purple, purple, black, black at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. The team battle in Chapter 36 instead describes two yellow rings and one purple, an inconsistency in the supplied descriptions 36 84.
- Although Dugu Bo permits unrestricted use of his garden, Xiong Shaoqing avoids stripping it bare, reasoning that he should not “kill the hen to get its eggs” 97.
