Patrick and Medivh agreed to open a new Astral Gate as a way for the Kingdom of Stormwind to escape an uncertain future, while Medivh sought assurances about the alliance’s rights and benefits. Patrick activated the gate in Quelrins City, and images of the new world appeared as the two worlds began connecting.
Patrick and Kael'thas remembered the High Elf warriors who died in Outland and discussed the dangers still facing Azeroth and Patrick’s plans for the future. Queen Luminass reported that Alliance, Horde, and Covenant forces had gathered to join the expedition through the portal, and Patrick, Kael'thas, and Luminass went to meet them.
The Alliance and Horde offered support for the Arcane Pact’s expedition and agreed to travel through Quelrins City, while Patrick ignored their political calculations and returned to the Floating City. Vashj then told him that Her Majesty the Queen wished to see him, leaving Patrick wondering whether Azshara had come because of N'Zoth.
Azshara arrived at the Tidal Temple, where Patrick recognized that something was wrong with her despite her calm demeanor. After Elune revealed that Azshara retained her sense of self and possessed power from the Well of Eternity, Patrick demanded to hear her purpose and insisted on treating their meeting as a transaction.
Patrick questioned Azshara’s offer to place all Naga under his command in exchange for sovereign territory in the New World. Azshara revealed that she sought to escape N’Zoth’s influence, leaving Patrick to demand whether the Naga intended to remain within the Arcane Pact or break away.
Azshara met Patrick and proposed joining forces to escape N'Zoth's influence and restore the Naga as Highborne, offering a solution to the political threat her people posed to the Arcane Pact. Patrick accepted her proposal and returned to Sunlight City to prepare the Astral Gate as danger loomed near the portal to Silver Night Forest.
As Silver Night Forest held off the abyssal army, Mirana and the priests prepared to activate the Astral Gate and summon an army from another world. Luna Moonfang returned to battle, and her past as the Calamity of the Plains was revealed; the chapter ended just before the gate was activated.
Patrick infused the Astral Gate with arcane energy as the Elemental Fury debated whether to trust him and decided to meet him. Patrick then appeared over the ruins of Arak, where the story recounted how Sethe’s curse corrupted Anzu and drove Rukhmar to create the arakkoa.
Patrick confronted Sethe over the corruption spreading from his foul blood and warned Rukhmar and Anzu not to endanger Azeroth. The story then shifted to Shattrath, where Kael'thas had captured Tempest Keep and threatened the lightly defended city.
Patrick warned A'dal and the Draenei leaders that absorbing souls could expose them to conflict and Old God corruption, and urged them to find safer ways to sustain themselves. He then confronted Gruul in Draenor and told him Azeroth had to remain stable, but Gruul attacked him.
Patrick moved Gruul away from his lair and warned him about the dangers of Azeroth’s unstable elements and the Old Gods. At Karazhan, Medivh began constructing a levitation ring to raise the tower and much of Deadwind Pass into a floating city for the Alliance.
Medivh completed the levitation magic circle and raised Karazhan as a floating city, naming it Teo'korin. At the celebration, he entrusted Kael'thas with Arcanagos's remains, and Kael'thas reflected on how time had changed the people around him.
Patrick and his forces passed through the Astral Gate into the Dota World, where Mirana welcomed them as reinforcements against the Abyssal Demons. He then met C'elestine in a separate space with Elune, and C'elestine questioned whether Patrick could uphold their agreement.
Patrick challenged C'elestine’s claim to godhood, then agreed to help her meet her demands and protect Silver Night Forest. At the Astral Gate, Verlin and Higgins discussed the demons in the new world, with Verlin doubting that they would behave like the Burning Legion.
Verlin, Keli'dan, and Hui Li Sandgull questioned why the demons' fighting in this world differed from the Burning Legion's usual tactics, and Keli'dan decided to report the threat to Illidan. Meanwhile, Alliance, Horde, and other faction leaders signed non-aggression and peaceful-development agreements, leaving Kael'thas wary as Thrall welcomed him to the ceremony.
