Background / History

Bibi Dong was a disciple of the former pope, Qian Xunji. She recalls that his actions toward her in a secret chamber preceded her devouring him and beginning the Rakshasa Nine Trials. The Asura God later accuses the previous Rakshasa God of deliberately tempting her to murder her teacher and consume his flesh and soul, creating a lasting division between the Papal Hall and the angelic lineage 29 89 91.

She also had a past romantic involvement with the Douluo Continent’s Yu Xiaogang. Their relationship becomes public knowledge through the Sky Screen and attracts the hostility of Bibi Xi, whose beloved is a different man with a nearly identical name on Xuanwu Continent 28 29.

As pope, Bibi Dong spent more than twenty years managing Spirit City while concealing her Rakshasa inheritance. Her original unification strategy centered on the Soul Hunting Plan: destroy the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, deprive the two empires of major Soul Master allies, and establish a Spirit Hall Empire under her sole rule 41 97.

Appearance

  • Face and eyes: Described as strikingly beautiful, with a cold expression, fair skin, and purple eyes 5 7.
  • Papal clothing: Wears black-and-red papal robes and, in later scenes, purple-black robes; carries a papal scepter 40 41 88.
  • Divine transformation: Purple-black markings spread from her brow across her body to form Rakshasa God Armor. Eight scythe-like bone spikes unfold behind her 95.
  • Resemblance to Bibi Xi: Gui Mei estimates that Bibi Xi’s appearance and demeanor resemble hers by roughly seventy percent. Bibi Dong considers a family connection but rejects it based on her previous investigation of her relatives 29.

Personality

Bibi Dong is ambitious, calculating, and willing to sacrifice nominal allies for personal power. Rather than treating the Xuanwu invasion solely as a threat, she plans to use it to destroy the military strength of Heaven Dou, Star Luo, and the Upper Three Sects while preserving Spirit Hall’s forces. The resulting deaths and resentment would also accelerate her divine inheritance 41.

Her composure is vulnerable to humiliation. She reacts angrily when the Sky Screen exposes her private cultivation setbacks and when Xuanwu residents ridicule her understanding of Soul Ring absorption. Nevertheless, she can suppress her anger long enough to organize military preparations and diplomatic pressure 4 19 21.

Her resentment toward the Qian family shapes her use of authority. After becoming a god, she openly mocks Qian Daoliu and takes pleasure in his dependence on her restraint. When Lu Changqing proves overwhelmingly stronger, however, she abandons her confidence, attempts to flee, and offers submission in exchange for survival 95 97 101 102.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Spider Emperor Martial Souls

Bibi Dong possesses the Death Spider Emperor and Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor 29 95.

  • Credits her twin Martial Soul foundation with allowing her to risk absorbing a hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring after becoming a Titled Douluo 16.
  • Has several unfilled Soul Ring slots on her second Martial Soul when Xuanwu Continent is revealed, prompting her interest in hunting its ancient beasts 5.
  • Shares the same Martial Soul pairing as Bibi Xi, though no familial connection is established 29.

Rakshasa Power and Evil Thoughts

Her inheritance draws on accumulated malice, resentment, and evil thoughts 41 95 99.

  • Plans to nourish her final breakthrough with battlefield death Qi and the sins of slaughter 41.
  • Manifests purple-black Rakshasa Evil Fire, which she uses to burn Heaven Dou’s state letter 41.
  • Gains a divine body and god-level pressure upon inheriting the Rakshasa Godhood 95.
  • Fails to resist Lu Changqing’s pressure before ascension; even afterward, her Divine Sense cannot determine his strength 88 95.

Divine Combat Techniques

Technique Application Demonstrated Limit
Rakshasa Domain: Myriad Evils God-Devouring Storm Unleashes nine pairs of ghastly green demon scythes in a joint attack with Tang Chen 99. Lu Changqing’s divine seal grinds the blades to dust and wounds her 99.
Rakshasa True Form: Vengeful Soul Devours the Realm A final attack using malicious purple-black demonic flames after her surrender offer is rejected 102. Lu Changqing cuts through the flames and her Demon Scythe before killing her 102.

Political and Military Command

Bibi Dong directs Spirit Hall’s legions, bishops, hidden agents, and senior Titled Douluo subordinates 19 40 41.

  • Orders continent-wide battle readiness and summons Spirit Hall’s elders 19 40.
  • Uses operatives in Heaven Dou and Star Luo to pressure their imperial families into mobilizing 21 41.
  • Positions Spirit Hall as a rear-line “decisive battle” force rather than the allied vanguard 41.
  • Orders agents to monitor allied logistics, foment unrest, and burn provisions and Soul Tool reserves once the front begins to falter 41.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Papal scepter — Her symbol of office; identified as an Angel Scepter in an early scene 5 40.
  • Rakshasa Demon Scythe — Initially concealed within her divine soul and fully manifested after ascension. She claims it can destroy divine bodies and souls and corrupt Divine Cores. Lu Changqing ultimately slices it in two 41 95 99 102.
  • Rakshasa God Armor — Forms from purple-black markings during her transformation. Shattered by Lu Changqing’s counterattack 95 99.
  • Rakshasa Godhood — Forcibly bestowed by the Divine Realm; emerges covered in cracks after her death and is taken by Lu Changqing 94 95 102.

Relationships

  • Qian Xunji — Former teacher and previous pope. She devoured him before undertaking the Rakshasa Nine Trials; Lu Changqing later exposes the secret before Spirit Hall’s elders 29 89.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Douluo Continent — Former romantic partner. He reacts with horror to her Rakshasa ascension and disbelief at her death 28 98 102.
  • Qian Daoliu — Rival authority within Spirit Hall. They briefly unite against Lu Changqing, but their cooperation does not resolve her hostility toward the angelic lineage 41 88 95.
  • Qian Renxue — Spirit Hall infiltrator whose withdrawal from Heaven Dou she accepts. Their exchanges are cold and antagonistic; Bibi Dong urges her to pursue godhood instead of continuing mortal political schemes 40 41.
  • Yue Guan and Gui Mei — Trusted subordinates entrusted with mobilization, delayed reinforcements, and covert sabotage orders 19 41.
  • Bibi Xi — Hostile Xuanwu counterpart with matching Martial Souls and a similar appearance. Threatens to kill Bibi Dong and devour her Martial Soul over her past relationship with Yu Xiaogang 28 29.
  • Previous Rakshasa God — Source of her divine inheritance. Used her as a vessel for evil thoughts before being forced to transfer the entire godhood 91 92 95.
  • Asura God — Arranges her accelerated ascension and orders her to kill Lu Changqing, threatening to strip her Divine Core if she disobeys 94 95.
  • Tang Chen — Temporary divine ally against Lu Changqing. She retreats rather than answer his plea for rescue 96 99 101.
  • Lu Changqing — Enemy and eventual killer. Exposes her secrets, defeats her, rejects her surrender, and confiscates her godhood 89 99 102.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Sky Screen Revelations

The Sky Screen first exposes Bibi Dong’s private struggle with the Rakshasa trials, including an inner-demon backlash that led her to smash a Purple Jade Tea Set. Its reports then draw her attention to Xuanwu Continent’s ancient Soul Beasts, which she initially regards as potential sources of rings for her second Martial Soul 4 5.

Xuanwu’s military demonstrations overturn her expectations. She predicts that Lu Wudao cannot survive absorbing a hundred-thousand-year eighth ring, only to witness his success. As the moving continent and its powerful inhabitants become undeniable, she prepares Spirit Hall for war while intending to let Sea God Island test the invaders first 9 16 19.

Dragon-Slaying Pass Scheme

After Sea God Island falls, Bibi Dong publicly accepts Heaven Dou’s request for aid. She proposes thirty thousand elite Soul Masters stationed behind Dragon-Slaying Pass, with Heaven Dou holding the front and Star Luo guarding the flanks 40 41.

Privately, she orders a much smaller initial deployment of three thousand Holy Emperor Warriors and delays the main army. Her intended outcome is the exhaustion of both empires, mass resentment to fuel her ascension, and a later Spirit Hall takeover presented as salvation. She suspends the Soul Hunting Plan in favor of this continent-wide strategy 41.

Forced Ascension at Spirit City

Lu Changqing’s arrival destroys Spirit City’s defensive formation and forces Bibi Dong to stand alongside Qian Daoliu. After defeating Qian Daoliu, he publicly reveals her consumption of Qian Xunji and her hidden Rakshasa trials 88 89.

The Divine Realm responds by forcing the Rakshasa inheritance upon her, bypassing her unfinished trials. Newly elevated to First-Level God, she asserts supremacy over Spirit Hall, but her inability to perceive Lu Changqing’s power immediately unsettles her 94 95.

Battle and Death

Bibi Dong joins Tang Chen against Lu Changqing. At Qian Daoliu’s request, they move the battle away from Spirit City; she agrees because she regards the city and Papal Hall as her property 96 97.

Their combined strongest attacks fail. Lu Changqing wounds both gods, shatters her armor, and later kills Tang Chen while she retreats. Bibi Dong attempts spatial escape, then offers Spirit Hall’s submission and information about the Divine Realm’s hidden measures 99 101 102.

Lu Changqing rejects her surrender. Her final Rakshasa True Form attack is cut apart, and he decapitates her with Nine Hells Annihilation Divine Power. Her divine body disintegrates, leaving the cracked Rakshasa Godhood in his possession 102.
