Childhood and the Misidentified Rescuer

Xie Lin lost both parents in a car accident when he was ten. His grandfathers subsequently moved with him to Jiangzhou. When one grandfather was late collecting him from school, a trafficker resembling his mother lured him away. The traffickers’ van later collided with another vehicle, sending both into a mountain ravine 50.

He briefly regained consciousness in the arms of a boy hiding with him in a tree. The boy reassured him that he would take him home. Xie Lin next awoke in hospital holding a dirty blue school badge, with only an indistinct memory of his rescuer’s appearance. He called this person “Pretty Older Brother” 50.

After the Fu family moved next door, Xie Lin associated Fu Yunxi’s height, build, and smile with his rescuer. This mistaken identification became the foundation of his ten-year pursuit of Fu Yunxi. They eventually dated for three years and were engaged for one 11 50.

Awakening and Broken Engagement

During another kidnapping, Xie Lin was subjected to several alphas’ pheromones. He experienced a vision of an illusory book and images ending at his own gravestone. After briefly losing consciousness, he fought back, repeatedly stabbing the kidnappers’ leader despite the physical effects of pheromone exposure 1.

During the woodland competition, Xie Lin helped rescue two kidnapped children. Attacks and Public Confrontations

Following an auction, He Jianing attempted to run Xie Lin down with a sedan. Lu Zhenzhen first pushed Xie Lin aside; he then knocked her out of danger and escaped by vaulting over the moving vehicle 109 110.

During a later haunted-attraction challenge, an alpha disguised as a ghost attacked him with pheromones. Xie Lin recognized that the encounter was not part of the performance, fought through nausea, and landed a kick to the attacker’s head before Lu Ye intervened 147.

Xie Lin also exposed Fu Yingying’s apparent confession that her miscarried child was Fu Yunxi’s. Although she removed her microphone before speaking, he revealed a second microphone, allowing the livestream audience to hear her. Jiang Song later told Xie Lin that a DNA test had established the child was actually his, contradicting her claim 151 156.

The investigation into the Wu family uncovered its involvement in an old child-kidnapping case and led to more than twenty arrests. Wu Meibing subsequently confessed to planning to abduct Xie Lin as leverage against Lu Ye; her attempt failed after Xie Lin intervened to help an omega being harassed and called the police 172 173.

Finding Pretty Older Brother

Xie Lin retained his childhood rescuer’s badge and continued seeking answers. Lu Ye recognized it as a Qingyuan High School badge, but his own memories from the year he differentiated were unclear 82 84.

Shen Qing’an’s account of Lu Ye rescuing a ten-year-old child finally connected the details. Xie Lin showed Lu Ye the badge and a newspaper, realizing that Lu Ye—not Fu Yunxi—was the person he had searched for. After learning more about their shared past, Lu Ye asked to skip an engagement and register their marriage. Their subsequent married life included Xie Lin leaving Snow Hall to live with him, though he remained deeply attached to the grandfathers who had raised him 169 176.

Xie Lin originally entered entertainment to pursue Fu Yunxi. After their separation, he considered leaving the industry, but continued reviewing scripts, filming advertisements, and taking acting work. His later projects included an IF jewelry advertisement featuring Wu Xinyou’s designs and a cameo whose director repeatedly refined the shots 3 159 165 167.

He later became pregnant, and by the ending he and Lu Ye were raising their son, Xie Ye. After confronting Niu Sheng and giving statements to the police, they returned home to their family. Xie Lin expressed a wish for another baby; they agreed that a future daughter would be named Lu Xiaolu 178 184.

He answers insults with sharp retorts, turns attempts to embarrass him back on their instigators, and frequently takes show instructions in deliberately outrageous directions. His aggression coexists with a strong protective streak. He rescues frightened children, intervenes against harassment, and refuses to tolerate insults directed at his parents.
