After receiving a whole pile of buffs, everyone slowly pushed open the massive, heavy blue doors, which scraped against the floor with a low rumble.
Inside was an extremely spacious room. Blue light shone from the ceiling, spilling down in a ghostly glow that made it feel like a dream.
At the far end stood a huge stone throne, upon which sat a towering kobold!
It had deep crimson skin, reddish eyes, a ferocious hyena-like head, a thick torso, and a tail like a giant python coiled around the throne.

Seeing people enter the room, the kobold slowly rose from its throne. It stood about three meters tall and picked up the curved sword beside the throne with one hand, its eyes fixed on the intruders.
"Holy shit, now this is a freaking boss!"
"Now that's the feeling I wanted! Don't get my hopes up too much!"
Radeus looked at the kobold excitedly, bouncing on his feet, already itching to have a go.
"Did this labyrinth originally have something like this?"
Talhand frowned in confusion and turned to Geese, their information specialist.
"I don't think so. Nobody's reached the sixth floor, but people have made it to the fifth. There shouldn't be a guardian, right?"
Geese scratched his head and studied the enormous creature in the distance, looking rather bewildered himself.
"Then it must have appeared after the labyrinth mutated!"
Elinalise added as she looked at the towering kobold before them.
After all, with all the absurd things they had encountered along the way, one more hardly made a difference.
"Who cares!"
"Rudeus!"
Radeus grinned and turned to give Rudeus a look, then charged at the kobold a second later.
