Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First spell: Water Ball | 5 | Successfully produces water after reciting an incantation. |
| Chantless casting and expanding mana reserves | 6 | Casts Water Ball without chanting. His capacity rises from three casts to an estimated eight after early training. |
| Intermediate water magic | 7 | Attempts Water Cannon, but loses control and destroys a window and part of the wall. |
| Proficient intermediate attack magic | 13 | After six months under Roxy, can use various intermediate attack spells. His mana reserves are approximately eight times Radeus’s. |
| Chantless combination magic; intermediate healing | 17 | Combines spells without incantations, but still needs chants for healing. Reports that his growing reserves have become effectively impossible for him to exhaust in training. |
| Advanced spells learned | 18 | By his fifth birthday, has learned every advanced spell Roxy knows. |
| Cumulonimbus demonstrated | 29 | Casts the spell simultaneously with Radeus during their friendly match. |
| World’s Blessing | 54 | Gains increased magical power, casting speed, and mana affinity, reduced consumption, and freedom to customize magic beyond its usual rules. |
| Direct mana reinforcement | 57 | Uses the blessing to strengthen his body directly with mana, bypassing his inability to employ conventional battle aura. |

| Mana Materialization | 127 | Under pressure from Alexander’s Gravity Break, solidifies his mana into a golden armored construct with a three-meter-tall upper body. |
| Magic Armor Type Zero | 128 | Reshapes the construct into fitted armor and uses it to concentrate a high-density energy projectile. |
| Water Saint Rank; Advanced in all Three Sword Styles | 132 | Radeus explicitly identifies these as Rudeus’s current ranks. |
| Magic swordsman enhancement | 132 | With mini Mahoraga’s assistance, gains the mana-imbuing capability he admired in Eris. |
| Further-compressed Mana Armor | 188 | Compresses his armor into a smaller, close-fitting form with substantially greater power. |
| God-rank Rock Bullet demonstrated | 203 | Fires an attack explicitly described as god rank, piercing Orsted’s arm. This establishes the spell’s power, not a formally awarded overall mage rank. |
Background / History
Rudeus’s previous life was spent in Japan on Blue Star. Bullying drove him into isolation, and he became a shut-in with little formal schooling. He died after being struck by a truck while trying to save two high-school students arguing beside a road 4 6 21.
Reborn as Paul and Zenith’s younger twin son, he retained his adult memories. He and Radeus discovered their shared reincarnation after hearing one another’s thoughts, then exchanged accounts of their former lives. Both learned to speak and move unusually early, although Radeus initially developed faster physically 2 3 4.
The twins began experimenting with magic before receiving instruction from Roxy. Rudeus showed exceptional mana growth, while swordsmanship proved much more difficult despite lessons from Paul. Radeus encouraged him to keep training so that approaching warriors would not leave him defenseless 5 6 12 13.
His previous-life trauma initially prevented him from leaving the house. At age five, he froze at the doorway before Roxy’s graduation examination; Radeus took his hand and led him outside. Rudeus later credited his brother with repeatedly helping him overcome his isolation 18 20.
Appearance
- Emerald-green eyes distinguish him from Radeus, whose eyes are blue 3 10.
- Yellow hair is among the features Alexander uses when mistakenly identifying him as Radeus 124.
- He and Radeus look nearly identical apart from their early differences in height and eye color 21 176.
- Initially a full head shorter than his twin, he reaches approximately 160 cm at nine years old after requesting an accelerated-growth blessing 7 61.
Personality
Rudeus combines enthusiasm for magic with a gamer’s competitive outlook. He practices diligently when motivated, becomes anxious when his progress stalls, and resents Radeus’s apparent willingness to coast on his existing strength. New abilities can also make him overconfident: after learning mana reinforcement, he immediately believes he can challenge his brother in close combat 12 30 57.
His lecherous behavior repeatedly earns reprimands from Radeus. He initially mishandles his friendship with Sylphie after assuming she is a boy, and his attempts to apologize make matters worse before Paul helps him understand what to say 4 12 25 26.
His experience of bullying makes him unwilling to ignore another victim. He intervenes when children attack Sylphie, helps a lost child find his parents, and defends Ghislaine against her brother’s hostility 21 124 142.
Family becomes central to his acceptance of his new life. He resolves to protect the warmth of the Greyrat household and eventually recognizes Paul as his father regardless of his own otherworldly origins 10 194.
Abilities & Skills
Mana Reserves and Chantless Magic
- His mana pool grows through repeated childhood use, eventually dwarfing Radeus’s despite their shared training 6 13 17.
- Casts offensive and combination magic without incantations, avoiding the preparation time required by conventional spellcasting 17 24.
- Uses water, fire, earth, wind, ice, and lightning in layered attacks, including mist concealment, Earth Spikes, quagmires, and redirected projectiles 24 26 29.
- Provides water, shelter, and assistance crossing difficult terrain during travel across the Demon Continent 80.
- Creates intricate earth-magic figurines with detailed structures, poses, and removable equipment 13.
World’s Blessing
| Effect | Stated Benefit |
|---|---|
| Magical power | Increased by 500% 54 |
| Mana consumption | Reduced by 80% 54 |
| Casting speed | Increased by 200% 54 |
| Mana affinity | Increased by 1,000% 54 |
| Magical customization | Magic can be customized without being bound by its usual rules 54 |
- Receives the blessing after invoking the spirits and entering a white space where they call him the Divine Child 53 54.
- The blessing also manifests on Radeus; Rudeus later demonstrates that a separately requested blessing can be restricted to himself 54 61.
- Possesses a [Sun] Blessing, with his mana and physical strength reaching their peak at noon 125.
Mana Reinforcement and Close Combat
- Cannot originally cloak himself in conventional battle aura, severely hindering his sword training 24 53.
- After receiving the World’s Blessing, reinforces his body directly with mana instead 57.
- Moves too quickly for Eris to follow during his close-combat match with Radeus and performs a mana-powered kick named Night Guy 58.
- Lands Black Flash by biting Radeus’s hand to prevent him from withdrawing before the punch connects 58.
- Remains conscious of his specialization: after losing that match, he identifies magic rather than melee as his greatest strength 58.
Mana Materialization and Magic Armor Type Zero
- Converts released mana into a dense, tangible golden construct, initially resembling an upper-body-only armored giant 127.
- Reshapes the construct into Magic Armor Type Zero, a fitted suit with flowing mana at its joints and runes across its surface 128.
- Extends multiple golden arms to restrain all nine of the labyrinth Hydra’s necks 187.
- Further compression produces smaller armor with much greater power 188.
- Limits: the Hydra’s white flames wear the armor away, and Orsted cuts through it with a barehanded Sword of Light 188 200.
High-Density Projectiles
- Uses Mana Armor to gather a purple energy projectile inspired by Radeus’s Red. It splits into six shots to bypass Alexander’s blocking sword 128.
- Fires Rock Bullets rapidly enough to clear the monsters surrounding Eris in the labyrinth 179.
- Compresses five Rock Bullets to eraser size while retaining enough force to pierce the white-flamed Hydra 188.
- At maximum concentration, produces a god-rank Rock Bullet capable of penetrating Orsted’s arm 203.
Healing Spell Formation
- Initially requires chants for intermediate healing; after his blessing, demonstrates chantless beginner healing 17 58.
- Radeus offers to teach him the internal Healing Spell Formation he calls Reverse Cursed Technique 58.
- Later possesses the formation and activates it to erase a chest wound inflicted by Orsted 127 200.
Foresight
- Receives visions of Alexander’s imminent movements, including an attack 0.2 seconds into the future 127.
- Limit: knowing an attack is coming does not guarantee that his body can evade it, particularly under the King Dragon Sword’s gravity manipulation 127.
Twin Telepathy and Shadow Support
- Communicates mentally with Radeus through an ability they compare to a telephone; private thoughts sometimes leak through unintentionally 4 10 22.
- Reestablishes Party Chat on the Demon Continent after his Shadow Bracelet reacts to another holder nearby 80.
- The modified Ten Shadows Technique recognizes creatures killed by Rudeus as eligible material for Radeus’s Shikigami 46 51.
- Can receive a mini Mahoraga in his shadow, but cannot independently summon Mahoraga himself 51 125.
- Uses mini Mahoraga’s assistance to acquire mana-imbuing magic-swordsman abilities 132.
Languages and Teaching
- Speaks the Demon God Language well enough to greet the Migurd village chief, who praises his accomplishment at such a young age 84.
- Teaches Sylphie elemental, compound, and chantless magic alongside Radeus 24 28.
- Becomes Eris’s magic tutor at House Boreas 35 40.

- Orsted — Opponent in the Red Dragon Mountains. He breaches Rudeus’s armor, while Rudeus later wounds his arm with a god-rank projectile 200 203.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Village Friendships and the Boreas Tutoring Job
After overcoming his fear of going outside, Rudeus helps rescue Sylphie from bullies and teaches her magic. Their friendship is strained when he discovers she is a girl, but they reconcile with advice from Paul 21 24 25 26.
Interested in attending the Ranoa University of Magic, he considers how to include both Radeus and Sylphie. He subsequently travels to Roa to tutor Eris, whose refusal to accept a younger teacher turns their introduction into a beating. After the kidnapping incident, Eris’s interest in his magic helps establish his teaching role 31 33 35 40.
Spirits and the World’s Blessing
Radeus persuades him to test whether incantations invoke spirits, partly as a possible answer to his inability to use battle aura. The experiment brings Rudeus into contact with spirits and earns him the World’s Blessing, transforming both his magic and his prospects in close combat 53 54 57.
His first major test of mana reinforcement is another duel with Radeus. Although he lands Black Flash, he loses and accepts that his strongest role remains that of a mage 58.
Demon Continent Journey
Following the Teleportation Incident, Rudeus travels with Eris and Rujierd, using magic to ease their journey. Reuniting with Radeus changes their immediate objective to returning to the Central Continent and finding their missing relatives 80 81.
He visits Roxy’s home village, supports Rujierd’s effort to clear the Superd name, and follows Hitogami’s recommendation to accept a cat-finding request. At Wenne Port, Alexander’s mistaken identification of him as Radeus leads to the duel in which he develops Mana Materialization and Magic Armor Type Zero 84 85 91 92 124 127 128.
Family Search and the Labyrinth
Rudeus reunites with Paul and later with Aisha, who reveals that Lilia is imprisoned in Shirone’s royal palace. The group subsequently reaches the Begaritt Continent and reconnects with Paul’s companions 152 165 174.
In the labyrinth, he shields Eris from a fatal attack and clears the surrounding monsters. During the expedition to rescue Zenith, he uncovers the real teleportation circle and fights the nine-headed Hydra alongside Radeus 179 185 187 188.
Return toward Asura and Battle with Orsted
Rudeus proposes that Paul take Zenith and the others to Millis while he accompanies Eris back to the Asura Kingdom. Paul agrees, and the traveling party reaches the snowy Red Dragon Mountains 194.
There, Orsted recognizes the brothers’ names as connected to changes in the Seven Great Powers Stele. Their encounter becomes a battle in which Rudeus’s armor is breached, his healing formation restores him, and his concentrated Rock Bullet injures the Dragon God 197 200 203.
