What was going on?
Radeus and Rudeus stared at each other.
Before either of them could make sense of the situation, Paul picked Radeus up off the floor and Rudeus off the table and headed toward their nursery.
"You two are so mischievous you're a real handful. Now be good, go back to your room, and get some rest."
Radeus grumbled inwardly, Rudeus was the mischievous one, not me!
Rudeus heard that and looked at Radeus, his thoughts unknown.
Watching Paul carry the two children, Zenith covered her mouth and chuckled, then said to Lilia,
"Well, let's get back to cooking!"
Paul put them in their cribs and left, leaving only Radeus and Rudeus behind.
The two lay in bed looking at each other, unsure what to say. In the end, Rudeus spoke first.
Were you reincarnated in another world too?
Looks like you were too!
Radeus answered in his mind.
Who would have thought that Zenith's twins would both be transmigrators? It was hard to say whether she was lucky or unlucky.
Which country on Blue Star were you from? I was from China. Before I transmigrated, I was a miserable corporate slave.
Hearing Radeus's words, Rudeus hesitated before slowly speaking as well.
I-I was from Japan. I was a shut-in.
At that, Rudeus also glanced at Radeus. Finding no look of disgust on his face, he relaxed.
After all, in Japan, "shut-in" was a derogatory term in society. Nobody respected shut-ins, and almost everyone put on a disgusted expression whenever they were mentioned.
Holy shit, that sounds awesome, bro! I fucking wanted to lie flat at home too, playing games, watching anime, and spending my whole life doing nothing!
As someone from China born in the 2000s, Radeus felt no aversion whatsoever toward shut-ins. If anything, that was precisely the lifestyle China's younger generation wanted.
With graduation meaning unemployment these days, Radeus had only been able to keep pursuing higher education to postpone entering the workforce in the hope of finding a job. That delay had lasted until he earned his doctorate, yet after graduating, he had still only managed to get into a middling company, dealing with a revolting boss and working himself to death for a salary of just over 8,000.
After that, Radeus had understood that a higher degree did not mean a good job in the future, though it would certainly get you onto an assembly line. Hard work did not necessarily bring rewards, but it certainly brought endless work.
Fucking hell!
With the ice broken, the two began talking more frequently.
Meeting a fellow transmigrator from Blue Star in a distant other world was already incredibly precious, and, unexpectedly, they also hit it off. It was a case of kindred spirits finding each other through low mountains and foul waters.
The two kept criticizing and discussing the state of their former society, but to an outsider, it was just...
Two babies waving their arms and legs and babbling at each other. Very strange indeed!
By the way, little bro, how did you end up transmigrating? Radeus asked.
I got hit and killed by a truck while trying to save two high school kids arguing by the roadside. Talk about rotten luck!
Rudeus spread his hands and sighed.
You think getting rammed by a Dayun truck was unlucky? Then you haven't heard mine.
On my way home after working overtime one night, I got elbow-slammed by a Dayun truck and a meteor at the same time. Can you believe that?
I still have no idea how those two things ended up together!
Hearing about this bizarre method of transmigration, Rudeus fell silent for a while before slowly uttering two words.
Fucking incredible!
Time passed, and in the blink of an eye, summer had turned to winter. The village was blanketed in white snow.
Dressed in thick clothes, Rudeus and Radeus puffed out breaths inside their room.
After several months of freakishly rapid development, Rudeus could just barely stand and walk, while Radeus was even more outrageous-he could already run quite smoothly.
For a moment, this made Rudeus question whether they had really been born together.
Why was the gap so huge?
It was worth mentioning that both of them could already speak aloud. The first time they spoke, Paul and Zenith had been astonished, exclaiming that their sons were both geniuses!
They had also more or less figured out their ability to communicate telepathically.
Their conversations had no restrictions, and they could communicate anytime, anywhere. When they did not want to talk, their thoughts would not reach the other person. In other words, it was like a telephone.
The other person could only talk to you when you made a call, and once you hung up, communication was impossible. This also prevented either of them from learning about the embarrassing things going through the other's mind.
However, from time to time, they would also unconsciously sense what the other was thinking. The frequency and conditions were uncertain, rather like how, when a person slept, their brain would automatically make their body twitch to confirm they were not dead.
The range of their communication was also uncertain. At least within the house, they could talk whenever they wanted.
"Hey, Rade, let's go exploring!" Rudeus said to Radeus.
"Exploring?"
"Yeah, I found a huge wooden treasure chest in a little room on the second floor. My years of gaming instincts tell me there has to be treasure inside."
Hearing the word "treasure," Radeus could not help getting excited too. What boy could resist the lure of treasure?
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go, let's go!"
With that, Radeus pulled Rudeus toward the second floor.
Lilia, who was nearby, called after the two as they headed upstairs.
"Young masters, walk carefully. Don't fall!"
"Got it!" ×2
Both raised a hand in response to Lilia.
Watching their retreating backs, Lilia murmured to herself.
"The young masters are certainly energetic! Thankfully, with Young Master Rade around, Young Master Rudeus has been behaving a little more normally lately. At least he's stopped putting underwear over his head."
On that subject, Rudeus had to mention his dear brother, his fellow native of Blue Star, the most righteous child of all-Radeus Greyrat.
Whenever this guy caught Rudeus doing something that would make others incredibly envious, Radeus would stand beside him and educate him on the law.
Indecent assault, sexual harassment, blah blah blah-it all gave Rudeus a headache.
Most importantly, this guy even mentioned something about the crime of being a Genshin Impact player. What kind of crime was that?!
Was that even in the law?
In short, whenever Radeus was around, Rudeus could only be a good little boy.
The main issue was that he could not beat him. This guy was a pure stat monster. Even at his young age, his left hand dealt high damage, and his right hand dealt damage that was high. He could lift Rudeus with one hand, letting him experience being hoisted into the air for free.
And this guy was not just a stat monster, but a mechanics monster too. Even when Rudeus attacked from behind, it was as though he could see it. He could catch Rudeus's attacks without even turning his head, leaving Rudeus unable to resist his big brother now.
Rudeus might have looked like he was doing nothing, but the truth was that he had run out of options!
All Rudeus wanted to ask now was:
Did the devs enter these stats with their feet? Have they ever played a game?
