A flash of white light swept past, and a figure descended onto the grass where Rudeus stood.
Rudeus looked at the person who had suddenly appeared before him in confusion. He had no idea how this fellow had appeared.
Before Rudeus could speak, Almanfi raised his blade and slashed at him.
Rudeus frowned deeply, neither panicked nor afraid. He raised his staff toward him, and mana began to gather.
His opponent was fast, but that was all. He was nowhere near Radeus's level. In short, an enemy like this posed no threat.
"Wait, Rudeus!"
Noticing Rudeus's movements, Ghislaine hurried forward to block Almanfi's attack. She was afraid Rudeus would blast Almanfi to pieces with a single spell.
"Who are you?"
Seeing Ghislaine arrive, Rudeus put away his staff and questioned Almanfi.
"I am Almanfi the Radiant, a servant of the supreme Lord Perugius. I have come today on Lord Perugius's orders to eliminate the source of this anomaly!"
Almanfi also stopped attacking and began introducing himself.
"Perugius?"
Rudeus felt as though he had heard that name somewhere before.

Rudeus immediately remembered where he had heard it. It had come up when he was shopping in Roa with Eris and the others: the master of that Sky Castle, one of the Three Heroes who had defeated the Demon God Laplace.
"If he's the Armored Dragon King, one of the Three Heroes, why attack me for no reason?"
Rudeus did not understand why this man claiming to be Perugius's subordinate had suddenly attacked him. He had never offended Perugius.
"I sensed unusual mana here from above just now. I imagine you were responsible for it, brat. If I kill you, perhaps I can stop the anomaly in the sky."
